Chapter 440 Strange and Weird

Twenty minutes later, Fu Hange met with Fu Chenyi on time.

As soon as she sat down, she got straight to the point: "Was it you who did what happened to Mingheng?"

Fu Chengyi answered without hesitation: "Yes."

"Why?"

"Because I can't stand how he treats you."

Fu Hange pursed her lips. "Actually, although he wasn't good to me, he didn't do anything drastic."

“You know I like you, but he treats you badly. I’m not a saint, I’m not that noble. I’m just doing what I want to do.”

Fu Hange felt a chill run down her spine. In fact, what she feared most was Fu Chengyi saying this, because she felt uncertain whenever he did.

Fu Hange coughed slightly. "Can we not talk about this?"

Fu Cheng squinted, looking lazily at the chair, his hands clasped together, appearing extremely gentlemanly.

He nodded: "Okay, so what do you suggest we talk about?"

He was actually asking a question he already knew the answer to, and Fu Hange could tell.

She lowered her head, finding it difficult to speak: "Could you... please let Mingheng go?"

This was not unexpected for Fu Chengyi. He smiled and said, "Give me a reason."

"Actually, he didn't do anything to me, he just sometimes gets angry with me. Could you...?"

"I don't want to hear what he thinks of me," Fu Cheng interrupted her.

Fu Hange pursed her lips, then lowered her head even further.

"Does he really deserve you to set aside your dignity and speak so highly of him in front of me?"

Fu Chenyi's voice sounded exhausted, and his double eyelids were particularly noticeable, which made Fu Hange feel incredibly heartbroken.

She said instinctively, "He can be a bit unreasonable at times, but he really hasn't been that bad to me."

"Okay, I understand."

"You know?" Fu Hange looked at him in confusion, wanting to ask something, but she was too embarrassed to speak.

She said slowly, "So, what do you mean?"

Fu Chengyi didn't say anything, but smiled and got up. He then leaned against the table and walked over to Fu Hange, where he half-reclined against the side of the table.

He said softly, "I'm a realistic person too. You know I like you, but please don't use that to make any conditions with me, okay?"

His words made Fu Hange feel inexplicably embarrassed. Her hands, which were restless and awkwardly rubbing together, were on her thighs.

Fu Chengyi was right; she did take advantage of that. She used his love for her to force him to do things he didn't want to do.

Which man would willingly let go without reservation to allow the woman he loves to be with another man?

Fu Chengyi is not a saint; he also has emotions, and that's something she overlooked.

She looked up, frowned, met Fu Chengyi's eyes, and slowly said, "It was my fault."

Fu Chengyi smiled faintly, gently placing his hand on Fu Hange's head, his face full of doting affection, "You did nothing wrong, it's just that you love him too much."

Rather than a smile, his face showed heartache, an expression only someone exhausted to the extreme would have.

Fu Cheng glanced at the bustling street outside and said to Fu Hange, "I can let Gu Yuan go, but I have a condition."

Fu Hange was somewhat surprised and suddenly asked, "What are the conditions?"

"I want you to stay with me for these three days. I know your heart isn't with me, but please give me a chance. Experience how good I am to you these three days, and then you can think it over, okay?"
