Chapter 144 No more food

Wait, alone? She twitched the corner of her mouth, then remembered Liu Yunqi and, feeling like she'd found a savior, quickly opened her phone to call her.

Unfortunately, the car behind her braked at high speed and honked its horn several times, forcing her to look up and see who it was.

She saw Gu Yuan staring coldly at her from inside the car. The car door clicked open, seemingly gesturing for her to get in.

Fu Hange got into Gu Yuan's car with an incredulous look on her face, closed the page where she was calling Liu Yunqi, and asked Gu Yuan, "Why did you come out?"

Gu Yuan didn't reply, he just kept driving, perhaps because he didn't want to waste any more words with her.

Back in City C, Gu Yuan stopped in front of a supermarket, and Fu Hange couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing at the supermarket?"

"Buy things."

Sensing Gu Yuan's impatience, Fu Hange didn't ask any more questions.

Fu Hange was still in the car when she heard a commotion outside. She instinctively turned her head to look and immediately recognized the girl as Jiang Xiaoling, who had hit their car that morning.

At the restaurant entrance, Jiang Xiaoling was pushed out by a burly man. She lost her footing and fell heavily to the ground.

Before he could even stand up, the burly man barked, "You, being late for work today is one thing, but now you're not even doing your job properly. You just spilled wine all over a customer. How are you doing your job?"

Jiang Xiaoling squatted on the ground and pleaded, "I'm sorry, boss, I just have a leg injury. I'll work hard once I'm healed."

The burly man shook off her hand and walked into the restaurant, saying, "I'm no use keeping you around. Pack your things and get out."

Fu Hange couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she opened the car door, walked over to them, and helped Jiang Xiaoling up. It was clear that there were beads of blood seeping from her knees.

Fu Hange pulled Jiang Xiaoling behind her and stopped the man, saying, "Boss, even if you're going to fire her, at least pay her the salary she's owed, right?"

The burly man stopped and turned around, looking at her as if she were crazy: "Miss, what's it to you? I have the right to fire my employees, what gives you the right to criticize me?"

Fu Hange wanted to continue arguing with him, but Jiang Xiaoling tugged at her sleeve and shook her head, signaling her to stop.

The burly man had completely entered the restaurant and disappeared from Fu Hange and Jiang Xiaoling's sight. Gu Yuan happened to come out of the supermarket, carrying a large bag of things.

Fu Hange introduced Gu Yuan and Jiang Xiaoling to each other, and suggested that Jiang Xiaoling get in the car to take her home. Jiang Xiaoling was reluctant at first, but after declining several times, she finally gave in and got in the car with Fu Hange. She sat in the back seat without saying a word, just quietly watching the road.

The car slowly started moving. Fu Hange looked at the salmon crackers, canned food, potato chips, and other junk food in Gu Yuan's pockets and couldn't help but ask, "Why did you buy so much useless stuff?"

"Eat." That short, impatient sentence made Fu Hange so angry she wanted to punch him.

Jiang Xiaoling guessed what was going on and tentatively asked, "You probably haven't eaten, right?"

After she finished speaking, Fu Hange clearly felt that Gu Yuan's expression changed, and he seemed a little uncomfortable.

However, Jiang Xiaoling's reminder made Fu Hange immediately understand. It turned out that Gu Yuan couldn't cook, and since there was no housekeeper at home, he had gone out to buy food.

Having caught her out, she deliberately provoked him: "Gu Yuan, why don't you come to my house for a meal?"

Feeling his pride wounded, Gu Yuan was speechless and didn't know how to respond.

Fu Hange took in Gu Yuan's expression but didn't expose him. Instead, she said, "Drive faster, or we won't have any food."
