Another place.
There was a woman and two men, groping in the woods with lanterns in their hands.
The soles of the boots made a crisp clicking sound as they stepped on the dead yellow leaves.
"Wow-wah--" a hoarse crow cry sounded.
The hearts of those walking in the darkness were moved. They looked up and saw a crow resting on a tree trunk.
"Sultan, are you sure there are vampires around here?" The question was asked by a young man with short, slightly curly hair. He wore a black leather windbreaker, thick canvas and long boots. He held a silver dagger in his hand and a wooden stake wrapped with garlic hung on his shoulder.
The woman named Cohen Sultan wore a purple felt hat that held down her golden curly hair. She was dressed in a pale white priest's dress. She raised her head, revealing her clear eyes. She held a silver cross in her hand, and her face was serious. "Really? My grandfather's notes mentioned that in the deepest part of this forest there is a castle surrounded by white roses. Inside, lives a vampire noble."
In order to convince everyone, she lowered her head and rummaged through the cloth bag she was carrying and found a yellowed sheepskin book.
They moved closer, illuminating the book in the Sultan's hand.
"Found it." After flipping through a few pages, Sudan finally saw the part she had marked.
Explanation: In the Nightless Forest, there stands a castle, surrounded by roses. The vines entwined around the castle will attack intruders. The castle is protected by a barrier that disappears only at night, revealing the towering, majestic castle, and awakening its contents...
The notes ended here. The next page was stained with black blood and the handwriting on it was blurred.
But they are sure that there are vampires here. Next, no matter what, they will reach the castle and explore the secrets inside.
"Oh, I see." After reading the record, the initially skeptical young man, Kuros Garcia, finally believed it. He looked at a handsome young man with similar attire, a little taller than him, and with an oriental appearance. "Zhuang, what do you think?"
Zhuang Danran came back to his senses and said, "We've been busy running around in this forest all day and don't know the dangers inside. Why don't we rest here first and make plans later."
After he finished speaking, a cold wind suddenly blew from the dense forest.
The forest was so vast that it was easy to get lost. They walked all day but still couldn't find the marked point near the castle.
Vampires are active at night and hide during the day. They haven't rested yet. If we go there now, we'll just be delivering blood bags. It's better to take a rest.
"OK."
After deciding to rest, Garcia took out a blanket from his bag, spread it on the ground, and picked up firewood to build a bonfire.
"Hey, there's a dead bird here." Sultan said in surprise.
When they took a look, they saw that the dead bird was shriveled, with yellow worms crawling on its white feathers. Its eyes had been occupied by worms, which were crawling out of its eye sockets, and a foul smell was spreading all around.
"It's just a dead bird, there's nothing to be afraid of." Garcia said.
"I didn't say I was scared, it just looked disgusting."
The Sultan was debating with Garcia.
Meanwhile, Zhuang Danran was quietly picking up some dry wood to add to the fire. Suddenly, his mind struck him, and a serious expression appeared on his face. He raised his head and gazed fixedly in the darker direction: "There's something over there."
When Sudan and Garcia heard this, their expressions instantly became serious and they picked up their weapons.
Whoosh~
The wind blew in the woods.
The bonfire flickered.
They carried lanterns and weapons and headed in the direction of the thing.
Snap——
Zhuang Danran stopped and said, "That thing left."
Although no one said they were afraid, their facial expressions relaxed tacitly.
Zhuang Danran's strength as a blood hunter lies in that he can sense approaching danger from ten meters away.
That thing is definitely not a human. Now that it has appeared, they are destined to be unsafe tonight and must be vigilant at all times.
Hidden in the darkness, Chu Yanyan stared at the black-haired young man in the crowd, his nails sharp. He was thirsty and wanted to drink that man's blood. He smelled so good. But the smell around him was so unpleasant that he couldn't get close.
"Xiao Qi, think of a way. I want to drink that man's blood." Chu Yanyan ordered and licked his dry lips with his tongue.
"Oh, the system store prohibits the transaction of human blood. I will ask for you if there is blood from other animals." The system said worriedly while giving Chu Yanyan a stun spray.
After Chu Yanyan got the stun spray, he flashed slightly and walked forward.
His figure was like a phantom, and no trace of him could be found.
But before he arrived, something else had already gotten there.
A group of bats flew out of the tree hole, with red eyes, flapping wings, and bared fangs, and attacked them.
"Sultan, use fire." Zhuang Danran said, holding a lantern in one hand and a silver knife in the other to chop at the bats.
Garcia grabbed the garlic from the stake and threw it at them, not dropping his weapon.
Garlic has a pungent smell that keeps some bats away.
"Okay." Sultan didn't care about the corner of her clothes. She squatted down, grabbed the torch with both hands, stood up and threw it at the bats.
Soon, the ground was covered with bat carcasses.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak"
The bats that were still alive and lying on the ground made squeaking sounds, as if they were trying to turn over, but as the temperature rose, they could no longer struggle.
The thrilling event was finally over. They burned the bat corpses, breathing in the air while breathing slightly.
The Sultan knelt on his knees, holding the cross in his hands, and muttered: "May God bless you, Amen."
Garcia sat by the side stringing the scattered garlic bulbs. His vision blurred as he did so. Sudan's voice beside him faded. He realized something was wrong and looked up at Zhuang Danran: "We... uh..."
Before he could say anything, his head dropped.
Zhuang Danran was no exception. He frowned, knowing that they had fallen into a trap. As his sight became a line, he saw a white-haired figure appear in front of him.
With a thud.
He fell to the ground, clutching the knife tightly before fainting.
Chu Yanyan put away the unused knockout spray, walked over to the person who exuded a sweet scent, reached out and touched the young man's cheek, parted his hair, admired this oriental face, and then tore open the collar of his prey to expose his neck.
He stretched out his legs, leaned over and pressed on the prey, lowered his head close to the blood vessels in the prey's neck, grinned to reveal his sharp canine teeth, and bit down. His originally dark eyes instantly turned red.
