After drinking a cup, her internal organs throbbed violently, but for some reason, she felt unusually relaxed today without Gu Yuan here. Ever since she came back, she felt very constrained. First, she signed an unequal treaty with Gu Yuan for the sake of the Xu family, and then she was bound by him like this.
This time, it seemed as if no one close to her existed, except for that father in name only. No one at the table offered her a toast, and she, as if torturing herself, relentlessly poured alcohol into her mouth, feeling a sense of exhilaration. This was the feeling she was experiencing—the kind of feeling that comes from getting drunk and forgetting all her troubles.
Xu Haicang couldn't stand it and snatched the cup from her hand: "Don't drink anymore, too much alcohol is bad for your health."
Fu Hange frowned and snatched the glass, refilling her own cup. She didn't mind the potential harm; no one cared anyway, so why should she bother?
A low male voice sounded in Fu Hange's ear: "Drowning your sorrows in alcohol is the most foolish thing to do. If it were me, I would never hurt myself like that."
She turned her head to the side, revealing a sharp look: "It's none of your business."
Fu Hange was extremely beautiful. At this moment, the glow on her face, illuminated by the dim light, made her even more flawless, enough to drive people crazy and suffocate.
No matter how Fu Chengyi tried to persuade her, or how Xu Haicang tried to take her glass away, she kept pouring alcohol down her throat. Even though she felt like her intestines were about to rot, Fu Hange kept drinking. She hadn't known before that strong liquor, though painful, could also have an indescribable exhilaration!
She barely ate anything at the dinner party. The noisy atmosphere inside didn't seem to matter to her; she was completely absorbed in her own world. Xu Haicang and Fu Chengyi tried to persuade her twice, but she retorted with sarcastic remarks.
It was nearly one in the morning when the dinner party finally ended. Fu Hange walked out, and the cool breeze seemed to refresh her flushed cheeks.
She stumbled and lost her balance, but Fu Chengyi nimbly caught her. He then told Xu Haicang to go first and said to Fu Hange, "Wait for me to get the car."
Fu Chengyi drove her home the whole way. In the car, Fu Hange opened the window and used the evening breeze to clear her head.
Fu Chengyi rolled up the car window and said to her as he drove, "It's cool at night, and you'll easily catch a cold if you're exposed to this kind of wind."
Fu Hange glared at him, ignoring his protests, and continued to open the car window. She didn't know why, but she felt that the wind made her feel better.
A little past one o'clock, Fu Chengyi safely delivered her to the villa. Seeing that Fu Hange's hair was a bit messy, he reached out to straighten it for her. His hand accidentally touched her ear, and because he had been drinking, the heat instantly transferred to Fu Chengyi's hand.
Fu Hange turned around, thanked them, and went inside. The lights were off, and it was pitch black. Fu Hange changed her shoes and was about to turn on the lights when suddenly her waist was wrapped around her. Then she was pulled against the wall, her back hitting the wall. Naturally, she was at a disadvantage and immediately burst into tears from the pain.
Before she could catch her breath, a passionate kiss landed on her neck, carrying a hint of punishment, before moving to her lips. Her lips were pried open, and the smell of alcohol filled the air.
Gu Yuan stopped what he was doing and questioned her, "Have you been drinking?"
Fu Hange didn't want to lie to him, so she simply told him the truth, hoping that Gu Yuan could let her go upstairs to rest as soon as possible. "Yes, I drank quite a lot. Are you satisfied? I'm tired and want to go to sleep."
Just as she tried to break free from Gu Yuan's embrace, he grabbed her again, his grip on her wrist painful. Fu Hange roared in fury, "What are you doing?"
