Chapter 22: The Villain is Confirmed

Aunt Wang sat up straight in surprise: "You haven't eaten yet?"

Qin Yuanyao nodded.

The villagers eat dinner early; they usually eat around 5 p.m. if they have nothing else to do.

It's already 8 PM.

"I have some leftover rice and dishes. If you don't mind, I can heat them up for you. It's too late now. By the time you finish cooking, it will be a long time. It's okay for adults to go hungry for a while, but it's not good for children to be hungry for too long," Aunt Wang said kindly.

Qin Yuanyao felt that Aunt Wang's words made sense, but she couldn't make the decision on her own, so she went to ask Chi Baiyi and Chi Cheese for their opinions.

Chi Baiyi didn't say anything, but instead asked Chi Cheese, "Want some?"

Chi Cheese nodded: "Eat."

She was so hungry that her chest and back were almost pressed together.

Chi Baiyi had no objection when Chi Cheese said to eat it.

"You have to pay for your meals too," the photographer reminded them at the opportune moment.

"It's all leftovers, why should we pay?" Aunt Wang waved her hand: "No need to pay."

"This is a rule of the show; guests have to pay for their accommodation, meals, and groceries," said the cameraman.

That's exactly what the production team told the villagers before they came to the village to broadcast live.

But Aunt Wang felt that it was already good enough that the guests didn't mind the leftovers from her house, so why should she charge them?

“According to the rules, you have to pay ten yuan,” the photographer insisted.

Qin Yuanyao readily took out ten yuan and handed it over: "Ten yuan it is, we're not short of money."

She then said to Aunt Wang, "Aunt Wang, I'm going to heat up the food. Please clear out the room for me."

"good."

Before going to the kitchen, Qin Yuanyao remembered something and asked Aunt Wang, "By the way, Aunt Wang, do you have any steamed buns or anything like that?"

Yes, do you want some?

"Uh-huh."

"You have to pay for the steamed buns too," the photographer reminded them at the opportune moment.

Qin Yuanyao glanced at him speechlessly: "I know."

Since neither Chi Baiyi nor Chi Naoqi wanted to eat steamed buns, Qin Yuanyao spent two yuan to buy two steamed buns from Aunt Wang.

[Qin Yuanyao's sidelong glance at the camera just now was terrifying; she's definitely a villain.]

Qin Yuanyao's attitude towards the photographer was terrible! The photographer was just stating the production team's rules, why was she giving him such a hard time? The photographer carried that heavy camera and filmed them all day, it must have been very tiring for him.

[This reminds me of the previous exposé about Qin Yuanyao bullying extras. She really is a bully who picks on the weak and fears the strong. If she's unhappy with the show's rules, she should go and give the higher-ups at the production team a hard time. Why bully the working class?]

She ate two steamed buns by herself, even more than President Chi, and she didn't seem to do much work either. She's definitely just a lazy bum by nature.

Qin Yuanyao was completely unaware of the accusations against her in the live chat.

She heated up the food as quickly as possible and let Chi Baiyi and Chi Cheese eat first.

"Sister Qin, aren't you going to eat?" Chi Nao asked.

"I'll eat in a bit."

After Qin Yuanyao finished speaking, she put the steaming hot buns in a bowl and handed them to the photographer.

"Although the production team should have prepared dinner for you, you can only eat after the live broadcast ends. Eat something first to settle your stomach. You've worked hard all day filming."

Qin Yuanyao said this to the photographer.

But the photographer was pointing the camera directly at her, so the viewers in the live stream could only see that Qin Yuanyao was speaking to the camera.

Although they couldn't see the photographer's expression, they could tell from his surprised voice that he was just as shocked as the audience.

"...For me?"

Qin Yuanyao nodded.

"You bought these two steamed buns from Aunt Wang, specifically for me?" The photographer still couldn't believe it.

Qin Yuanyao was too lazy to explain anymore and said, "When we eat, you can put the camera on the other table facing us, so you can eat your steamed buns with your hands free. If you don't mind, you can eat whatever you want from the dishes on the table."

The photographer was moved to tears.

To be honest, he was starving. But the live stream wasn't over yet, and his work wasn't finished, so he couldn't just abandon his work to go eat.

He never imagined that any guest would care whether his staff were hungry or tired, and would even use the money that the production team had been squeezing out of their own families to buy food for them.

[Wow! So those two steamed buns were for the photographer... I misunderstood her!]

Qin Yuanyao is very kind and thoughtful. She not only thought of buying steamed buns for the photographer, but also how to free up his hands to eat.

I feel that Qin Yuanyao is indeed different from what's being said online. She didn't deliberately try to please President Chi, and she even considered whether the staff were hungry.

It's all just for show. You think you can be fooled by two steamed buns?

[Besides Qin Yuanyao, which other guest thought about whether the staff were hungry or tired?]

That's because some of the other guests haven't even arrived at Anfeng Village yet, and those who have haven't even managed to get their own dinner. If they were like Qin Yuanyao, with plenty of money and accommodation and dinner already arranged, they would naturally consider the staff's needs as well.

[You already knew the previous statements were "if," and now Qin Yuanyao has acted out all the scenarios you assumed. What's wrong with me praising her a few times? Do you only feel satisfied when everyone else agrees that Qin Yuanyao is just putting on an act?]

Anyway, I now think Qin Yuanyao might not be a bad person at heart. I'm not criticizing her anymore; I'm just neutral now.

...

Just as Qin Yuanyao and her group were having dinner and getting ready to wash up, and their difficult day was finally coming to a peaceful end, the other guest groups were still experiencing chaos and turmoil.
