Chapter 545: Something About It
The assistant who was silently following Gao Min couldn't help but gasp when she heard the name. Realizing that she had lost her composure, she quickly covered her mouth and gave the others an apologetic look.
Gao Min raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised: "Yuerong, you know her?"
The company recently transferred Qiu Yuerong, a junior assistant, to help out because they saw that she was overwhelmed with handling the trivial matters of brand breach of contract on her own.
Although she claimed to be helping, Gao Min knew that this person was probably just a nepotism hire trying to gain experience, the kind who might go home and inherit the family business if things didn't work out with her one day.
"I don't really know her personally, I've just heard people mention her. She used to be quite famous, having acted in many popular idol dramas and urban dramas, but perhaps because she was constantly on set, she became numb to acting and her acting became very stiff, and she's not as good as before."
"She's been busy transitioning to the big screen these past few years, but hasn't found the right opportunity yet. Recently, Director Fang has a film that's casting for a role, and she's taken a liking to the female lead. She probably feels that Sister Ye might be a threat to her, so she's taking precautions in advance."
"Director Fang? That Director Fang who's famous for making films set in the Republican era?"
“Yes, that’s him.” Qiu Yuerong nodded. “He has a movie coming out recently called ‘Like a Dream’. The female lead is a rich heiress and the male lead is an actor. The story sounds quite unique. It’s an art film and is probably aiming for awards.”
"Xiang Xiaoxiao takes this movie very seriously. She started pulling strings months ago, hoping to get into the cast. However, Director Fang is very strict with the actors in his crew, especially the male and female leads. No matter who speaks up for them, it won't work. He only values acting skills. So far, Director Fang hasn't decided on a female lead he's satisfied with."
Gao Min frowned slightly after hearing this: "But what does this have to do with our Wanxi? She doesn't have the ability to get into the cast, and she's taking her anger out on our Wanxi. This is clearly blatant misplaced anger. Does Director Fang really think he can cast Wanxi as the female lead?"
As soon as Gao Min said this, all eyes in the room immediately fell on her.

Gao Min was certainly not naive enough to believe her flawed explanation. She stared at Qiu Yuerong meaningfully for a while, already plotting how to find an opportunity to get the girl's true background out of the boss.
