Chapter 24: Quarrel

"After Grandpa passed away, I realized what it felt like to have no one supporting me. It was so sad. At one point, I couldn't hold on any longer and wanted to reconcile with you..."

"But I haven't even started talking yet, and you're arranging this and that for me like you did when we were little. Can't you just let me make my own choices? I've already compromised..."

At this point, Wang Siyi began to burst into tears, crying as she spoke.

"In your eyes, I can't have my own ideas. Everything I do must follow your plans. It was like this when I was a child, and it's still like this when I grow up..."

"Now I want to give up singing, my favorite thing. I don't blame you. It's my own fault for not persisting. But why, why do you even have to control who I like and who I want to spend the rest of my life with..."

"I'm the one who will spend the rest of my life with him, not you, Dad, or Mom. Why do you want to deprive me of this right? Just because you're my parents..."

At this point, Wang Siyi was already sobbing uncontrollably. After a pause, she suddenly raised her tear-stained face to Wang Weimin and looked at him with red eyes: "If that's the case, I'd rather not have parents..."

After saying that, he ignored the dazed Wang Weimin and ran out of Li Changle's room, hid in the master bedroom and locked the door.

I buried my face in the quilt and started crying loudly. I cried very sadly. From childhood to adulthood, except for the time when my grandfather passed away, I had never felt sadder than this time. My tears soon wet the quilt, but I couldn't stop them.

Wang Siyi thought about what she had just said. In addition to feeling sad and upset about her parents' behavior, she found it even more difficult to accept the fact that she had to leave Li Changle.

Li Changle stopped disturbing them from the moment they started talking, wanting them to have a good talk.

Cook your own meal first, and when it is ready, it will be better to eat and chat at the table.

Li Changle observed and concluded for a long time that when Wang Siyi was at the dinner table, her mood was always the best at that moment of the day.

But unexpectedly, instead of waiting for the father and daughter to come out in peace, I only saw Wang Siyi with red eyes and tears in her eyes, crying much harder than the last time on the stairs.

Li Changle's heart tightened and she wanted to follow, but she found that Wang Siyi had locked the door and she couldn't get in.

Knocked on the door a few times.

"Hey? Open the door!"

"Open the door, Wang Siyi!"

Li Changle was anxious. She had cried so hard last time, and this time it was even worse. She didn't know what the two of them said in the room.

Looking into his room, Wang Weimin was still standing there in a daze, not moving.

Li Changle didn't know what to do, but in her heart she no longer had such respect for the middle-aged man.

He must have said something very excessive to Wang Siyi, or wanted to do something very excessive, which is why Wang Siyi acted like this.

I guess the last time I cried at the stairs was related to him.

Li Changle had no choice but to sit on the sofa in the hall. The food was ready, but he had no appetite.

He has become accustomed to Wang Siyi sitting opposite him at the dinner table. He would rather not cook if Wang Siyi is not there.

Wang Weimin was still in shock. His own daughter actually wanted to sever ties with him.

After thinking about it, he realized that he just wanted his daughter to have a better life in the second half of her life, and he didn't realize that he had done anything excessive.

But in his daughter's opinion, he felt that he was an emotionless machine, like a puppet.

He has realized that his approach may not be right, as he knows where he went wrong.

It's really hard to believe that my daughter would say she wants to break off relations with me, given her personality.

He didn't come back to his senses when Wang Siyi ran out, thinking of the resolute and painful look in Wang Siyi's eyes when she passed by him.

It made him feel heartbroken, and he quickly walked out and looked at the closed door of the master bedroom.

"Siyi, open the door..."

"What Dad said might not be right, don't take it to heart. Open the door, Siyi. If you have anything to say, come out and talk to Dad..."

Li Changle watched Wang Weimin knocking on the door and talking to it without saying anything.

What were you doing earlier? Wang Siyi has almost no shortcomings except that he is a little thin-skinned and stupid when he is sick.

She has a gentle personality and is generous to others. In short, Li Changle doesn't think it's an exaggeration to use all the beautiful adjectives to describe her.

It was hard for Li Changle to imagine that she could make someone like Wang Siyi so heartbroken.
