After hearing Zhong Ling's words, Xuanming smiled broadly, "Good, follow your heart. I, Xuanming, have met a true otherworldly master today."

He no longer insisted, but turned his gaze to Jiuhun.

"Jiuhun, come here." Xuanming called softly.

Jiuhun immediately walked obediently to Xuanming's shadow, with his big head pressed against his body.

Taoist Xuanming raised his hand and gently stroked Jiuhun's fur.

"My friend, I'm afraid my soul can't hold on for too long. Please act quickly." Taoist Xuanming looked at Zhong Ling and said earnestly.

He could feel that his soul was dissipating at an accelerated rate. This was the price of forcibly stabilizing his soul.

Zhong Ling nodded without hesitation. She could sense Xuanming's weakened spirit and knew she couldn't delay any longer.

With a thought, she took out a palm-sized, warm gourd from the mustard seed space, and a faint fluorescent light flowed on the surface of the gourd.

This gourd was made by her from various precious materials for the soul that she collected in a certain advanced world of immortal cultivation. It was specially used to nourish, absorb and store the soul, and was called the "Soul-Nourishing Gourd".

"Senior, please lead your soul into this gourd." Zhong Ling handed the soul-nourishing gourd to Taoist Xuanming.

Taoist Xuanming looked at the gourd with a hint of surprise in his eyes.

Although he did not recognize this magic weapon, he could feel the pure spiritual power and the mysterious nourishing principles contained in it.

He knew that Zhong Ling had not lied to him and that this was indeed a treasure that could save his soul.

He looked at Zhong Ling gratefully, then the shadow slowly stood up and bowed deeply to Zhong Ling.

"Thank you for your kindness in giving me a new life!"

Zhong Ling accepted the gift calmly.

Then, Xuanming took a deep breath and no longer hesitated. The entire shadow turned into a stream of light and sank into the soul-nourishing gourd in Zhong Ling's hand.

The soul-nourishing gourd trembled slightly, and fluorescent light flowed on its surface, and then it returned to calm.

Upon seeing this, Jiuhun nudged the gourd in Zhong Ling's hand with his big head, and then looked at her, as if urging her to get treatment quickly.

Zhong Ling put away the soul-nourishing gourd and turned to look at Jiuhun. The big guy was looking at her pitifully, looking at a loss.

Zhong Ling bent down, touched Jiuhun's head, and said softly, "Don't worry, he's fine. He just needs time to nourish his soul. Once his soul is strong, I will find him a suitable body."

Jiuhun seemed to understand Zhong Ling's words. A light flashed in his amber eyes. He growled happily and rubbed Zhong Ling's body with his head.

Afterwards, Zhong Ling collected the body of Taoist Xuanming.

"Okay, your former master is safe for now." She reached out and patted Jiuhun's big head. "Come with me, I'll find a good place for you."

Jiuhun blinked, seemingly still dazed by the sudden turn of events. He lowered his head to sniff Zhong Ling's empty hand, then looked up at her and let out a joyful roar.

Zhong Ling brought the Nine Souls and appeared in the mustard seed space the next moment.

“Roar!”

As soon as he entered the space, Jiuhun was so shocked by the rich spiritual energy in front of him that he let out a deafening roar. However, there was no ferocity in this roar. Instead, it was filled with extreme surprise and comfort.

It shook its shiny fur violently and greedily breathed in the spiritual energy in the space.

The spiritual energy here is a hundred times richer and purer than the spiritual energy in the cave during the owner's heyday as it remembers!

In the distance, a spiritual spring gurgles, the fairy peach tree is lush and leafy, and the peaches emit an enticing fruity fragrance.

Various magical herbs and medicines that are rarely seen in the outside world grow here like ordinary flowers and plants.

Jiuhun excitedly frolicked on the grass, running, jumping, rolling around and acting cute, his huge body extremely flexible.

It ran to the spiritual spring, carefully stretched out its tongue and licked a few mouthfuls of the spring water. It squinted its eyes in comfort and made a satisfied gurgling sound in its throat.

He ran to the peach tree again, sniffing it curiously, but not daring to touch it easily.

Zhong Ling couldn't help but smile at its cheerful appearance. This big guy was indeed a true character.

"This will be your home from now on. Find a place you like and stay there." Zhong Ling said to Jiuhun.

Upon hearing this, Jiuhun became even more excited. He called out to Zhong Ling happily a few times, as if to express his gratitude, and then dived into the bushes of spiritual plants in the distance and began to explore this new place.

Seeing that it was having fun, Zhong Ling stopped paying attention to it. The mustard seed space was large enough and had abundant spiritual energy, enough for the Nine Souls to settle down here.

Her mind moved slightly, and her figure disappeared from the space.

Shortly after Zhong Ling and Jiuhun left the valley, a forest ranger team on routine patrol arrived in the area.

"Captain, look over there, is there a new valley?" A young team member pointed ahead with sharp eyes.

Captain Lao Zhang was an experienced man. He squinted his eyes and his expression changed slightly. "I've been walking around this area for twenty years and I've never seen this valley entrance before. It's not even on the map."

The few of them approached carefully and found that there was no artificial or natural obstruction at the entrance of the valley, and the vegetation inside was lush.

"Strange, why didn't I notice it before?"

"Could it be caused by a recent landslide?"

Lao Zhang shook his head. "It doesn't look like it. Report it immediately and have the bureau send someone to take a look."

They didn't know that the invisible barrier that originally covered this place was actually the Nine Souls' natural gift - isolation. With the departure of the Nine Souls, this secret place was revealed.

After dealing with the matter of the Nine Souls, Zhong Ling wanted to go and see the ancient tree. She followed her memory and came to the place where she had met the ancient tree that had come to life before.

However, all that remained was a huge, newly dug earth pit, and the ancient tree was nowhere to be seen.

Zhong Ling frowned.

She released her spiritual sense, carefully scanning the surroundings. Soon, beneath an inconspicuous bush, she sensed an extremely faint, yet familiar, wave of life.

"Is it you?" Zhong Ling sent out a divine sense.

The wave trembled slightly, and with the relief of surviving the disaster and a hint of admiration, it tried hard to respond to Zhong Ling.

Zhong Ling walked over, pushed aside the bushes, and saw a half-foot long, somewhat dry branch lying quietly on the soil.

That faint spiritual intelligence emanated from this branch.

I think when the ancient tree sensed the danger, it attached a trace of its own essence to the fallen branches of its body in desperation, and thus barely escaped the disaster. But if it had not met Zhong Ling, it would not have survived for a few days.

Zhong Ling bent down to pick up the branch, and a strand of pure wood spiritual power passed through her fingertips.

The intelligence on the branches became noticeably more active, conveying a faint sense of closeness.

Her mind moved slightly, and she entered the mustard seed space with the branch.

Zhong Ling carefully inserted the branch into the soil beside the spiritual spring, and took some spiritual spring water to water it carefully.

Almost at the moment when the spiritual spring water fell, a few thin leaves emerged from the originally withered branches at a speed visible to the naked eye, greedily absorbing the essence of the spiritual spring water.

The tree spirit conveyed a joyful and happy emotion, much clearer than before.

Seeing it so full of energy, Zhong Ling's cold eyes also showed a hint of warmth: "From now on, this will be your home. I will call you Xiaolu."

The tender leaves on the branches swayed happily, as if responding to the new name, and rubbed Zhong Ling's fingertips affectionately.
