Chapter 146 Reconciliation
When Lu Xiyan returned to the milk tea shop again, the shop was already dark and the door was locked.
Just as I was about to look for An Ning, a voice, neither loud nor soft, sounded in front of me.
"Western Banquet!"
An Ning heard footsteps not far away. Even though she didn't see anyone, she knew it was him coming, and she quickly waved to him.
Lu Xiyan walked over quickly and saw her sitting on a bluestone step.
She thought that she had waited for him for too long, the milk tea shop was closed, and she had nowhere to go. She was afraid that she would not be able to find him so she did not dare to walk far. So she simply sat on the steps near the milk tea shop and waited for him.
Lu Xiyan reached out and pulled her up, and asked gently, "Have you been waiting for a long time?"
"It's not that long."
An Ning was just about to stand up when she stumbled suddenly and someone held her waist to help her stand steady.
"Ah—" She subconsciously wrapped her hands around Lu Xiyan's waist and frowned slightly, "My legs are numb."
Lu Xiyan lowered his eyes and looked at her uncontrollable left leg, "Hold me."
After he finished speaking, he quickly bent one leg and knelt on one knee. He held An Ning's slender calf with his slender fingers and pressed her with neither too much nor too little force.
An Ning placed her hands on his broad shoulders, lowered her eyes, and saw his straight back. Even when he was squatting with his head lowered, his back did not bend at all.
I could feel the warmth from his fingertips on my calf, along with a strength that was neither light nor heavy.
A warm feeling came over An Ning's heart. Looking at his cold white neck exposed from under his fluffy and refreshing black short hair, she couldn't help but reach out to touch it.
Her hand slid from his hair to his neck, then gently stroked his jawline and landed on his ear.
Lu Xiyan's back trembled slightly, and he felt her hand gently pinching his earlobe.
"Xiyan." Her gentle and sweet voice sounded from above.
"Hmm?" He raised his head, his gentle eyes filled with smile.
"My mom said that people with nice earlobes are blessed." An Ning pinched his soft ears with her hands. "You have nice ears. You must be very, very blessed."
After saying that, she squatted down, put her arms around his neck, and looked into his eyes.
"Okay, my legs are no longer numb." She smiled sweetly, "Thank you, Xiyan."
Lu Xiyan tilted his head and kissed her on the cheek, "Don't you want to ask who I just met?"
An Ning shook her head, "No."
"Aren't you curious?"
An Ning met his deep eyes, which contained not only the warm yellow light, but also her.
"I know that no matter who you met or what you said, you will resolve it. You know your limits, and I trust you."
The fact that he could come back to see her meant that he had solved the problem.
Otherwise, he would have been on his way back to Jinghai now.
Lu Xiyan's eyes trembled slightly, and a beautiful smile appeared on the corners of his lips, "What if I meet Cheng Wanwan?"
"Then you came to see me." An Ning said with a smile, "It proves that in your heart, I am more important than her."
Besides, he had admitted with his own mouth that he didn't love Cheng Wanwan.
So An Ning was not panicked at all.
"Yeah." Lu Xiyan nodded approvingly, "You are the most important."
He pulled her up and walked along the roadside towards the parking lot.
"Western Banquet."
An Ning looked at the shadow cast on the road and suddenly asked, "Why don't you race your car anymore?"
She thought that he would not have time to participate in the competition after inheriting the family business, but racing was his biggest hobby, so he would always find time to play it.
But she had never seen him ride a bike in all this time.
"I don't like it anymore."
The man next to him responded calmly.
"You don't like it anymore?" An Ning was a little surprised. "Isn't cycling your biggest hobby? Why do you suddenly dislike it?"
"It's the same thing after riding it too much. There's nothing new about it." Lu Xiyan glanced at her and smiled softly, "I'm tired of it."
An Ning held his hand tightly, "It's not because of me, is it?"
Hearing this, Lu Xiyan stopped and looked at her sideways, "What are you thinking? I just don't like it anymore, what does it have to do with you."
An Ning raised her eyes and said, "I just wonder how it is possible that a hobby that I loved so much before suddenly becomes unpopular?"
"What about you?" Lu Xiyan asked back, "You clearly studied foreign language translation before. With your education and abilities, you could have found a good job. Why did you become a nutritionist?"
An Ning didn't expect that he would suddenly bring the issue up to her, and was speechless for a moment.
"I'm just curious, I don't have to ask." Lu Xiyan touched her hair, "When you want to tell me, I'm always available to listen."
There were so many things about her that he wanted to know, but he had the patience to wait.
Waiting for the day when she is willing to tell me.
An Ning's breathing tightened as she felt his gentle movements.
Her Lu Xiyan seemed to have changed again, becoming as gentle as he was four years ago and being tolerant enough towards her.
"Xiyan." She raised her head and looked at Lu Xiyan's delicate features. "Have we reconciled?"
"Why not?" Lu Xiyan raised the corners of his eyes slightly, and a gentle smile appeared on the corners of his lips. "Being apart doesn't mean we no longer love each other. No matter how many times we meet again, I will still fall in love with you again and again."
"No," he corrected with a smile, "I will always love you."
Under the street light, he looked at the peaceful, tranquil and moving face, and those talking eyes seemed filled with tenderness.
He relied on the memories of the person in front of him to love her day after day and year after year.
"An Ning." His throat rolled, his voice a little hoarse, "You should know better than me that in our relationship, the initiative has always been in your hands."
No matter whether she wanted to leave or come back, when he felt the most wronged, he could only shout out "Why?"
After shouting, he would still run towards her without hesitation.
"I may not be able to give you the whole world, but Lu Xiyan's whole world belongs to An Ning alone."
It doesn't matter if you are a masochist or a loser.
He only hoped that this time, she could hold his hand tighter, tighter.
An Ning's eyes were red and tears were shining in them. Thousands of words were stuck in her throat, and she was choked with sobs and couldn't utter a word.
Lu Xiyan lifted her face and looked at her red eyes, nose and lips. His kisses fell on her forehead, eyes...
An Ning's long eyelashes trembled slightly, and crystal tears slid down from the corners of her eyes, and were kissed away by a pair of soft lips.
As if kissing a rare treasure, he gently kissed the tip of her nose again, and his high nose tip gently rubbed her upturned nose. Finally, he could no longer control the throbbing in his heart, and held her cheeks with both hands and kissed her soft lips.
On the quiet and deserted streets, under the warm yellow street lights, love rolls in the breeze, gently ruffling the hair of lovers.
"Lu Xiyan..."
Hot whispers overflowed from between her lips and teeth. An Ning placed her hands on his chest, which was vibrating with his heartbeat, and couldn't help but murmur, "I really, really love you..."
Please always hold my hand tightly and don't let me fall into the darkness again.
