Chapter 17 I am her husband

Fu Hange left the manor in a hurry and rushed to the hospital.

She hadn't been back for a long time, and she hadn't told Chen Lin since her career started going downhill.

What does it really matter?

If you explain, they'll say, "You can't do it this way or that way, what else can you do?"

Chen Lin had high expectations for her: she had to be the best in her studies, the best in her character, and even the best in her future career.

She only managed to do one last thing, and that was after she grew up.

So they love to nitpick, they've been nitpicking since she was little, just like Mrs. Tang nitpicked Qi Shu. The only difference is, she really is their biological daughter, isn't that ridiculous?

At first, she really wanted to ask Chen Lin why she treated her that way, but then she gave up.

Anyway, her answer won't be the answer she wants.

For the next five years, Chen Lin didn't contact her at all. If Mrs. Tang hadn't suddenly been so kind to her, she would have forgotten how she had gotten through it all.

So this is what it feels like to be pampered by someone, she thought to herself at the time.

Today, five years later, she is going to see the mother who once caused her pain, and her unbearable and obscure childhood.

Just thinking about Fu Hange is terrifying; it was something Chen Lin brought to her in her early years.

Tang Yehuai accompanied her, and she asked from the car, "Tell me, which mother doesn't love her child?"

"We'll be there in just one more street," Tang Yehuai said casually. "It's hard to say, it's just that we express love in different ways."

She closed her eyes, trying to stop herself from thinking about it.

_

Forty minutes later, the car stopped in the hospital parking lot, and she called Chen Lin: "I've arrived, which ward are you in?"

Chen Lin calmly recited a string of numbers, and before she could reply, the call ended.

Fu Hange sighed inwardly.

"Let's go in."

Tang Yehua parked the car, put his arm around her shoulder, and the two took the elevator up.

The corridor was filled with the smell of medicine and the coughing of a middle-aged man.

Fu Hange frowned and pushed open the ward door.

Chen Lin turned her head, looking haggard. Then, she saw her father's pale face, covered with various instruments, tubes, and an oxygen mask.

She was speechless. Despite their past estrangement from her, she couldn't help but soften when she saw the two elderly people, both over fifty, looking like this.

After all, they are still her biological parents, and family will always be family.

"Come here."

Seeing her standing there blankly, Chen Lin sighed and said something.

Tang Yehuai stood by her side the whole time, accompanying her inside.

“Your father’s health has been poor since the beginning of this year, but I didn’t tell you because I thought it wasn’t anything serious. But it looks like we can’t delay any longer. We spent a lot of money on chemotherapy before, and we’re out of money now, otherwise I wouldn’t have contacted you.”

Fu Hange could tell that her mother was much more peaceful than she had been in her younger years, but she had also aged considerably, and there were sighs in her voice during their conversation.

For some reason, she felt a little sad and patted Chen Lin on the back from behind.

I guess she's really getting old, so I didn't say much to her.

"How much money do you need?" she asked.

Chen Lin glanced at her father, then lowered her head and said, "The surgery will cost at least several hundred thousand yuan, and then there will be chemotherapy, which will be another considerable expense."

Fu Hange felt a tightness in her chest. She glanced at her father, who was lying on the bed with his eyes closed, unaware that she had arrived.

Chen Lin seemed to notice Tang Yehuai and asked, "And this gentleman is...?"

"Mom, hello, I'm Xinhuan's husband!"
