Bai Di's words instantly stirred up a storm, attracting the attention of many. All eyes turned to Bai Ying, their gazes filled with suspicion and hostility, as if scrutinizing a reckless madman who knew no bounds.
"Her? She can defeat the White Cultivator? That's an outrageous boast! If it weren't for the city's rules against private duels, I'd be the first to rush up and teach her a lesson!" A burly man, arms crossed, shouted with disdain, his face twitching as he spoke.
"Hmph, I'm going to have a good look at her and see just how capable she really is. Once we're on the stage, none of you can take her from me. I'll make her pay for her boasting!" A lean man's eyes flashed with a fierce light as he rubbed his fists together, eager to try his luck.
Bai Di lowered her head slightly, pursed her lips, and hesitated before saying, "Sigh, I've also advised my sister to be more low-key and not to talk nonsense. But she's too confident and even boasted that she's the one who will definitely win first place this time. So what if she makes some wild claims? Anyway, she's telling the truth."
She lowered her eyes, seemingly timid, but the slight upturn of her lips betrayed her inner smugness; in fact, she was overjoyed.
Bai Ying, however, seemed detached from the situation, ignoring the unfriendly stares and comments around her, and focused intently on the rewards displayed on one side of the arena.
Bai Di wasn't lying about the rewards; the prizes for this arena were indeed very generous.
The dragon marrow liquid exuded an alluring luster, and just by smelling its aroma, one could feel the immense energy it contained; the replica divine artifact also shimmered with a mysterious light, clearly not an ordinary item; and those few spiritual herbs, each one brimming with spiritual energy.
However, none of these things, which were incredibly precious in the eyes of others, could even catch Bai Ying's eye.
When her gaze fell on the white jade pendant, she was instantly roused, and her eyes lit up.
This jade pendant was completely different from the two she had obtained before; it was clearly not the same thing.
However, this jade pendant is the material that can upgrade the two jade pendants of Bai Ying.
If we obtain it, the second jade pendant that Bai Ying obtained should also be able to activate its function.
Very well, this jade pendant is hers now! She has to have it.
Those around Bai Ying, seeing her determined expression, exchanged bewildered glances, thinking to themselves: She really is just as her sister said, daring to show such an expression. It's as if the jade pendant already belongs to her.
They all looked at her with mocking eyes.
Some people shook their heads.
This little girl is incredibly arrogant and ignorant. She probably doesn't even know where she is, yet she dared to barge in. Once she actually steps onto the stage, she's doomed!
Just as Bai Ying was deep in thought about the mysterious jade pendant, a burly, superhuman man, like a moving mountain, suddenly appeared in front of her. The man held his head high, his nostrils flared, his face filled with arrogance and disdain, looking down at Bai Ying.
"Is it you who's been shouting everywhere that you can beat everyone here and take the first place prize?" The big man yelled, his voice booming and echoing around, making everyone around him feel a pain in their eardrums.
Upon hearing this, Bai Ying narrowed her eyes slightly, glancing subtly at Bai Di beside her. The sarcasm flashing in her eyes was like a sharp blade, seemingly able to see right through her. She sneered inwardly, knowing that Bai Di had ill intentions and that bringing her here was definitely not for anything good.
It turns out she had already done a lot of "publicity" for herself in advance, afraid that she wouldn't become a target in everyone's eyes.
Bai Di noticed Bai Ying's gaze, and her face instantly turned deathly pale, a flash of panic crossing her eyes. She cursed inwardly; these people knew what was going on, so why did they have to go and cause trouble in front of Bai Ying? If Bai Ying denied it outright, wouldn't all her previous efforts be wasted?
Bai Ying said sarcastically, "I never said that. Shouldn't my dear sister have said those words herself?"
Her voice was clear and crisp, each word distinct and reaching everyone's ears. She tilted her head slightly, her gaze seemingly casually sweeping over Bai Di, a hint of mockery in her eyes.
Bai Ying's words were like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, instantly creating ripples. Everyone's gaze shifted from Bai Ying to Bai Di, their eyes filled with inquiry and amusement.
Everyone standing here is a shrewd person who has been through many years in the martial arts world, and they understand the meaning behind Bai Ying's words immediately.
It turns out that this seemingly weak younger sister was secretly helping her older sister "make a name for herself" behind the scenes. Her intentions were truly deep and ruthless.
Bai Di felt extremely uncomfortable under everyone's gaze, her face flushing red and then turning pale. Bai Ying had so easily exposed her scheme.
At that moment, she felt a burning sensation on her face, as if she had been slapped several times in public. Her hands clenched involuntarily, her nails digging deep into her palms. She felt both ashamed and angry, yet had nowhere to vent her frustration.
“However…” Bai Ying suddenly changed the subject again, “I am determined to get the first place reward.”
The burly man was taken aback at first, then threw his head back and burst into a deafening laugh, his laughter full of contempt and mockery towards Bai Ying: "You little wench, you have quite the nerve! Once we're on the stage, I'll show you what real power is!"
The people around the big man burst into laughter, laughing so hard they were doubled over, as if watching a farcical spectacle, mocking Bai Ying's overestimation of her abilities.
