Just before dawn, Fu Hange was awakened by Tang Yehuai's movements.
"We have to leave quickly, otherwise if wild animals appear, we're all doomed."
Fu Hange was born to sleep, and getting her up at this hour would only make her act up. She shook off Tang Yehuai's hand and said, "I want to sleep!"
Anyone would get angry at this point, and Tang Yehuai was no exception. He pointed at Fu Hange and said, "Don't blame me for not collecting your corpse if you don't leave."
"Let them collect the body then. At least I need to get enough sleep." She ignored Tang Yehuai and fell asleep again.
She thought she would wake up in a cave, but when Fu Hange opened her eyes, she found herself suspended in mid-air.
Moreover, it was on Tang Yehuai's back.
She kicked her feet: "Where are we going?"
"go home."
Tang Yehuai's hand was still injured, but he steadily carried Fu Hange on his back. Thinking about what she had said to him when she was half asleep, he felt extremely regretful.
Why does she always hurt this man? He knows she has a thousand faults, yet he still tolerates her.
For a moment, Fu Hange really wanted to ask Tang Yehua what he liked about her, but she could guess that his answer would be that he was stupid.
"Why don't you put me down? I can walk."
Tang Yehuai had beads of sweat on his forehead, and the mountain path under his feet had become muddy because of the rain. He said, "I'll put you down after we get through this part of the road."
Fu Hange was deeply moved again. She couldn't believe what would happen to Tang Yehuai or herself if she left.
Half an hour later, when Tang Yehuai finally got out of the mountain road, she could clearly see that blood was seeping from his arm, which was quite glaring.
"How about I bandage it for you?"
Tang Yehua rolled up his sleeves and continued walking forward: "There should be a car soon, let's go back and deal with it."
At this point, Fu Hange had no choice but to listen to him. Although she couldn't bear to see him in pain, she didn't say much.
——
Fu Hange was heartbroken and looked at Tang Yehuai, saying each word clearly, "Then why didn't you say so sooner?"
"I'm afraid you'll hate me even more if I tell you."
If he had said so earlier, would she have had to wait here for so long?
Fu Hange was filled with mixed feelings, looking at Tang Yehuai with both heartache and regret.
Tang Yehuai's arm was still bleeding, and Fu Hange looked at it with tears streaming down her face, muttering, "Are you stupid? I won't die. Why would you take a bomb for me?"
"If you die, how am I supposed to explain this to the old lady?"
Fu Hange burst into tears again. Tang Yehuai covered his wounds with his military jacket to prevent infection, and Fu Hange was careful not to touch them when she hugged him.
"Once we escape back, you'll live a good life with me, okay?"
Perhaps it was the word "escape" that tickled Tang Yehuai's funny bone. Despite his still painful wound, he forced a reply to Fu Hange: "Okay."
It was this simple "good" that made Fu Hange feel incredibly guilty.
She started to feel annoyed again. If he liked her so much before, why did he deliberately act like an enemy? Even if he misunderstood her and Ling Han, he was so proactive after she came, but he still acted like a young master and refused to bow his head.
Thinking about it, Fu Hange punched him hard in the chest again: "Are you stupid?"
"You're the one who's stupid."
"Tell me, if you're not stupid, how could you not see how I feel about you?"
Tang Yehuai remained silent, staring at Fu Hange's face without saying a word. Just as she was distracted, Tang Yehuai brought his lips to hers.
