He got kissed by the female lead at age 20?!

He got kissed by the female lead at age 20?!

That's far from enough, sister.

Yan Sui stammered, "Wh-what?"

"Sister, you know perfectly well what I'm asking." Lu Shutian laughed cheerfully, then continued, "I already told you that Jin Lan will be difficult to deal with, didn't the producer tell you?"

Yan Sui hummed in agreement.

Lu Shutian smiled and said, "Sister, I can help you with this."

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Yan Sui understood this principle well. Lu Shutian said she could help, but what would she give in return?

"Well..." Yan Sui was still thinking about how to respond when she was interrupted again.

Lu Shutian hummed softly, then made a whimpering sound like a puppy whining.

"Sister, I want to eat your cooking. Can you come to my house and cook me a meal?"

Well, I'm going to be forced to drink again.

Yan Sui really wanted to poison herself into being mute before going to Lu Shutian's house.

[Don't worry, host. I'll remind you just like I did yesterday, even if you're drunk this time.]

Yan Sui sighed inwardly, "Okay, thank you, system."

Ignoring Jian Liyun's increasingly unpleasant expression, Yan Sui agreed to Lu Shutian's request.

"Do you really have to go?" Jian Liyun's voice was so cold it almost froze Yan Sui.

Yan Sui coughed lightly, "I have to go."

Jian Liyun paused, originally intending to give up, but ultimately couldn't resist.

She frowned and said, "But why must we collaborate with Jin Lan? As a director, she's too inexperienced and doesn't have any representative works that she can hold her own. If you're worried about my future resources, I have a few directors I get along well with, and I can communicate with those people."

“This is different…” Yan Sui stammered, unsure of what to say.

As a supporting female character in the book, Jian Liyun has a good career, but compared to the female lead and the male lead, it is still worlds apart.

What Yan Sui needs to do is to get more and better resources for Jian Liyun as much as possible without incurring the wrath of the two main characters.

In the early part of the novel, Jinlan was arguably the best and most cost-effective choice.

Jian Liyun did not ask any further questions.

She simply lowered her eyes, her thick eyelashes trembling slightly with the fluctuations of her emotions.

“Sui Sui,” Jian Liyun’s voice tightened, “you don’t need to go to such lengths for me, and… I’m worried about you.”

I feel sorry for you too.

While Yan Sui was adorable when drunk, Jian Liyun was even less willing to see her with a headache the next day after drinking.

That Lu Shutian is definitely not a kind person.

Jian Liyun just couldn't understand why Yan Sui would insist on jumping into a fire pit when everyone in the entertainment industry is supposed to be shrewd.

Actually, she knew the answer.

She resisted the urge to think too much about it.

Yan Sui waved her hand, "It's okay, having a drink once in a while is no big deal. Alright, don't worry, I know what I'm doing. Besides, I'm your manager, so naturally I'll fight for your bright future."

Jian Liyun's eyebrows drooped, and she looked listless and pitiful.

"Then you should go home early."

"Huh?" Yan Sui asked, puzzled. "I don't have anything to do with you tomorrow. I'll go home after I finish at Miss Lu's place tonight."

"I can't sleep without you."

Jian Liyun's answer reminded Yan Sui of the scene when she first transmigrated here:

Jian Liyun swallowed sleeping pills with ice water, and it seemed that she needed medication to stay asleep.

The medical examination report hadn't come out yet. Yan Sui thought for a moment and said, "Okay, but you have to promise me one thing."

"Go ahead," Jian Liyun said, her mood brightening from cloudy to sunny.

Yan Sui nudged Jian Liyun's arm. "Try not to take sleeping pills if you can avoid it. If that doesn't work, try melatonin first?"

Jian Liyun grasped the hand that was poking at her arm. "Okay, but you have to keep an eye on me for me to behave."

Yan Sui said with a mix of helplessness and amusement, "I'm afraid that if I interfere too much, you'll feel uncomfortable. Your body is your own, you know?"

