Chapter 222 is too difficult

Overwhelmed by a sense of loss, Fu Hange curled up in a corner of the hospital bed, burying her face in her knees, tears streaming down her face, her body trembling. Gu Yuan gently placed his hand on her: "We'll investigate this matter when we get back. We'll leave once you're feeling better."

The warmth of the large hand reassured Fu Hange, and she soon fell asleep with her head on his knees.

She awoke again at dusk. Gu Yuan stood in the setting sun, his figure bathed in the afterglow. To Fu Hange, he was a man unattainable. She called softly to Gu Yuan, and he came running at the sound of her voice: "What is it?"

"I'm hungry." After saying that, Gu Yuan looked at Gu Yuan with a silly grin.

Gu Yuan's lips seemed to change slightly, but it was only for a moment and quickly disappeared. Fu Hange didn't even have time to think about whether she was mistaken. Why would Gu Yuan smile at her?

Looking at the cold, pitiful millet porridge, Gu Yuan said, "Wait a moment, I'll go out and buy something to eat."

The room fell silent again, leaving only Fu Hange alone.

Gu Yuan returned quickly, carrying millet porridge, steaming hot just like last time. Gu Yuan opened the food and fed it to Fu Hange spoonful by spoonful, warming the room once again, a welcome change from the usual coldness of the ward.

The two remained at peace for two days. Two days later, Fu Hange felt a little better, and Gu Yuan took her on her journey. On the way, she still couldn't help but ask, "How did you find me in the first place?"

She even had the nerve to say that if he hadn't arrived in time, the consequences might have been a thousand times worse. But when the words came out, he could only manage two words: "Just passing by."

Fu Hange gave an "oh" and said she was just passing by? Who would believe that? Did they think she was stupid? There must be something going on. Maybe she spent the night at Bai Xin's place and only rushed back at dawn.

Back home, the nearly frozen "sweet and sour pork ribs" on the table immediately caught Gu Yuan's eye. He walked over and examined it closely, asking with a puzzled tone, "Did you make this?"

Fu Hange nodded stiffly, feeling an urge to kill herself. She shouldn't have left any evidence! Gu Yuan poured the plate of frozen sweet and sour pork ribs into the trash can, then went into the kitchen to busy herself.

Fu Hange found a seat at the dining table and sat down, gazing absently at Gu Yuan's back. A short while later, Gu Yuan appeared in front of Fu Hange with a bowl of clear soup noodles, handing her chopsticks: "Try it."

For some inexplicable reason, Gu Yuan made noodles for her. Looking at the food that was almost dried into a pancake, Fu Hange swallowed hard and tentatively asked, "Are you sure this is edible?"

Gu Yuan was clearly displeased and said in an unquestionable tone, "Eat!"

Fu Hange hesitated for a moment. Judging by its appearance, it couldn't possibly be very good. Didn't she know Gu Yuan's standards? She threw down her chopsticks and said, "I'm not eating."

This action angered Gu Yuan. He picked up his chopsticks in a huff and took the first bite. When he swallowed the first bite, his lips visibly paused for a moment, and then he swallowed it as if he was forcing himself to swallow it.

Don't force yourself to eat if you can't.

To everyone's surprise, Gu Yuan put down his chopsticks, touched his lips, and ordered Fu Hange, "If I can eat this, why can't you?"

Is this trying to drive her to her death? This noodle dish is so bad that even a homeless person on the street would think twice before giving it to her, right? But thinking that this is the first time Gu Yuan has cooked for her, she still felt warm inside. It's all thanks to her misfortune this time. Under normal circumstances, Gu Yuan would never treat her like this.
