Chapter 119 Too Many Things

Music was playing in the ballroom, and the songstresses were twirling their arms in the middle of the dance floor. The glittering things on their clothes made Fu Hange's eyes water, and there were also sounds from their shaking as they danced. They were really putting in more and more effort than the last.

Fu Hange thought to herself, no matter how much they try to please him, the king probably won't be interested, after all, he's so old.

Although she'd seen plenty of older men dating younger women before.

Meng Shayue pulled Fu Hange to sit down, not far from the king.

The scene was somewhat similar to a meal-sharing arrangement, with a long mahogany table in front of them, laden with food and wine, and people sitting opposite them, and so on.

In the middle is a dancer, and her pose... Fu Hange really doesn't want to comment.

Meng Shayue popped a peanut into her mouth: "Hey, looking at all this, have you noticed anything fishy?"

Fu Hange looked around and indeed saw a woman of unparalleled beauty sitting at the very top of the hall, along with the king.

That woman must be Princess Jinxiu.

She was beautiful, wearing a veil, with gorgeous jewels on her forehead, and even the bracelet on her wrist was very valuable. If she were brought back to modern times, she would definitely be able to sell it for a lot of money.

Noticing Fu Hange's distraction, Meng Shayue slapped her on the head: "What are you thinking about!"

Fu Hange slapped him back, frowning as she said, "How could you hit a girl?"

"Are you a girl? You're practically a man!"

puff.

Fu Hange really wanted to beat this jerk to death.

Just then, the king stood up and addressed the guests, saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, today is my daughter's birthday, so I have gathered you all here for a banquet to celebrate. It is a joyous occasion for all. Please enjoy yourselves!"

A chorus of cheers erupted below, all applauding the old king.

At this moment, Meng Shayue whispered in Fu Hange's ear, "When do you think she will be killed?"

"How should I know? Anyway, from now on, we'll keep a close eye on her. If anyone tries to kill her, we'll rush at them immediately."

And with so many people, she didn't believe that they already knew the outcome and couldn't stop things from happening.

Thinking about it that way, Fu Hange also felt that it was quite simple and should be able to finish it quickly.

After a while of eating, drinking, and having fun, Fu Hange kept staring at Jinxiu until her eyes hurt, so she decided to stop and eat something first.

Fu Hange picked up a piece of pastry and put it in her mouth. It was as sweet and soft as glutinous rice, and it also tasted like first love.

"So ancient food can taste this good!" she thought, raising an eyebrow and a smile playing on her lips. Just as she was enjoying the meal, she heard a cry of alarm: "Help! Someone save the emperor!"

Fu Hange's nerves tightened. She hurriedly looked in that direction, only to find Jinxiu lying on the ground with blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.

Her neck was wounded by some kind of hidden weapon, with a large, spiral-shaped gash that was still oozing blood.

Fu Hange's nerves were on edge. She had been watching the whole time, so how could this be? And why?

She just went to eat a pastry, how could she have died?

There were just too many things she couldn't explain. Fu Hange felt like her brain was about to explode. Things weren't as simple as she thought, not at all. She hadn't seen the assassin at all!

The king, holding Jinxiu in his arms, shouted hoarsely, "Investigate! Investigate! Who harmed my Jinxiu! I will make them pay with their blood!"

Then, Jinxiu's blood continued to flow, and the king could only clutch his heart and roar in pain.
