Gu Yuan nodded, his handsome face revealing no emotion. Perhaps this was his skill in concealing himself, making it impossible for others to guess his thoughts or understand his character.
Logically, Fu Hange should have been happy, as this was a perfect opportunity to cultivate their relationship. But she just couldn't be happy. Gu Yuan was clearly using her as a bargaining chip in his business dealings. He said that staying at his house was for her own good, but wasn't he just using her?
A sarcastic smile tugged at the corner of her lips, thankfully unnoticed by Gu Yuan. He was still intently studying his files, all about so-and-so's records and biographies. Fu Hange was furious and slammed the computer shut down.
Their eyes met, and Gu Yuan's gaze was terrifyingly deep, almost killing Fu Hange. He lifted Fu Hange's chin and looked down at her, saying, "If you ruin my plans again this time, I guarantee I won't show any mercy to the Xu family."
After Gu Yuan released Fu Hange, she gasped for breath, not out of fear, but out of chilling disbelief and self-loathing for her powerlessness, completely controlled by Gu Yuan. Gu Yuan knew almost everything about her, even her thoughts. When would she ever escape this devil's grasp?
The plane arrived in just a few hours. Fu Hange felt inexplicably uneasy. She had never tried pretending to be Gu Yuan's girlfriend before and had no experience. If she was exposed later, she was sure Gu Yuan would not let her off the hook.
Fortunately, Gu Yuan didn't take her to see Tang Qiang on their first stop in London. Instead, he found a hotel first. Fu Hange stood aside listening to Gu Yuan check in fluent English. When she saw that Gu Yuan only had one room key, Fu Hange remembered that he had only booked one room. A cold sweat broke out on Fu Hange's forehead, and although she knew she shouldn't ask, she couldn't help but blurt out, "Did you book one less room?"
Gu Yuan didn't stop; instead, he led Fu Hange even faster. Only after the door opened did Fu Hange slowly walk inside. She was filled with fear about coming out with Gu Yuan this time. They were in an unfamiliar place, and Gu Yuan could do whatever he wanted to her. Moreover, she was now sharing a room with him, which was a tricky situation.
Gu Yuan ignored Fu Hange the moment he entered, focusing solely on unpacking his suitcase, half of which was filled with items Fu Hange had chosen for him. After finishing, Gu Yuan sat down and turned on the TV, only to find Fu Hange still standing at the door, her eyes filled with panic. Fortunately, Gu Yuan didn't press her; instead, he became even more relaxed, making himself a glass of water.
After quenching his thirst, Gu Yuan finally said, "Tang Qiang must have someone watching us. Since we're going to pretend, we have to make it convincing. So you have to stay with me for the next few days."
Fu Hange was still standing at the door, carrying two suitcases, her tone firm: "What if I refuse?"
Gu Yuan put down his water glass, strode over, and placed his hand on Fu Hange's shoulder: "I have a million ways to make you agree."
After saying that, he scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the bedroom in a few steps. He then forcefully threw Fu Hange onto the bed, and because the bed was too soft, Fu Hange was bounced back. Gu Yuan immediately pressed down on her, and as his face grew larger and closer to Fu Hange's, a bad premonition suddenly rose in her heart.
Using all her might to push Gu Yuan down, Fu Hange seized the opportunity to flip over and quickly escape the scene. She tried to open the door and rush out, but it was locked from the inside. Gu Yuan had the room key, and Fu Hange was panicked and helpless. If Gu Yuan succeeded today, she feared she would miscarry, and then she would have no leverage to blackmail him.
