Then he called out to Gu Yuan, "President Gu, why don't you come and do it too?"
Only after these words did she realize something was wrong. This was Gu Yuan's home, and she shouldn't be speaking to him in the tone of a mistress of the house.
After Gu Yuan sat down, she made an excuse to smooth things over: "Mr. Gu, are you hungry? I'll cook for you."
Gu Yuan couldn't help but chuckle. Bai Xin could cook, but Fu Hange couldn't. But he didn't feel hungry even though he hadn't eaten dinner, and he didn't know why.
She said softly, "Then I'll have to trouble you."
Bai Xin was overjoyed and immediately ran to the kitchen to find some ingredients and start cooking.
Unable to think of anything to do for a moment, she saw some spare ribs next to her and got the idea to make sweet and sour spare ribs for Gu Yuan.
When the dishes were served, Gu Yuan's expression clearly froze.
She actually made the same food as Fu Hange.
"Mr. Gu, please try it. If you don't like it, I'll make it for you again."
Bai Xin picked up a piece of pork rib and put it in his bowl.
Fu Hange used to be like that too, she would keep piling food into his bowl even though it was clearly unpalatable, and force him to finish it.
Gu Yuan took a bite, and Bai Xin, standing beside him, couldn't wait to ask, "Is it good?"
"tasty."
Gu Yuan had to admit that this was indeed many times tastier than Fu Hange's.
But compared to the delicious food in front of him, he preferred her bizarre cooking.
Towards the end, I couldn't tell if it was snot or tears, but they all rolled into the bowl together.
Gu Yuan's breathing became slightly choked, which startled Bai Xin, who immediately leaned forward and asked, "What's wrong?"
He shook his head, got up somewhat dejectedly, and went into the bathroom.
Looking at the sweet and sour pork belly that Gu Yuan had only eaten a few bites of, Bai Xin was somewhat disappointed. She had put so much effort into making the food, and he had just left like that.
Bai Xin even doubted whether she had seen it wrong. Was Gu Yuan... crying?
The sound of water from the bathroom interrupted Bai Xin's thoughts. Now that she was here today, she felt she had to do something.
When Gu Yuan came out, she asked knowingly, "Do you have any extra rooms in your house?"
The implication was that if there were no extra people, she would squeeze in with him.
To everyone's surprise, Gu Yuan walked into the bedroom and, with his back turned, said to her, "There should still be a guest room available."
She was so angry her face turned pale!
How could they treat her like that!
Bai Xin was not willing to give up. After watching Gu Yuan enter the bedroom and close the door, she quietly ran to the room where Fu Hange used to live.
Everything inside seemed unchanged; Bai Xin had no idea what it used to look like. But the fact that someone was taking care of it told her that Gu Yuan couldn't let her go.
The floor was clean, the sheets were neat, and the flowers on the window were arranged in an orderly fashion.
She opened the wardrobe again, and all sorts of clothes were displayed in front of Bai Xin. However, they were all designer brands, and everything had been neatly arranged.
She couldn't think of anyone else who would put in such effort besides Gu Yuan.
"What are you doing here?" A sudden voice rang out behind Bai Xin.
She turned around in surprise and met Gu Yuan's bloodthirsty eyes.
Bai Xin subconsciously began to explain, "Actually, I just wanted to..."
"Shut up!" Gu Yuan interrupted her before she could finish speaking.
Bai Xin looked at him in disbelief. She hardly recognized Gu Yuan in front of her. He had never yelled at her like this before, and even when he was angry, he always had a limit.
"Why?" she asked slowly.
Gu Yuan stood in the darkness, silent.
Bai Xin's voice trembled slightly: "Why? Why are you still thinking about her even after she's gone?"
