Chapter 97 Guarding the Big Fish

When Tang Yehuai opened the door and saw the two people inside, both Tang Yehuai and Tao Yiqiu were stunned.

She stammered, "How did you get in?"

Tang Yehuai sat down on the sofa, crossed his legs, and said, "You can go down from the balcony. There's a ventilation duct down there. You can follow the ventilation duct to the window on the next floor, and the window connects to the stairwell."

So, that's quite clear.

Tang Yehuai was filled with admiration for him again: "How did you come up with that?"

Tang Yehuai smiled faintly, his eyes seeming to say, "A newbie like you wouldn't understand."

She said, "So this person killed the person first, then took the key and went out, walked through the ventilation duct to the hallway to lock the door, then came back to put the key away, and left from the same place again?"

Tang Yehua nodded.

Tao Yiqiu fell into deep thought. He carefully examined the location of the ventilation duct and the balcony. This was a very difficult maneuver; without some skill in scaling walls and leaping across rooftops, it would be easy to fall.

Tang Yehuai said, "But I'm thinking, everyone in our station has some martial arts skills, and I really can't think of anyone else who would have such skills."

Tang Yehuai and Tao Yiqiu's eyes met, and there seemed to be something fishy in their eyes.

Tang Yehuai had a feeling that Tang Yehuai's words were implied; was he referring to someone?

She had no idea.

When they returned to the police station from the deceased's home, Tang Yehuai sat next to her in a strange manner. She could also sense that he was restless as well. They understood each other implicitly, but could only keep their feelings to themselves.

On the way, he said, "I don't know how this happened."

Tang Yehua knew what he was talking about. She thought the system did this because it saw that they didn't have much interaction and deliberately used such underhanded tactics.

Tang Yehuai pretended to be nonchalant and said, "I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"Um."

In the police station.

Tang Yehua slammed his fist on the table: "Immediately collect the surveillance footage from that night, leaving no blind spots unchecked. Also, find the people at the martial arts gym, retrieve their information, and check if there were any unusual movements on the night of the incident."

He paused for a moment, then added, "Investigate the files related to the similarities between the two cases again. Lily will provide a sketch later."

Tang Yehuai waited until he finished speaking before asking, "Then what should I do?"

I will let you know if there are any arrangements.

——

It wasn't until evening that Tang Yehuai found out what Tang Yehuai's plan was: he had invited her to the bar from last time, and he was dressed particularly handsomely.

Tang Yehuai stared at him, somewhat mesmerized, and walked over to him, bewildered, and asked, "The arrangement you're talking about is a date?"

Tang Yehuai smiled wickedly, especially under this light. He was wearing a white suit, and his well-defined fingers were clasped together on the table: "What would you like to drink?"

Tang Yehuai was afraid that he would act recklessly after drinking, so he ordered a glass of orange juice.

Tang Yehuai leaned closer, his gentle breath brushing against Tang Yehuai's face, and said, "Do you believe that a big fish will come later?"

Tang Yehuai was rather dim-witted, so naturally she couldn't understand what he was talking about. She needed his guidance to figure out everything: "What big fish?"

Tang Yehuai also thought she was really stupid, his expression unchanged: "On the night of the incident, the murderer came here. He should have been here when we looked for Fang Zhuang. After Fang Zhuang left, he followed him all the way and finally killed him to cover it up."

Tang Yehua immediately understood and broke out in a cold sweat: "So, last night... he might have been following us too?"

Tang Yehua smiled faintly and remained silent. Tang Yehua knew that this meant he had tacitly agreed.

So, are they here today to guard this big fish?
