The room was filled with men from his own company, except for Bai Xin, who was the only girl sitting in the middle, surrounded by all the men. Gu Yuan stepped forward, picked up a wine glass, and pulled Bai Xin aside, saying, "Everyone, I'll drink first as a sign of respect."
He downed his drink in one gulp. After exchanging a few pleasantries, he left with Bai Xin. At the doorway, the cold wind howled, and Gu Yuan and Bai Xin sat side by side. Each held a can of beer, raising their glasses to each other.
"How are things between you and her?" Bai Xin asked with a sigh.
Gu Yuan also looked very tired: "It's completely under my control."
Bai Xin sneered, tilted her head back and took another big gulp, "Really? Why do I feel like you're losing yourself?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Yuanyi glared at Bai Xin with a sharp look, as if trying to expose her completely, and said coldly, "What do you mean?"
The self-mockery in Bai Xin's eyes never disappeared. Looking ahead, he said slowly and deliberately, "Don't forget your purpose in contacting her."
"I know."
There was no moon in the sky, and darkness enveloped the entire City C. Gu Yuan and Bai Xin were both dressed in black, blending seamlessly into the night. Gu Yuan gazed at the night sky, recalling that night in London when he and Fu Hange had also looked at a similar night sky, except that in London, she was by his side, while now it was Bai Xin.
As far as he was concerned, he would choose Bai Xin over Fu Hange, because he was certain that Bai Xin loved him. She was also the one who had stood by him through all those painful experiences. He had also noticed his recent changes and desperately reminded himself that it was just a charade, and he shouldn't get too involved, or he would become deeply entangled.
Before anyone knew it, Bai Xin had stood up, dusted herself off, and said, "President Gu, I hope you haven't forgotten that matter."
Gu Yuan was clearly a little impatient: "I know, you don't need to remind me. I know what I'm doing."
Gu Yuan didn't come back tonight. Fu Hange checked the time; it was already 5 a.m. If he were coming back, it wouldn't be at this hour. In the end, she still cared about Bai Xin. The water stains on her eyelashes seemed to be wet. Fu Hange wiped them haphazardly with her hand, wanting to fall asleep in front of the French windows, but her mind was preoccupied with something, and she couldn't fall asleep no matter what.
She sat there until seven o'clock, her eyelids heavy, but she still didn't want to sleep, just letting her mind wander. Gu Yuan had promised to marry her, and even if he didn't, she would wait for him to come back and force him to get married.
Her hair was slightly disheveled by the evening breeze, her lips were a little dry, and even her eyes were sore. She had never lived like this before, waiting for someone until dawn, and then relentlessly pressuring him to marry her. It was purely out of desperation; for the sake of this child, she had no choice.
The Fu Hange of the past is gone, the girl who dared to offend anyone, the girl who feared no one. But now, she has to bow her head to Gu Yuan and beg him to marry her. The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. Fu Hange touched her face and got up.
She went into the bathroom to wash her face, then rummaged through her suitcase to change her clothes, preparing to go out and look for Gu Yuan. Just as she reached the villa gate, Gu Yuan's car drove back.
A black Cayenne arrogantly stopped in front of Fu Hange, and instinctively she took two steps back.
Gu Yuan got out of the car and slammed the door shut. "Get in and wait for me."
Fu Hange was completely baffled. She had come back so late, and before she could even settle accounts with him, he was already ordering her around.
