Chapter 393 Encounter

"Where else can we go if we don't leave?" Jiang Xiaoling looked at her calmly.

"If you were going to leave, why did you come back for Xu Yi's wedding?"

"......"

The conversation ended abruptly, the answer was self-evident, but neither of them wanted to bring it up.

She still cared about him; otherwise, why would she have traveled all this way just to see his wedding with his rival?

"Have you decided where you want to go?"

"Let's go back to our hometown."

After saying that, Jiang Xiaoling stood up, leaving Fu Hange with a thin and helpless back view.

The afterglow of the setting sun perfectly outlined her silhouette, the dim light illuminating her profile, obscuring her expression. Yet, that figure truly made Fu Hange feel an urge to cry.

They are both equally pitiful: one is loved but not loved in return, and the other is unable to love the one he loves.

Countless devoted men and women have been defeated by reality. Fu Hange sighed, knowing that her love with Gu Yuan would eventually be destroyed by reality, leaving not even a trace of memory.

She took a taxi back, feeling a mix of emotions. Liu Yunqi had changed, Gu Yuan no longer loved her, and Jiang Xiaoling was gone. What did she have left?

It was as if everything had been drained away, leaving not a single thing behind.

Fu Hange rummaged through her suitcase, selected a few changes of clothes, and booked a flight to the United States at the last minute.

An hour later, Fu Hange arrived at the airport. She turned off her phone and completely cut off contact with the world.

Perhaps they should both calm down; if this continues, they'll both go crazy sooner or later.

The plane took off at midnight, and Fu Hange left quietly.

——

When Gu Yuan returned home from get off work, he discovered that Fu Hange was gone. It seemed as if her departure was repeating itself; she had left him again.

Gu Yuan was frantic with worry. What he was desperately trying to hold onto was slipping away. He quickly called Bai Xin and asked her to check Fu Hange's flight schedule.

Then he went to her room and stared blankly at the room she had lived in.

Gu Yuandun leaned against the foot of the bed, covering his face with his hands. All his emotions erupted at this moment, and two streams of hot tears fell, slapping heavily onto his hands.

He didn't know how much time had passed before he looked up and saw a piece of white paper on the bedside table.

He snatched the paper almost instantly and carefully examined the words on it.

It was basically saying that she had left and that he shouldn't look for her. He added that if she came to her senses, she would come back, and since their marriage hadn't been dissolved, she couldn't just walk away.

Gu Yuan stared blankly at the paper that had become wrinkled from his grip. She had left again, so completely, so resolutely.

Gu Yuan covered his face with his hands, unable to face the paper any longer. Every word felt like a sharp sword piercing his heart, causing him unbearable pain.

Will she really come back...?

——

Before leaving, Fu Hange helped Xu Yi by telling him that Jiang Xiaoling was going back to her hometown. Upon hearing this, Xu Yi immediately rushed to the airport to catch up with Jiang Xiaoling.

It was noon, and the airport was sparsely populated. Jiang Xiaoling was sitting in the waiting room, which Xu Yi could see at a glance.

Thank goodness she hadn't left yet.

Xu Yi walked over and hugged her tightly without saying a word.

Jiang Xiaoling obviously didn't notice the man next to her until she realized it was Xu Yi.

"Why are you here?" she asked hastily.

Xu Yi said sarcastically, "If I didn't come, would I have let you leave?"

Whether I leave or not is my own decision, it's none of your business.
