Chapter 208 Contentment

In truth, she had to thank the secretary; without his "supervision," they wouldn't have ended up in such an ambiguous situation. Ultimately, she owed the secretary a favor.

Gu Yuan seemed to tighten his grip on Fu Hange's hand. She glared at him, wincing in pain, but Gu Yuan remained unmoved, his expression unchanged. She understood that Gu Yuan was reminding her that their secretary was watching them, and she needed to at least make her act convincing.

Just like when they came, they took a taxi back. From the rearview mirror, they could see that the secretary's car was following them the whole time.

Fu Hange asked Gu Yuan, "He saw everything, so why is he still suspicious and continues to follow us?"

Gu Yuan sneered, a graceful smile curving his lips: "How can he completely trust us if he doesn't see what we'll do when we get back?"

Upon hearing this, Fu Hange was terrified. Was Gu Yuan going to do something to her again? Thinking back to what had happened before, she still felt a little scared.

I changed the subject and said, "Do you think it would be more realistic if we drew the things on the Ferris wheel?"

Her two big eyes shone brightly as she looked at Gu Yuan, full of anticipation.

The reason she decided to capture the London Eye was because she wanted to keep the place as a memento; it was the first place she and Gu Yuan had ever been alone together. Perhaps, only in London did she want to preserve this place as much as possible.

Another sleepless night. Since returning from the London Eye, Fu Hange has been absent-minded. She was somewhat dazed by all of Gu Yuan's pretentious behavior, including the gestures he made for his secretary in front of the window.

She got up, put on her bathrobe, and tried to wrap herself up as warmly as possible before running to the French windows to feel the evening breeze. The snow hadn't stopped; it was still falling haphazardly, just like her heart, which was in turmoil. She was going back tomorrow, and she was actually very reluctant to leave. In London, she could pretend to be Gu Yuan's girlfriend for a week, and she could sleep in the same bed with him, even though they hadn't exchanged a single word while sleeping together. She was content.

Her hand unconsciously rested on her stomach. This wasn't the first time she'd touched it, and each time she did, she felt conflicted, unsure of what to do.

There seemed to be some noise on the bed. Fu Hange straightened her robe and turned around to see that Gu Yuan had already sat up. His hair was slightly messy, probably because he had been sleeping for a long time.

A slightly hoarse voice echoed in the dark room: "You can't sleep either?"

In the darkness, Fu Hange nodded silently. She couldn't sleep because of him, but she didn't know who he couldn't sleep for.

Lost in thought, Gu Yuan had already dressed and gotten out of bed, walking to the entrance hall: "If you can't sleep, come out with me."

Fu Hange didn't follow immediately. Instead, she sat by the French windows for a while, lost in thought, before finally going out. Gu Yuan found two glasses and a bottle of red wine, placed them on the table, and gently opened the bottle cap. He poured the wine into both glasses, and the bright red liquid caught Fu Hange's eye, appearing exceptionally vibrant. The aroma of the wine instantly filled the entire room.

Gu Yuan put down the wine bottle, the glass making a soft clinking sound against the floor. Gu Yuan lowered his head and said, "Come and have a few drinks with me."

For a moment, Fu Hange even thought she had misheard—Gu Yuan had actually asked her to drink. She knew that drinking would lead to trouble, just like last time, and every time, something would happen between her and Gu Yuan after drinking, but her feet wouldn't obey her, and she kept walking towards Gu Yuan. In just a few steps, she was in front of him and sat down next to him.
