Gu Yuan was nowhere to be seen. Fu Hange looked at herself sleeping on the sofa, thinly dressed and without a blanket. Although it was summer, the nighttime temperature was always colder than the daytime temperature.
She looked up at the clock; it was already one in the morning, and going home would be difficult.
She got up, put on her shoes, walked to Gu Yuan's window, and placed her hand on it, seemingly lost in thought.
As if sensing some movement outside, Gu Yuan came out of the kitchen with two bags of food, which looked like takeout he had ordered.
Seeing that Fu Hange was lost in thought, he slammed the food down on the table, and the sound of the glass clattering quickly reached Fu Hange's ears.
She slowly walked over and sat down opposite Gu Yuan, taking the chopsticks without any hesitation and starting to eat. However, the taste seemed less than ideal, and she spat it out as soon as she took a bite.
This annoyed Gu Yuan: "If you're not going to eat, then you'll just have to wait to starve."
Fu Hange slammed her chopsticks to the ground and watched Gu Yuan eat with relish, her hands behind her back.
"How can you eat something so awful?" Fu Hange asked with a look of disgust.
Enraged, Gu Yuan also slammed down his chopsticks: "Then what do you want?"
Fu Hange could tell that Gu Yuan was extremely impatient. This was indeed in line with his personality, because in Fu Hange's memory, Gu Yuan was a person with a bad temper who was easily angered.
Her mind raced, finally settling on a specific location. She grabbed her bag, pulled Gu Yuan by the hand, and dragged him out the door.
At the parking lot, Fu Hange ordered, "Gu Yuan, drive."
Gu Yuan looked at her and approached her step by step. Fu Hange was forced to press her back against the car body, and cold sweat poured down her back.
A large hand brushed past her face and landed heavily on the car window: "Fu Hange, you've gotten bold, daring to order me around?"
Gu Yuan looked down at her, the two of them so close that they could smell each other's breath.
Fu Hange felt very uncomfortable being stared at. Her body moved around under Gu Yuan's protection, but she couldn't escape his hold.
Thinking about what Gu Yuan had asked her to do that afternoon, she instantly found a weapon to question Gu Yuan: "You didn't discuss any business with Qin Xuan at all, so why did you lie to me?"
Fu Hange stared coldly at him, awaiting his reply. But Gu Yuan seemed not to understand: "What Qin Xuan?"
He's faking it. Fu Hange didn't want to play along anymore, so she simply confronted him directly: "The address you had Bai Xin give me, that Qin Xuan, he's a complete scoundrel!"
Fu Hange had forgotten that she was still under Gu Yuan's control. She was furious and gesticulated wildly, which looked quite funny.
Gu Yuan hadn't let go of her yet, but hearing her words, he seemed to understand. He sighed, lowered his head, and looked at the ground without saying a word.
Fu Hange became increasingly angry as she spoke, completely forgetting her current demeanor.
After a long while, Gu Yuan's deep voice rang in Fu Hange's ear: "Bai Xin made a mistake. The person you were originally asked to talk to wasn't that one. I'll have a good talk with her later."
His words only made Fu Hange angrier. Was he just saying it casually? Did he know that if he had arrived any later, she might have actually ended up having something happen between her and Qin Xuan?
Both fell silent, their breathing becoming unusually rapid. In the darkness, Fu Hange smiled bitterly: "As expected of family, you always cover for her when she makes a mistake. But Gu Yuan, is it really meaningful for you to play me like this?"
Fu Hange was so angry that she wanted to drive her car over Gu Yuan, but she tried her best to restrain herself.
She forcefully shook off Gu Yuan's restraining arm and ran a long distance away from him in one breath.