The driver arrived at that moment, and the two got into the car. Jian Liyun said, "Let me take you to her place first."

Yan Sui readily agreed, "Okay, make sure you eat well when you get home tonight."

And don't even look at He Chenyu's terrible script.

Of course, Yan Sui refrained from saying these words.

...

Forty minutes later.

Ding-dong.

Yan Sui rang the video doorbell.

"Sister," Lu Shutian's voice followed, "Did you see the combination lock?"

Yan Sui looked down. "I saw it."

"The password is 191519."

Yan Sui raised an eyebrow. The female lead just told her the door code like that?

Perhaps he was a bit... overconfident.

But since Lu Shutian had spoken, Yan Sui didn't stand on ceremony anymore and tapped the password screen with her index finger to open the door.

This is a large, single-level apartment with one unit per floor. As the door opened, the first thing that caught her eye was the gray-toned entryway, where a pair of white slippers were placed.

Yan Sui changed into slippers and stepped out of the entryway, only to see a living room so large that she had to turn her head from left to right to see it all.

Huh? Where is Lu Shutian?

"Sister," Lu Shutian's voice came from the right, "come here quickly."

Yan Sui followed the sound and found Lu Shutian busy in the kitchen.

Her medium-length hair, just past her collarbone, was casually tied up, with several strands hanging loosely, brushing against her cheeks with her movements.

Lu Shutian held an iron basin in her right hand and her left hand was covered in paste. "Sister, the strap on the back of my apron is loose. Could you help me tie it?"

Yan Sui quickly went over, grabbed the white ribbons that had come undone with both hands, and tied them back up in a couple of seconds.

"Didn't you say I was supposed to cook?" Yan Sui said, looking at the busy Lu Shutian.

The kitchen countertop was covered with various ingredients, it seemed that Lu Shutian was planning to prepare a Manchu Han Imperial Feast.

Lu Shutian said with a smile, "I was just saying it casually. My sister treated me to dinner last time, so this time I'll cook for her."

Yan Sui stood to the side, somewhat at a loss. "Is there anything I can help with? Should I wash these vegetables first..."

"No need, no need, sister, just wait."

After saying this, Lu Shutian went back to working on the flour in the iron basin. But a few seconds later, she couldn't help but turn her head and sneeze.

Yan Sui stepped forward, "How about I do it?"

Lu Shutian shook her head, then smiled and revealed two small dimples. "No need, sister. It's just that my hair keeps floating around in my face, and it's very itchy."

Yan Sui tentatively suggested, "Shall I tie your hair back up for you? You're busy right now, so it's not convenient."

“Okay,” Lu Shutian readily agreed.

Yan Sui carefully removed the rubber band, and then heard the other person tell her not to move.

"Sister, don't tie your hair yet. There's a patch of my scalp that's a little sore from being tied too tightly. Let me rest for a bit."

"Okay," Yan Sui replied.

Then Yan Sui saw Lu Shutian move her neck and then shake her head and her hair.

Strands of her hair swayed, obscuring Lu Shutian's face and making her expression impossible to discern. ? !

Yan Sui held a white hair tie in her hand, positioned diagonally behind Lu Shutian. She raised her hand to chin level, ready to tie Lu Shutian's hair as soon as she relaxed.

Unexpectedly, Lu Shutian turned her head quite a bit, and Yan Sui felt a tingling sensation in her palm—

First, strands of hair brushed against her palm, then...

It was Lu Shutian's soft lips.

Yan Sui froze on the spot, while Lu Shutian acted as if nothing had happened, saying nonchalantly, "Sorry, sister, I bumped into you by accident."

It wasn't an accident.

"System, could you please stop causing trouble for now?"

After thinking about the system in her mind, Yan Sui coughed lightly and pretended nothing had happened. "It's okay. Are you feeling any better now? If you are, I'll do your hair."

Lu Shutian smiled, but this smile was not as sweet as usual; instead, it was filled with desire and greed.

“Not enough, sister,” Lu Shutian smiled, her eyes crinkling, “I’m far from comfortable enough.”
