Chapter 210 I Hate My Current Self Too (shuhaige.net)

Gu Yuan downed the wine in his glass in one gulp, gritting his teeth as he said, "I hate who I am now too."

As he said this, Fu Hange had already fallen asleep, still hiccuping in her sleep and reeking of alcohol. But a moment later, she sat up again, raised her glass to Gu Yuan, and said, "Drink!"

Seeing Gu Yuan standing there listlessly, Fu Hange stood up with her glass, intending to toast him again, but she lost her footing and fell onto Gu Yuan, the red liquid instantly spilling all over him. He couldn't help but frown, looking at the woman on top of him, her cheeks unusually flushed from the alcohol, her lips slightly chubby.

Fu Hange's eyes were a little dazed, made even more misty by the light. Whether it was from poisoning or something else, an idea suddenly popped into her head. She leaned forward, brought her lips close to Gu Yuan's, and kissed his lips.

Both men reeked of alcohol. Fu Hange's mind was in turmoil, but only this thought could bring her peace of mind. Such intimacy with Gu Yuan was a rare opportunity after returning home. If everything she and Gu Yuan had shared here was real, how wonderful that would be. But if they met again, they might be enemies. Was there any way to change this situation? Fu Hange pondered silently.

Gu Yuan clearly hadn't expected her to do this, but he didn't want to lose his temper today. He pushed Fu Hange aside and walked into the room.

He had only taken a few steps when he heard the heaviest voice he had ever heard in his life behind him.

"I am pregnant."

As she said those words, Fu Hange knew more clearly than ever that if she didn't tell him now, she wouldn't have the courage to do so when she got back.

Gu Yuan was very tall and stood not far away with his back to her. He didn't say anything and just stood there quietly.

As if making a firm decision, Fu Hange encouraged herself, gritted her teeth, and asked, "Will you marry me?"

Enraged, Gu Yuan strode over, dragged Fu Hange up from the ground, grabbed her arm, and asked, "Whose is it?"

Fu Hange didn't rush to answer. He was furious, and if she told him it was his, it would only make him more unhappy, and he might even force her to have an abortion. She gritted her teeth and didn't say another word.

Gu Yuan looked like he wanted to devour her, approaching her step by step, and roared furiously, "Whose is it anyway?"

Fu Hange remained silent. Enraged, Gu Yuan slapped her across the face, then turned and slammed the door shut behind her. The slap left her bewildered, standing there silently weeping. Her fingers gripped the hem of her clothes tightly, her nails turning white from the force.

Gu Yuan, that's your child, do you know that?

He wouldn't know, because she was determined not to tell him. Given Gu Yuan's behavior today, if she told him, she and her child probably wouldn't survive tomorrow. She had witnessed Gu Yuan's methods firsthand and didn't want to, nor dared to, experience them again.

Fu Hange silently cleaned up the mess on the floor and went into the bathroom. The hot water on her body seemed unable to ward off the coldness in her heart. She touched her lower abdomen again, tears mingling with the hot water as they streamed down her face. She didn't know if it was the tears or the hot water that made the tears flow more.

An indescribable sadness welled up inside her. She changed her clothes and lay down on the bed she and Gu Yuan had shared for the past few days. It seemed to still hold their lingering scent and memories. There were also her and Gu Yuan's broken hairs on it; their relationship was like those broken hairs—no matter how she pieced them together, she could never create a complete picture.

Am I sad? Of course I am, but what's the use?
