Fu Hange didn't know what to say or which side to stand on.
Should she help Gu Yuan? He drove her to despair; what good would it do her to help him? Should she help Fu Chengyi? They were only friends; what would it do her to speak up for him?
So she simply stood between the two of them and used her hands to separate them.
"Please stop arguing about me, and just leave me alone. I'm so tired."
After saying that, Fu Hange ran outside and disappeared into the night in an instant.
Fu Hange ran forward desperately, almost using up all her strength. She didn't know why she was running; perhaps she couldn't stand the oppressive atmosphere and couldn't bear to see them arguing over her.
Because she doesn't deserve it.
She owed Fu Chengyi too much and didn't want to see Gu Yuan again.
Suddenly, a force appeared behind her and pulled her back, causing Fu Hange's moving feet to stop abruptly.
The strong hand quickly grabbed her back and held her tightly in his arms.
Fu Hange threw herself into the familiar yet fearful embrace. It was Gu Yuan's; one look was enough to know that feeling.
Fu Hange struggled desperately in his arms, pounding on Gu Yuan's chest.
Gu Yuan didn't react at all, and simply said, "Go ahead and hit me, until I can give you the whole world."
Because after today, he will have very little left to give her. Fu Chengyi will definitely make his move against him sooner or later, that's for sure. He must know him inside and out, hate him for taking Fu Hange away, but he can only watch silently from behind.
Fu Hange's hand, which was raised in the air, suddenly stopped. She looked at him in disbelief, and the determination in his eyes was something she had never seen before.
"Go ahead and fight, before I lose everything," Gu Yuan said again.
Fu Hange's tears fell uncontrollably, repeatedly patting Gu Yuan's hand.
If he had said these things to her earlier, perhaps she would have believed him. But now, she would only think that Gu Yuan was making excuses for himself, finding an excuse to get her to help him save the company.
She asked with a slow, gentle laugh, "What makes you think you can give me the whole world? And did you really give it to me?"
Gu Yuan stared at Fu Hange with a gloomy face, pulling her head close to his chest, unable to utter a single word.
What could he say? That he had no other choice? But how could she possibly believe that?
Fu Hange laughed louder and louder, her voice sharp and piercing through the air, mixed with the nasal sounds of her recent crying.
After calming herself down, she said slowly, "I will never believe your words again."
Gu Yuan's hand trembled violently, his whole body was filled with excruciating pain, and he froze on the spot, unable to utter a single word for a long time.
Fu Hange ran away.
He never looked back.
Gu Yuan chased after her all the way but couldn't find her. He didn't know if she had taken some kind of stimulant or what, but he just couldn't see her anywhere.
Thankfully it didn't rain today, otherwise it would have been even harder to find.
The only road leading out of his house was along which Gu Yuan continued his pursuit.
His heart had never been without pain, but she had numbed it, leaving only a dull ache during his vigorous running. Since their conflict began, she had said she was suffering, but hadn't he suffered too?
If there weren't so many misunderstandings, who would want to lose their temper with the woman they love?
It all stemmed from his jealousy, because he cared.
He was jealous that Fu Chengyi could be by Fu Hange's side; he was jealous of every moment they spent together.
Every moment, every instant.
