Chapter 218 Gloom

Bai Xin was so angry she couldn't speak, and finally she could only shout at the top of her lungs, "Get out!"

She told her to get lost? What right did she have? Fu Hange wasn't one to back down. Her relationship with Gu Yuan was legal and protected by law. What right did she have to tell her to get lost? She approached Bai Xin step by step, saying in the coldest tone, "I'm afraid the one who should get lost is you. Gu Yuan and I are now a legally married couple. What are you doing here? A mistress? Having an affair? Or a lover?"

These words had been buried in Fu Hange's heart for a long time, but she hadn't recovered from the helplessness of her pregnancy until now. She would no longer be foolish enough to let Bai Xin humiliate her. At that time, she had also asked herself, what was she to Gu Yuan, a mistress? Now that the word was used to describe Bai Xin, she suddenly felt extremely gratified.

Bai Xin's face turned pale with anger. Fu Hange noticed that her hand was trembling uncontrollably, and she looked at Gu Yuan with pitiful eyes, hoping he would give her an explanation. But Gu Yuan didn't. He just sat there lost in thought, as if he was completely detached from the situation.

Fu Hange ignored Bai Xin; what Bai Xin had said today was enough to make her sad for a while. She turned to Gu Yuan and said, "I'll wait for you to come home for dinner tonight."

After saying that, she strode out of Mingheng. She knew that Bai Xin must be just as heartbroken as she had been, and the best thing to do now was to leave quickly, leaving her alone to face Gu Yuan's indifference. Thinking about it, it was really gratifying; the wicked would get their comeuppance.

The morning's gloom vanished, and Fu Hange's mood instantly improved. On her way back to the villa, she stopped at a small shop and bought some home-cooked ingredients and a cookbook, intending to learn how to cook for Gu Yuan at home. Although she didn't know if he would like it, since they were married, she couldn't just keep eating out all the time. Besides, it might even help ease the tension between them.

Fu Hange got home at 6:30. She put down what she was doing, tied on an apron like a housewife, and prepared to make sweet and sour pork ribs, following the recipe step by step. She knew her attempt wasn't very good, but why was the final product so different from the one in the book?

The pictures in the book looked incredibly appetizing, but to her, it just looked like dry-fried chicken. Since it was already cooked, Fu Hange didn't bother with it anymore. She placed it on the table and, seeing that Gu Yuan hadn't returned, called him again. But his phone was off. Fu Hange called several more times, but it was still off.

A name suddenly popped into her mind. She guessed that Gu Yuan was probably still at Mingheng, with that woman Bai Xin. As for what the two of them were doing inside, she had no idea, but she knew it couldn't be anything good. It was New Year's Eve, and not only was Gu Yuan not with her, but he was also with another woman.

Fu Hange felt increasingly aggrieved, but she couldn't just sit and wait for her fate. She couldn't get through to her phone. It had started snowing outside sometime earlier; this was the first snowfall in City C, and it was falling on New Year's Eve, the very day she and Gu Yuan were getting married. Did even heaven not approve of their marriage?

Fu Hange didn't care about anything else. She said she wouldn't allow Gu Yuan to stay out overnight, let alone stay at Bai Xin's place. She didn't even bring an umbrella when she left, and the "sweet and sour pork ribs" on the table were pitifully neglected. They were steaming hot, but gradually cooled down as time went by.

The snow outside wasn't heavy, but it was quite dense, with tiny white particles constantly landing on Fu Hange's eyelashes. Her eyelashes were long and thin, perfect for applying mascara. The streetlights were just coming on; thankfully, it wasn't too late. If she took a taxi like this, she should still be able to make it to Bai Xin's house before Gu Yuan went.
