Jiang Xiaoling was still in the taxi with Xu Yi. Xu Yi had recovered and looked at Jiang Xiaoling beside him. She had her eyes half-closed and her head was swaying from side to side. She seemed oblivious to the bumps in the road and the sound of her head hitting the glass, continuing to sleep.
Xu Yi chuckled to himself, then, as if to show his kindness, turned her head to rest on his shoulder. After a short while, he felt a slight ache in his shoulder; he hadn't expected this woman's head to be so heavy.
The driver in the front seat saw his silly grin in the rearview mirror and couldn't help but ask, "Young man, you should at least consider the occasion before you try to take advantage of others. Are you ignoring me?"
Xu Yi quickly waved his hand, feigning innocence: "Master, you can't blame me for this. She came to sleep here on her own. I was already being merciful by not moving her away."
The driver, looking like an experienced person, glanced at Xu Yi in the rearview mirror and said, "Can a normal person just naturally fall asleep on your shoulder? Who are you kidding? You don't need to explain, I understand."
Feeling ashamed that his secret had been exposed, Xu Yi tried his best to salvage his image as a gentleman, but out of pride, he said, "How can you talk like that? Do I look like the kind of person who would take advantage of others? Have some discernment, will you?"
A sharp turn ahead sent Xu Yi sprawling backward. A sarcastic laugh came from the driver's seat: "I just have a good eye; I recognized you as the eldest son of the Xu family at a glance. Everyone knows you're a notorious womanizer; you don't need to explain, I know everything."
After saying that, he pretended to show Xu Yi an impatient expression, but in reality, he was watching him make a fool of himself.
No one spoke in the car anymore; Xu Yi was completely defeated by the driver. When did he become so famous? Even a random passerby driver knew him. He really wanted to tell Fu Hange that next time she needed a ride, she should definitely find a reserved and honest driver, not this glib and reckless guy.
As if sensing the noise in the car, Jiang Xiaoling slowly woke up.
Looking around, he saw Xu Yi staring at him nakedly.
Instinctively, she quickly hugged herself and looked at Xu Yi warily.
This action, however, drew merciless ridicule from Xu Yi: "What are you doing? You think I'm interested in something with just a few pounds of meat on your body?"
"Weren't you quite interested just now?" the driver interjected coldly.
Xu Yi remained frozen in his seat, while Jiang Xiaoling's face was flushed with grievance, her hands clenched into fists as she hugged her upper body, her eyes seemingly filled with tears.
Xu Yi was alarmed and quickly comforted him, "I was just kidding. You just fell asleep on my shoulder."
"You were the one who leaned someone else's head against you, weren't you?" the driver added.
Xu Yi snapped angrily, "Shut up!"
The driver didn't say anything after hearing this, but he felt that young people nowadays were impolite, yelling at their elders like that. But what could he do? The other person was a rich kid, and he couldn't afford to offend him.
Jiang Xiaoling felt even more aggrieved upon hearing this and quickly buried her head in her knees.
Xu Yi didn't know what to say. He just didn't expect Jiang Xiaoling to be so shy. It was just a little touch, right? People are so open-minded these days, why can't she understand?
Fu Hange collapsed onto the bed after taking Liu Yunqi home. Today was supposed to be a special day, but she had dragged her tired body and walked so much, and her stomach didn't even hurt anymore. It was really strange.
She fell asleep quickly after lying down on the bed. Tomorrow she would have to face Gu Yuan's bizarre and unreasonable harassment. She had to present herself in the best possible light in front of him, so that even if she lost to him financially, at least she wouldn't lose in terms of her presence.
