Rabbit and Phoenix 1

The Book of Rites, Chapter 9 of Li Yun, records that the four ancient spirits were the dragon, phoenix, turtle and unicorn.

The little rabbit lives in the ancient Shennongjia.

In the ancient Shennongjia dense forest, all kinds of animals lived, but the big and small monsters here were more friendly than in other places, and each had their own territory.

According to Feng's recollection, the little rabbit fell from the sky. It was sleeping that day and something hit its precious feathers.

The phoenix was startled awake. It stretched its neck and poked the white ball that fell on its feathers with its long, pointed beak.

The white ball was pushed by its beak and rolled onto the grass without any trouble, and a lot of grass debris was stuck on its fluffy white fur.

"Hmm." The white ball that was originally curled up into a ball woke up, revealing its two ears. Its crystal red eyes were dazed for a moment as it took in the surrounding scenery and the big bird next to it with dense, fiery golden feathers that reflected the flowing light and a golden silk-like crest.

Seeing the big bird, the rabbit head that had been stretched out turned into a ball and retracted again.

Feng looked at the little ball shaking all over and couldn't help but feel amused. He rubbed the little ball's fur from the side with his beak again and asked, "Hey, little monster, where are you from?"

The rabbit peeked out its red eyes from its fur, its two pale pink ears drooping on its white fur. It asked timidly, "Will you eat me?"

The rabbit's voice was a little soft, but it was clear it was a male. It looked at the white ball in front of it calmly, "Does this have anything to do with the question I want to ask you?"

The rabbit blinked and said seriously: "If you eat me, I won't tell you; if you don't eat me, I can tell you."

Tsk.

"Okay, I won't eat you, you can tell me."

"Promise me."

"I promise."

After getting the big bird's assurance, the rabbit slowly said, "I don't know where I came from."

“…”

The air condensed instantly.

Feng chuckled.

The rabbit quickly retreated again in fear, and said in a trembling voice, "You said you wouldn't eat mine."

Seeing it shrink back again, Feng laughed at it without hiding his laughter, "You are a male rabbit, why are you so timid? Are you acting like a shrinking rabbit?"

"No!" The rabbit immediately raised its head and stared back at the big bird with its crystal red eyes.

The phoenix stood up and flapped its wings, and the strong wind it created almost blew the little rabbit away.

Seeing this, the rabbit wanted to shrink back, but after hearing what the big bird in front of it said, he did not shrink back.

Even so, the phoenix still breathed a sigh of relief. The phoenix retracted its wings, proudly raised its neck, and walked forward with a noble gait.

"Big bird, where are you going?" asked the rabbit when he saw it was about to leave.

"Foraging for food." Feng said concisely.

Speaking of food, the rabbit's stomach growled. It was hungry too and wanted to eat.

Seeing the figure of the phoenix gradually walking away, it hesitated for a while, and finally followed it, "Big Bird, can you wait for me?"

"I'm not a big bird, I'm a phoenix."

"Oh~Feng Da Niao, can you wait for me?"

“…”

Even so, Feng slowed down his pace and waited for the rabbit to trot over.

The phoenix's food is usually the fruits growing on bamboo. When the bamboo does not bear fruits, it eats the spiritual fruits grown with spring water.

It just so happens that bamboo has grown fruits these days, so of course it eats the bamboo fruits.

When it reaches its destination, it spreads its wings and flies up to bite the bamboo flesh.

After the rabbit caught up, it looked around but didn't see Feng. When it looked up, it saw Feng, "Feng, what are you doing?"

"Eat." Feng's faint response came from the sky.

"Oh." The rabbit understood. It looked around and thought it was time to look for food. It looked inside, trying to find wild vegetables suitable for it to eat.

Walking into the dense grass, it was so hungry that it didn't notice the danger coming.

Suddenly, a tail quickly wrapped around the rabbit that was eating happily.

The rabbit was lifted up, still chewing some wild vegetables in its mouth, looking confused until it saw the snake head with short horns, and the wild vegetables in its mouth fell out.

This bamboo forest was near a pool of water, and in the water lived a large green dragon. It looked at the rabbit in front of it and said, "You don't have to go out today, food will be delivered to you."

"Don't come over." When the rabbit saw its natural enemy, its fur trembled from the bottom of its heart.

"Yo, it's still a little monster."

The phoenix, which was eating bamboo seeds, sensed the presence of other monsters. It looked down and saw a large green snake with the snow-white rabbit wrapped around its tail. It quickly flew down and shouted, "Green Dragon, don't touch it."

Hearing Feng's words, Qing Jiao raised his head and looked at Feng, "Feng, when did you start eating meat?"

"Feng, help." When the rabbit heard Feng's voice, expectation appeared in his eyes, hoping that the big bird could save it.

"I don't eat meat." Feng said, noticing the rabbit's eyes, and added, "This rabbit has spiritual awareness."

"Well, it's fine that you eat the fruits in my bamboo forest, but you also bring rabbits here to eat the grass in my house." Qing Jiao said, loosening his tail, and the rabbit immediately fell down.

When it was about to land, Feng stretched out his wings to prevent it from falling into the mud rabbit, and retorted, "You don't eat grass."

"Thank you, big bird." The rabbit lay on the phoenix's soft and smooth feathers, full of joy.

"It's so dirty." Feng frowned, put the rabbit down and wiped his feathers.

When the rabbit heard this, he arched his back and said, "You can rub it on my fur, it's okay."

"No need." Feng refused.

"I don't mind."

"don't want."
