Chapter 1039: A fierce attack like a tiger

Chapter 1039: A fierce attack like a tiger

As Mr. Zhao looked at the scratches on the wall, his facial muscles twitched uncontrollably, which was quite frightening.

Li Jiaming and the others were also startled by this sudden change. After they came to their senses, they saw that the place where they were standing was suddenly shaking.

A few seconds later, the scene on all sides of the street changed dramatically.

The surroundings were still empty, but the once densely packed shops had long since disappeared, replaced by a large, messy wasteland. There was even a stinking ditch next to the wasteland, which was now emitting a horrifying stench.

Seeing this scene, everyone recalled what they had just eaten. Regardless of whether what they ate was actually fresh or not, just the thought of sitting next to a stinking ditch and eating so deliciously made them feel nauseous and want to vomit.

Seeing his carefully crafted illusion easily exposed, Boss Zhao grew increasingly furious: "Who, who is it?"

As soon as they finished speaking, the sound of running footsteps came from behind them.

The crowd looked in the direction of the sound and discovered that a group of people had appeared behind them at some point, led by a handsome man in a white shirt who was tall but not thin.

"Someone...someone's come to save us!" Li Jiaming was the first to react, exclaiming in surprise.

The others seemed to have finally found their voices again, crying and laughing, howling and shouting.

The long-haired girl, who had almost become Mr. Zhao's meal, knew she was saved. Her legs went weak, and after letting out a sigh of relief, she finally managed to look at her "savior".

Upon seeing this, she was completely stunned, and her face turned red.

Upon hearing Li Jiaming and his companions' words, Boss Zhao scoffed and sneered, "Save you? You've already entered my territory and you still want to run away?"

After speaking, he looked up ahead, his malicious gaze sweeping over Feng Tianyu and the others, his greed undisguised.

“Great. I was just worried about where to look for them since they were all hiding. Now that so many people are coming to me, I can finally have a good meal.”

As he spoke, Boss Zhao removed his human skin in front of everyone, transforming into a bloody and foul-smelling monster.

Some people couldn't help but vomit upon seeing this, while others screamed in fright.

Feng Tianyu was getting impatient with the sharp cry from someone, and immediately sent a sword aura flying over.

A bright flash of sword light swept past, grazing the woman's neck, and a small tuft of hair fell down with it.

The screams stopped abruptly, and the woman stared wide-eyed, bewildered.

Just as he realized what was happening and was about to speak, Feng Tianyu stopped him first: "Shut up."

The woman immediately became like a parrot with its neck being choked, no longer daring to make a sound.

Even without the annoying screams, Feng Tianyu was still in a bad mood. Not wanting to linger in this place any longer, he completely ignored the monster that was charging towards him menacingly.

With a wave of his right hand, nine longswords appeared out of nowhere, hovering behind Feng Tianyu, accompanied by his gesture.

These longswords seemed to possess their own consciousness, flying straight towards the monster that the vengeful ghost had transformed into.

The longsword, wreathed in light, pierced the monster fiercely, instantly radiating golden light. Everyone instinctively raised their hands to block the excessively dazzling light.

Then they heard a muffled roar. The young people mustered their courage and peered through their fingers. They saw a huge black shadow painfully raising its head and shouting something. It seemed to be struggling to escape, but it was powerless and could only watch helplessly as the warm light slowly devoured it until it turned to ashes and nothing was left.

Feng Tianyu was not surprised by this result at all. Even a thousand-year-old ghost was powerless against him, let alone a "new ghost" who had been dead for less than fifty years.

This Mr. Zhao did not do anything evil in his life, but he suddenly returned to the world of the living from the underworld and found that the street where stalls were not allowed in the past had now become a commercial night market street.

The psychological gap was too great, and coupled with the fact that he was worried about being caught by the urban management officers while setting up a stall, he panicked and took the wrong turn, which led to the car accident.

Although the truck driver later compensated their family with some money out of humanitarian considerations, the root cause of this traffic incident was Mr. Zhao's failure to follow traffic rules in his haste, and he should bear most, or even all, of the responsibility.

Boss Zhao was unwilling to accept this, and for a time he went astray and became obsessed.

Today happens to be the Ghost Festival, a time of heavy yin energy. His resentment impacted this wasteland near the site of his death, creating a small-scale ghost realm.

This place happened to be not far from the commercial street that Li Jiaming and the others had originally intended to go to. When they came out, they were busy discussing the notices issued by various residential areas to prevent people from wandering around tonight. They were completely unaware that they had gone to the wrong place and had already stepped into someone else's ghost territory, becoming someone else's prey.

It was also good luck for this group of people. This Boss Zhao was a discerning man who knew that the souls of people who were well-fed, drunk, and in a good mood were especially delicious to devour. That's why it took him some time to fabricate the scene that was filmed in the live broadcast, giving Xiao Jihui's men time to arrive. Otherwise, these people would have been dead long ago.

Feng Tianyu had anticipated the outcome and remained calm throughout.

The few who escaped death were not as calm as him. When they saw the vengeful ghost turn into a monster, they were worried and silently felt a chill for the people who came to save them.

Who would have thought that the anticipated fierce battle would end so soon after it had just begun?

Seeing the monster instantly reduced to ashes, the group finally understood what it meant to "destroy a ton of attacks like a tiger, only to turn around and find it's a complete idiot." This was it!

"Wow, that's so cool!"

"This...this is it? We're...alright?"

Li Jiaming and the others looked at each other in disbelief. They had thought they were doomed and could hardly believe they had been rescued so easily, especially since one of their companions had unfortunately passed away.

Thinking of this, the three of them looked at the long-haired girl who had survived.

This person was just a little dissatisfied because of Feng Tianyu's merciless reprimand, but when he saw Feng Tianyu kill the monster with a single move, his dissatisfaction instantly turned into excitement.

Seeing Feng Tianyu stop and walk over, the woman quickly tidied herself up, walked up to him with a shy expression, and tried to start a conversation: "Sir, what you just did was really too..."

Before she could finish speaking, another sword flashed over, striking just a step away from the woman.

The woman gasped, and before she could react, she heard the man not far away say coldly, "I'm busy. Don't call me for trash like this again."
