Chapter 220 Thrilling Moment (shuhaige.net)

The car sped along, the traffic light was light at night, and it was almost unobstructed. As she entered a side road, Fu Hange felt something was wrong. This wasn't the road she took back to the Yuan family's house, and the journey shouldn't have taken this long. She had been lost in thought and hadn't paid attention to the direction the car was heading.

Fear filled every cell of my body. Clutching my stomach, I forced myself to remain calm and asked the driver, "Sir, have we taken the wrong road? This isn't where I live."

The driver ahead didn't answer her; instead, he accelerated and drove even more recklessly forward. Clearly, she was in trouble and didn't know if this person wanted the money or her.

Fu Hange had a bad feeling and hurriedly tried to secretly call Gu Yuan, but as soon as the call connected, the driver reached out and threw her phone away. The car was going too fast, and Fu Hange didn't even hear the loud noise of the phone hitting the ground.

Jumping out the window to escape was impossible; she was pregnant. Threatening him? Impossible; she didn't have a knife. In desperation, she came up with a way to calm the driver: "How about this, I'll give you money, any amount, just stop the car."

She swallowed hard after speaking, clearly terrified. The driver wouldn't listen, just kept driving, and it was pitch black all around, not a soul in sight. What did he want with her here?

Fu Hange tried to knock on the car window to get the driver to stop, but instead, someone slapped her hard across the face, causing blood to immediately seep from the corner of her mouth.

"Behave yourself, or I'll do your bidding right here," the driver roared angrily, clearly impatient with her.

She was completely stunned, sitting silently next to the driver like a corpse. The car fell silent. As the car continued to move forward, Fu Hange gradually moved away from the city. Patches of darkness flashed before her eyes. Suddenly, she was no longer afraid. After experiencing so much, she was still all alone. Even if she were taken away and trafficked, who would care?

The car hadn't stopped, it kept moving forward, the trees along the roadside rushing past. Fu Hange felt a confusion she'd never experienced before; she wanted to run, but she didn't want to run. Go back? Would Gu Yuan make her abort the child? If she didn't go back, where would this man take her? She just sat blankly in the passenger seat, letting the car drive into the endless country lanes.

Soon, the car stopped on the narrow concrete road. The driver opened the door to Fu Hange's side and pushed her out. Luckily, she had been prepared and landed feet first; otherwise, the driver's forceful fall would have left her severely injured, if not dead. Looking around at the desolate surroundings, Fu Hange felt a wave of fear wash over her. In the car, she thought she wasn't afraid, but now, being there in person, she couldn't shake the instinctive fear of the dark.

Dogs were barking everywhere, and she was certain they weren't strays; they were probably livestock being fed. If they were being fed, then someone must live there. There's always a way out. She followed the barking and drove forward. Going back the way she came was impossible; in this darkness, how could she possibly find her way back? Her only option was to keep moving forward as fast as she could and find someone to ask for help.

It was pitch black all around, and she couldn't see a single person. Fu Hange suppressed her fear and continued forward, following the barking of the dogs. She didn't know how long she had walked, but she still couldn't find a single house. The barking continued. Although she was in a rural village, at least there were living things around, which gave her some strength.
