On the plane back, Fu Hange was a little restless. She looked at Gu Yuan next to her and asked, "Are you really going to...marry me?"
The last two words clearly lacked confidence. Gu Yuan glanced at her coldly: "Don't misunderstand, I just think you have some use to me."
Just as expected, Fu Hange's head began to ache as she leaned back in her chair. She closed her eyes and quietly endured the pain. But then, a sentence that hurt her even more came to her ear: "Someone like you, who is pregnant with another man's child and still wants to marry me, is of no use to me except for being useful."
Fu Hange suddenly opened her eyes, her bright red eyes staring at Gu Yuan, "Don't go too far!"
"Isn't that right? What are you pretending for in front of me? I bet you've seduced more than a few men, haven't you?"
A crisp "smack" rang out on Gu Yuan's face. Looking at her trembling hand, Fu Hange finally realized what she had done. A handprint, bright red and well-defined, instantly appeared on Gu Yuan's face.
She wanted to check carefully to see if she had hit him too hard, but she pulled her hand back as soon as she reached out. Gu Yuan had wronged her, and she had the right to hit him.
Fortunately, Gu Yuan didn't hold it against her. He changed seats and sat down, looking angrily at the data on the computer.
Fu Hange felt this was the longest flight she had ever taken. She hadn't realized it when she came to London, but this time flying back, it truly felt like the longest. Every time she looked up, she saw Gu Yuan's handsome profile; she couldn't avoid it. Time was a cruel tormentor, and it was tormenting her mind as well.
Several hours later, Jiang Xiaoling arrived back in City C. Hearing she was coming back, she came to the airport early. Xu Yi, it was said, had gone off to have fun again.
When Jiang Xiaoling saw Fu Hange getting off the plane with two suitcases in her hands, she offered to help her carry one. "You look tired from your journey. Why don't you go back and rest? I'll take care of the Xu family's matter."
Fu Hange nodded blankly, her face deathly pale, not wanting to say a word. She was indeed very at ease with Jiang Xiaoling managing the company for her.
After leaving the airport, Jiang Xiaoling quickly parted ways with Fu Hange because they lived in different areas, as Fu Hange's home was in the city center.
The two waved goodbye, and Fu Hange turned to Gu Yuan and said, "Could you please take me home?"
Her voice was filled with exhaustion. She had experienced too much in the past few days, the ups and downs of life were too much for her to bear. She had originally planned not to speak to Gu Yuan along the way, but having come this far, she realized that without him, she really couldn't get back.
To his surprise, Gu Yuan forcefully pulled her into his arms and said in an unquestionable tone, "Didn't you say you were going to marry me? Starting today, you'll live at my house. You don't need to worry about the company anymore; just stay home and focus on your pregnancy."
Why did it all feel so unreal? Gu Yuan really intended to marry her? She should be happy, so why was she so sorrowful? Marrying him, yet being deprived of so much freedom—was he trying to completely imprison her and use her for his own purposes?
But she couldn't refuse right now. Her child needed a father, and she couldn't stay away from marriage; once her belly got bigger, no one would want to marry her. Even if the man who looked so much like her didn't love her, she believed that one day she would warm his heart.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of her lips: "Okay."
Gu Yuan led her a few more steps, and Fu Hange seemed to remember something, and suddenly said softly, "Oh right, there are still some things at home that I haven't packed."
