Chapter 144 The Brutality Prince's Sweetheart 31

"Ye Chen, you will be responsible for entering the palace in two days." Su Ranyan came back to her senses and glanced at the man beside her with her beautiful eyes.

Feng Yechen stared at Su Ranyan with eyes as clear as spring water, but there was an elusive look in his eyes.

He reached out and took the delicate woman in his arms: "Okay. I will support you no matter what you do."

Su Ranyan pretended to be weak and snuggled in the man's arms. Her slender hands stroked the man's chest through his underwear, and a cold light flashed in her eyes.

The first day of the new year is over. The second day is spent visiting relatives.

Mrs. Chu's family home was in the Jiangnan water town, and it would take half a month to get there. So the only option was for the married sister to bring her brother-in-law back, or for the married sister-in-law to bring her brother back to her family home.

Chu Hetian had a wife and two concubines, but the concubine died of a cold in her early years. They had several daughters, and when they came of age, Chu Hetian arranged for them to be married off in grand occasions.

Mrs. Chu gave birth to a daughter and three sons. My second sister was born to her, and she married her as a son-in-law.

However, my second brother-in-law already has a house in the city and has brought his parents from his hometown to the city, so my second sister inevitably has to visit her husband's parents.

On this day, Chu Yanyan, as the youngest man in the mansion and unmarried, had to entertain his sisters and nephew who had returned.

First, the eldest sister came back with her brother-in-law and six-year-old niece. The family chatted for a while, and then the other two sisters appeared as if they had made an appointment.

Chu Yanyan played with her little nephews and nieces on the side, leaving the coping and other chores to Mrs. Chu.

The four women gathered together to chat, while the other brothers-in-law made plans to visit the courtyard; they didn't want to get involved with the women. Originally, they wanted Chu Yanyan to lead the way, but the children kept pestering Chu Yanyan, so they had to let the housekeeper lead the way.

They chatted about this and that, and soon the topic turned to Chu Yanyan.

The eldest sister was dignified and quiet. She looked at Chu Yanyan several times and said casually, "My little brother is already so old. It's time for you to find a good girl for Yanyan."

With the eldest sister's casual response, the third and fourth sisters seemed to have received a signal and responded one after another: "Yes, yes, my husband's family has a younger brother who is the same age as Yanyan and already has a two-year-old son."

"In that case, my husband's cousin has a cousin who is just the right age. I think she is very beautiful and a good match for Yanyan. If Yanyan is interested, I don't mind being a matchmaker." said the third sister.

Seeing this, the fourth sister was not willing to be left behind: "My husband's little sister is pretty and lovely. I believe that I can't take my eyes off her."

The eldest sister also joined in: "My husband's cousin is well-educated and good at writing poetry. Knowing that I was going back to my parents' home, she asked me to bring a high-quality brush to Yanyan."

As the eldest sister spoke, she asked the maid who was following her to present the item in her hand.

The other two were speechless when they saw this.

With a snap.

"Enough." Mrs. Chu's stern voice sounded.

The originally lively scene suddenly became quiet. The laughing children stopped laughing and looked up at their elders.

Mrs. Chu watched them singing the spring song. Her face was gloomy. She rubbed her red palms, pinched a cup of hot tea between her thumb and middle finger, took a sip, and then said, "I know you are concerned about Yanyan's marriage, but you don't have to show your little thoughts so obviously."

"Mom, we are just concerned about my younger brother." Fourth Sister Chu argued in a low voice.

Madam Chu sneered: "Well, thank you for your concern. Your father and I will naturally find a marriage for Yanyan."

Although those concubines' daughters married well, their cousins' families were still far inferior to their own in status.

If she had to find someone for Chu Yanyan, she had to find a lady from a noble family with a similar status to the Prime Minister's Mansion, who was well-educated, well-mannered, and had the demeanor of a lady from a noble family. How could it be any other cat or dog?

But that was before. Now that things have happened, they are still under discussion.

Mrs. Chu was so angry that they didn't dare to say anything.

Seeing this, Sister Chu hurriedly tried to warm up the situation and changed the subject.

Mrs. Chu had finally come back and didn't want to embarrass them, so she had to continue.

Chu Yanyan was accompanied by several nephews and nieces, each of whom was holding a rabbit lantern in their hands, and no matter how Chu Yanyan tried to grab it, they refused to give it to him.

So he asked the children, "Do you like the rabbit lantern?"

"I like it. Uncle, it's not that we don't want to give it to you, but we only have one. If we give it to you, we will have no more." A nephew who had just changed his teeth said in a baby voice.

Chu Yanyan blinked: "Well, do you like carrots?"

"I don't like it." The youngest one answered honestly.

"Huh? What does this have to do with our liking of rabbit lanterns?" asked another niece.

Chu Yanyan's eyes widened as she began to make up stories: "Because if you like rabbit lanterns, you must like carrots."

"Really?" The older child showed doubt in his eyes and didn't believe what Chu Yanyan said.

"Hehe, it's fake." Chu Yanyan replied with a smile.

"Tsk~"

"My little uncle is lying. Be careful, you might get bitten by the Nian beast."

Chu Yanyan teased them: "Humph, if I have to catch someone, I'll catch you. The Nian beast loves children the most."

"No~"

Chu Yanyan mingled with the children.

After the eldest sister and others had their afternoon meal, they all went back.

After sending the last couple away, Mrs. Chu looked at Chu Yanyan who was standing aside. Seeing her son's face always filled with smiles, she thought of the sad things that happened before. She said nothing, tears came out of the corners of her eyes, and she wiped them a few times with a handkerchief.

Her poor little son.

Chu Yanyan turned around and prepared to go back, when she saw Madam Chu wiping her tears. She couldn't help but ask in confusion, "Mom, what's wrong with you?"

"It's okay." Mrs. Chu returned to normal and waved her hand: "Go and say hello to your grandmother."

"Oh." Chu Yanyan understood.

After Chu Yanyan visited her grandmother, her elder brother and sister-in-law all returned from her mother's home.

When it was getting dark, my second sister and brother-in-law came back and seemed a little upset, but they quickly returned to normal and integrated into the big family.

Chu Yanyan thought that the second year of junior high school was already busy enough for him, but he didn't expect that the third year would be even more difficult.

Chu Hetian's friends in official circles came to visit with their wives and daughters. What could their intention be in bringing young women with them? They were after the unmarried young master of Prime Minister Chu's family.

Of course they wouldn't say it explicitly, but it still made Chu Yanyan feel very uncomfortable.
