"She is my sister, Chu Jiaojiao, and this is the international student Lukar." Chu Yanyan introduced them to Gu Jianheng.
"Oh." When Gu Jianheng heard that this woman was Chu Yanyan's sister, his expression immediately became flattering and kind. "Sister... No, hello beautiful, my name is Gu Jianheng."
Chu Jiaojiao stared at Gu Jianheng's face. "Are you Gu Jianheng? A junior from our alma mater, Nanyang No. 1 Middle School?"
She seemed unsure and checked again.
Gu Jianheng was confused. When he was in No. 1 Middle School, he certainly knew Chu Yanyan's sister, but he didn't seem to have any dealings with her. Why did he feel like she knew him?
He was confused, but he still said, "I am, what's wrong?"
"I have a classmate who has a crush on you. She has had a crush on you for several years. Can you give me your contact information?" Chu Jiaojiao asked.
Oh, that's what I wanted to ask.
Gu Jianheng's expression faded. "Sorry, tell her I already have someone I like."
"Oh, so that's it." Chu Jiaojiao understood.
Chu Yanyan, standing nearby, felt a mixture of relief and heartache upon hearing this. Relieved, he no longer had to doubt Gu Jianheng's sexual orientation. On the other hand, he felt a bit upset because Gu Jianheng already had someone he liked.
Chu Yanyan clenched her fingers, "Sis, since you've seen it too, you should give up, right?"
Chu Jiaojiao glanced at Gu Jianheng for a few seconds, regained her composure, and replied, "Yeah."
Rukar was going crazy. He raised his hands in pain and continued in his broken Chinese, "Oh, Jiao, do you have any other places? I really can't stand the environment in the dormitory. It's very, very hot. It's unbearable."
Chu Jiaojiao frowned, "Maybe I can ask in the school housing group."
Chu Yanyan glanced at him and said, "If you can't stand it, you can choose to buy a fan to solve this problem. You are here to learn, not just to enjoy life."
When Rukar heard Chu Yanyan's words, no matter how careless he was, he could tell that Chu Yanyan had ill intentions towards him. He chuckled, "I heard from my friend that the neighboring university provides a good environment for international students like us, with individual single apartments, free accommodation and tuition, and study subsidies. How come the conditions are the opposite at Hua University? If I had known, I wouldn't have come here in the first place."
If he hadn't heard that there were many beautiful girls at Hua University, he wouldn't have come to study at this school.
Rukar stopped pretending.
Gu Jianheng understood a little from his accent. He walked out and faced the black man with a gloomy expression. "So what are you doing here?"
"I came here just to make more Chinese friends, but your environment makes me feel sorry for you. Otherwise, why would I come here if you Chinese people gave preferential treatment to foreigners like us?" Rukar said, changing his tone and shrugging his shoulders.
Chu Jiaojiao lost her composure after hearing this. She thought the other party came here to study because they loved their country's culture, but it turned out that it was only because their country's foreign study policy was better than other countries. "Rukar, is that what you think?"
"Jiao, I'm not lying, this is the truth."
Gu Jianheng clenched his fists. "We have a population of almost 1.5 billion, with a total of 34 first-level administrative regions. On average, only the top 500 students from each administrative region can enter Huada. And there are tens of millions of candidates. Those who rank at the top of each administrative region are the best. You guys got in easily, but you don't cherish it. You even look down on me. The quality of your country really makes me feel sad."
He put a lot of effort into getting into this university, but just because he was a foreigner and met the policy for international students, he was let in after a simple test of his Chinese proficiency. What was even more annoying was that the tuition burden was reduced.
How could they not know about the country's policy on studying abroad? It was forced by the situation, but it was a bit hurtful to the Chinese people.
