So Chu Yanyan spent the entire day in the greenhouse. But there was also an advantage: he found a good piece of land to grow carrots.
The thing that was most in stock in the shed was land. When her son asked, Mother Chu readily agreed and helped him loosen the soil, sow seeds, water the plants, and jointly care for the growth of the carrots.
By the time they finished, it was already dark, and the only lights around were the fill lights in the shed and the solar lights outside the warehouse.
Chu Yanyan moved the hoe into the warehouse, and then walked out.
Mother Chu stood at the edge of the door. After Chu Yanyan came out, she turned off the lights inside and locked the door. Then she took out her flashlight and illuminated the way home.
"Baby, are you happy with that person?" Mother Chu asked about him and Que Buyu.
Chu Yanyan recalled the time when he was with Que Buyu, when Que Buyu often took care of him. He nodded and said, "It was quite happy."
Mother Chu turned her head to look at Chu Yanyan beside her and sighed, "You still have a long way to go and need to get used to each other. The future is unpredictable and may have both good and bad consequences."
"Yeah." Chu Yanyan responded softly. How could he not know? Because of his many experiences, he had doubts about the mission objectives. "Mom, how did your relationship with Dad last from the beginning until now?"
Mother Chu smiled as she spoke, gazing at the twinkling stars in the sky. "Back then, your father and I were constantly trying to get along. We had our fights, but every time we calmed down, we couldn't bear to part ways. We've managed to get by for so many years. Now that I've come to terms with it, I realize that perhaps I'm one of those people who enjoys the joys of life."
The village's street lights illuminate the cement road, and from time to time you can hear dogs barking and cats meowing.
As soon as they walked into the yard, they smelled the aroma of fried eggs. Smoke rolled out from the chimney above the kitchen and finally merged into the darkness.
Mother Chu put down the flashlight, walked to the faucet to wash her hands again, and shouted to the man busy in the kitchen, "Dad, is dinner ready?"
"It's almost done." Father Chu heard the sound and came out with a shovel in his hand and an apron on his body. He glanced at Mother Chu and then his eyes moved to Chu Yanyan. The smile on his face slowly disappeared: "You kid, come over and help quickly."
"Oh." Chu Yanyan had just sat down for a while and had to go help and eat early. He stood up and walked towards the kitchen.
They used a big iron pot at home and burned dried grass.
There was a small stool in front of the stove. Chu Yanyan sat on it, turned around, picked up the hay piled on the ground, grabbed handfuls and put them into the stove pit, watching the fire inside slowly grow.
Mr. Chu was standing somewhere else, cooking skillfully.
There was some silence between father and son.
Father Chu picked up the plate, shoveled the vegetables into the dish, and glanced at Chu Yanyan: "I heard from your mother that you already have a partner?"
"Yeah." Chu Yanyan had been drowsy, but when he heard his father's question, he suddenly woke up and his sleepiness disappeared. He couldn't help but feel nervous. As for his parents, his mother was fine, but his father was a bit of a problem.
Father Chu noticed Chu Yanyan's panic and smiled. He poured oil into the pot, added minced garlic and sautéed it until fragrant, then added beans and asked, "Why are you worried that I won't approve of you? If I don't agree, can you not be with him?"
"Of course not." Chu Yanyan replied.
"That's it, you are an adult now, you have your own opinions, and as parents and people who have been through it, we can only give you some suggestions. As for whether you listen to it or not, and whether it is suitable for you, that's up to you. Your future is to live with that boy. If you feel that he is suitable for you and he feels that he is suitable for you, then you can be together." When he said this, Father Chu spoke in a serious tone.
Chu Yanyan smiled and said, "Dad, I'm glad you think so."
"I'm not a pedantic person. When are you going to bring that kid over here?"
"Soon. I'll bring him over after he finishes the game."
"oh."
"What are you two talking about so happily?" Mother Chu walked in and teased them.
"nothing."
"Okay."
After cooking, Chu Yanyan went to call her grandparents over. Grandma's family had a cat named Ah Hua and a large yellow dog named Da Hua, running around in the yard. Her uncle's daughter also came over to eat.
The whole family is happy.
