"You don't have to deny it. I know you still have feelings for him. If it's too painful, go back."
Go back? Where could she go back to? Gu Yuan didn't love her, so why should she go back to that cold house?
She sighed, "It's probably impossible for us now."
"So that means I might have a chance?"
His half-joking remark amused Fu Hange, and she nudged him, saying, "Stop fooling around."
Noticing the smile in her words, Fu Chengyi also became cheeky. He quietly reached out from behind and gently grasped Fu Hange's fingertips.
She lay face down on the table, tears streaming down her cheeks and soaking a large patch of fabric onto her clothes.
Just as she was crying her heart out, someone knocked on the glass table. Jiang Xiaoling looked up blankly and met Xu Yi's smiling eyes.
Realizing her disheveled state, Jiang Xiaoling quickly wiped away her tears.
Forcing himself to remain calm, he asked, "What are you doing here?"
"I've come to see how much you care about me."
Jiang Xiaoling sniffed and said with a heavy nasal tone, "You're overthinking it. I'm just worried about things at home, it has nothing to do with you."
Xu Yi wasn't about to give up until he got an answer. He lifted Jiang Xiaoling's chin and looked at her sensually.
His breath warmed her face as he spoke: "I know everything that happened in the break room. You cried because of me."
She flung Xiaoling's hand away and roared, "I told you there's no way we can be together, so why are you still bothering me? Do you know how much this is affecting my life? I've worked so hard, and I've finally achieved some success. I don't want to be kicked out of the Xu family because of you!"
Xu Yi's patience, which had been relatively good, was worn down by her, and his tone became somewhat urgent: "Is work really that important? You want money, I'll give it to you, just come with me now!"
After saying that, he grabbed Jiang Xiaoling and ran away, no matter how hard she tried to shake him off.
Finally, he forced her into the car. Jiang Xiaoling resisted with her whole body, and even after the seatbelt was fastened, she was still waving her arms and legs.
Xu Yi roared in fury, "Behave yourself!"
This didn't seem to lessen Jiang Xiaoling's resistance; she continued to fidget in the car.
She even threatened him: "If you don't open the door, I'll jump off this building."
Xu Yi chuckled lightly, his tone nonchalant: "Sure, but we'll see if you have the guts."
These words brought Jiang Xiaoling back to reality. She had been timid since childhood, and now that she was asked to jump out of the car, she really didn't dare.
As they approached the hotel entrance, Jiang Xiaoling's heart skipped a beat. A hotel is fine for one person, but for two, it's a disaster.
After the car stopped, Xu Yi yelled at her, "Get out of the car."
Jiang Xiaoling clung to the seatbelt and sat there defiantly.
Xu Yi had no choice but to lean over and unbuckle her seatbelt.
Jiang Xiaoling was clearly resistant and kept trying to squeeze inside.
Xu Yi had no choice but to coax her, "Come down first, and we'll talk after you come down."
She won't fall for it!
She still hid inside like a child, her eyes full of resistance.
Finally, Xu Yi got angry. He crawled in, removed Jiang Xiaoling's hands, quickly unbuckled the seatbelt around her, and carried her into the hotel in front of everyone.
The receptionist was taken aback by what she saw, and her polite smile became even more pronounced.
"A luxury suite."
One room? Jiang Xiaoling was completely terrified.
She quickly replied, "Two rooms."
“One room,” Xu Yi retorted.
