Chapter 81 The Years of Educated Youths

Li Hexing stared at the boy's serious expression. His eyes couldn't deceive anyone. He pursed his lips and said coldly, "I don't believe it. You don't need to be so kind."

Chu Yanyan raised an eyebrow: "Why are you pretending to be kind? I'm the one who offered to help you." He paused for a moment and said, "If you think I'm doing you a disservice, then I'm sorry, I won't help you."

Although Chu Yanyan said this, she kept her hands on it and looked at the sturdy man in front of her with expectation.

"You don't know... Never mind, whatever you want."

Li Hexing still didn't say that he was disliked by the villagers. For some reason, he was still a little afraid that the boy would show that kind of shock and fear. He pulled the cart forward.

"Oh." Chu Yanyan continued to push the cart and followed.

Seeing the first quantitative change between the two, Xiao Qi set off fireworks in the system space: "Yan Yan, come on, we will take him down sooner or later!"

"Why do we have to take him down? Aren't we trying to rescue him?" Chu Yanyan asked.

The system said: "Yes, rescue him. Based on the previous two experiences, I think it is best for you to become his lover."

Chu Yanyan pushed the cart, frowning as she chatted with the system in her mind: "So, the previous two times I completed the mission only after I became lovers with the target?"

"Yeah, yes." Xiao Qi was also helpless. He originally wanted to go the family route, but it didn't work, so he could only go the lover route.

Chu Yanyan became even more hesitant after hearing this. If he said that, he would no longer be the innocent rabbit he used to be. "But I..."

"Li Hexing is a farmer. He has land and knows how to grow radishes. His radishes are juicy."

"I can also own my own land and grow radishes." Chu Yanyan retorted. The radishes he grew were juicy and the most delicious.

Xiao Qi said, "But the land in this background has already been allocated and is legally binding. The body you are in has no parents and is a pauper, while Li Hexing has one acre of land. After liberation, he will be allocated more land."

"But I am a male, and he is also a male. Although people don't mind in the animal kingdom, don't humans believe in the principle of like repels like and opposites attract? Li Hexing shouldn't like men." Chu Yanyan's analysis was well-reasoned.

The system sighed. It had thought so at first, but it was slapped in the face. "How can you know if he likes men if you haven't tried? Everything takes time to get along. Just wait and see."

After the system finished speaking, it took the initiative to cut off the chat with Chu Yanyan.

Chu Yanyan was left alone to think. The system was considering its performance and had no reason to lie to herself.

That's how it is.

Chu Yanyan was thinking about something and didn't notice what he stepped on. When he felt a sticky sensation coming from under his shoe, he let go of his hand and looked down. The edge of his left shoe was covered with dark brown, black and muddy cow dung.

There was a foul smell.

Chu Yanyan froze in place.

Even Li Hexing in front smelled it. He stopped and looked at Chu Yanyan who had fallen behind.

He glanced at the thing on Chu Yanyan's shoes, then looked at the boy's dull face. He wanted to laugh, but still couldn't laugh. He said, "Didn't I just remind you to watch your step?"

How could he hear what Li Hexing was saying when he was chatting with the system?

Chu Yanyan kicked his legs and shook off the marks on his shoes. The marks were all over the ground, but the shoes were still seriously stained. He looked at the person in front of him with a look of bewilderment and hopelessness: "How should we solve this problem?"

In the end, Li Hexing brought Chu Yanyan to his home and drew water from the well to wash the cow dung off his shoes.

The cart with the mud truck was parked at the door.

In the yard, Chu Yanyan sat on a small stool with four low legs, one foot in the air, his chin supported by his hands, staring at Li Hexing who was brushing his shoes with a brush made of dry grass.

There was a small courtyard in front of Li Hexing's house. In addition to the main house, there was a thatched shed on the left and a building under construction on the right. When he came in, he found traces of graffiti on the wall outside Li Hexing.

Li Hexing was brushing his shoes and glanced up at the sitting boy. He was just staring at him and had no intention of coming up to help. He sighed and said, "City people are just pampered."

After cleaning them, Li Hexing took them and placed them in front of Chu Yanyan. He began to chase the customer away and said, "They're clean now. The shoes need a day or two to dry. You can take them back and dry them."

Chu Yanyan didn't stand up, staring at the sweat flowing down Li Hexing's forehead. There was a charm in it. Perhaps he could try the method Xiaoqi mentioned.

It was around one or two o'clock in the afternoon. Although the sun was not shining, one would sweat after exercising for a long time, not to mention that Li Hexing had to pull a cart of soil back along the way.

Li Hexing felt a little uneasy when he was stared at. He reached out and touched his forehead, thinking that cow dung had splashed on his face. "What's wrong?"

Chu Yanyan retracted his gaze and said, "Nothing."

"Oh?" Li Hexing was half-believing.

Chu Yanyan picked up the wet shoe and put it on, smiling: "Thank you, brother. I don't even know your name."

Li Hexing watched Chu Yanyan put on the wet shoes directly, his brows furrowed unconsciously. "My name is Li Hexing. Why are you wearing wet shoes? It's easy to get rheumatism. When you go back, just walk barefoot on the less pebbled side road."

"I'm afraid of hurting my feet, so I'd better wear them. It's just a short distance anyway." Chu Yanyan explained.

After he explained this, Li Hexing frowned even deeper: "Wait for me."

He left these words and walked into the house.

Chu Yanyan walked to the door and wanted to go in and take a look.

Li Hexing suddenly came out with a pair of wooden shoes in his hands, which looked like plastic flip-flops.

"Lift your feet." Li Hexing squatted down and said.

"Oh." Chu Yanyan raised his foot.

Li Hexing took off his shoes and put on flip-flops. After changing one foot, Li Hexing looked up at the boy and said, "The other one."

"Okay." Chu Yanyan obeyed.

After both feet were changed, Li Hexing stood up and looked at the shoes that were half the size of his feet: "Take them off and I'll modify them for you."

Chu Yanyan watched as Li Hexing found a hand-pulled saw and cut at the wooden shoes for a long time.

As she watched, Chu Yanyan yawned a few times at the harsh sound. When she was about to fall asleep, the harsh sound finally stopped.

After Li Hexing finished, he brought them over to Chu Yanyan to put on. When he found that they fit well, he said with satisfaction, "Don't wear your wet shoes for now. Wear these clogs and go back."

"Thank you, Brother Xing." Chu Yanyan thanked.

"Yeah." Li Hexing accepted his thanks and then remembered something. He said, "If you meet me on the road next time, don't say hello to me."

"Why?"

"No reason."
