Chapter 14 Can you shut up?

Fu Hange frowned. As a carnivore, she picked up a piece of rib and found a white thing inside.

She put down her chopsticks to look and discovered that it was actually a worm.

She couldn't name it, but she was certain that the worm had been cooked and was somewhat black.

Goosebumps instantly rose on her skin, and a chill ran down her spine. What if she had eaten it? What would have happened?

Qi Shu glanced at her, his smile still perfectly timed.

Fu Hange's expression darkened.

Can you believe this was done by a nineteen-year-old girl?

As she and Qi Shu locked eyes, Tang Yehuai sensed something was wrong and asked, "What's wrong?"

Fu Hange snapped out of her daze, smiled, and shook her head at him: "It's nothing, it's just that Qi Shu's cooking is too delicious."

"If you like it, come home more often, sister-in-law. I'll cook for you again!" Qi Shu laughed, with a wicked grin.

That look seemed to say: Come on, if you dare to come, I dare to do it, but do you dare to eat it?

"That sounds better! Come on, eat more." Mrs. Tang said with satisfaction, putting food on Fu Hange's plate.

The meal was enjoyable, though. She ate whatever Qi Shu ate, figuring she wouldn't harm herself in the process.

However, Qi Shu's taste was different from hers. As if she could see what Fu Hange was thinking, she deliberately picked some unpalatable dishes.

After holding back until the very end, Qi Shu suddenly blurted out something completely unrelated: "I want to enter the entertainment industry."

The whole family was stunned.

"Did you eat too much?" Mrs. Tang frowned.

“I’m serious! My sister-in-law is an actress, and I want to be like her and stand on a bigger stage in the future.”

She was incredibly naive when she said that; if you didn't understand her, you might actually be fooled by her.

"He's just a kid, he should focus on his studies. Why is he going to the entertainment industry?" Mrs. Tang said.

Qi Shu feigned pitifulness and desperately tried to coax Mrs. Tang: "But I also want to learn from my sister-in-law, and isn't the entertainment industry good? Then why can my sister-in-law go there..."

This was a deadly question; even Mrs. Tang was stumped.

If you say it's bad, wouldn't that imply that Fu Hange is bad?

No, her daughter-in-law is wonderful in every way!

“Just eat your food! How old is your sister-in-law? You’re not even twenty yet, you should be in school. Why don’t you ever listen to our advice?”

Mrs. Tang gets angry just talking about this. She used to like Qi Shu quite a bit when he was brought back.

No one hates someone for no reason. She still remembered that she wanted to be nice to Qi Shu, so she pretended to be pitiful and obedient.

But one day she overheard Qi Shu badmouthing her and Mr. Tang behind their backs on his way to school, and how Qi Shu acted like a delinquent at school because of his adopted status.

She knew that the child was unclean.

The more she tried to teach him, the more Qi Shu would feign pitifulness and turn to Tang Yehuai for help.

Every time, her good son would say, "Never mind, Qi Shu is still young, take it slow."

Later, she really stopped caring, and what was the result?

They're aiding and abetting evil! Qi Shu's thoughts have become increasingly complex over the years, more complex than anyone can fathom.

"Mom, this is so unfair to me. Why can my sister-in-law be an actress, but I can't? Don't you want me to have a good life? Don't you want me to have a good future?"

Seeing her affected and aggrieved expression, Fu Hange felt increasingly annoyed.

Why bring her into everything? Are you trying to make things difficult for her?

She was puzzled; what had she done to offend her?

Furious, she snapped, "Can you shut up?"
