Zhou Ying collapsed to the ground, her eyes vacant, as if her soul had been ripped away. Her hands hung limply at her sides, her fingertips trembling slightly, completely unable to believe that she had fallen to such a state.
The spiritual energy that once filled my body has now receded like the tide, and even the slightest fluctuation is hard to detect.
Without her spiritual root, she was like a bird with broken wings, utterly reduced to a useless person, her future path shrouded in thick darkness, with not a glimmer of light in sight.
Not far away, her daughter Bai Di was equally disheveled, lying lifelessly on the cold ground, her hair scattered messily around her face, obscuring most of it. Only her tightly closed eyes and slightly trembling body could be seen, revealing her helplessness and pitifulness.
Zhou Ying slowly turned her head, her eyes burning with raging anger, her malice almost tangible, as she shot straight at Bai Ying.
At this moment, her hatred for Bai Ying had reached its peak.
Originally, today should have been the most dazzling and happiest moment in Bai Di's life.
She should have stood before everyone, dressed in magnificent robes, surrounded by spiritual energy, radiating brilliance, receiving admiring glances and heartfelt praise, and embarking on a brilliant new chapter in her life.
But now, cruel reality has shattered all her beautiful fantasies. Not only has Bai Di's dream vanished, but she herself has also fallen into an abyss of no return, becoming a useless person.
"Bai Ying!" Zhou Ying roared hoarsely, "You have done such a vicious thing today, it is an outrage against heaven and earth, you will surely be punished!"
Those present were astonished that Zhou Ying remained so stubbornly clinging to her delusions. It was clearly she and Bai Di who wanted to harm Bai Ying, yet she had the audacity to portray them as victims.
If Bai Ying hadn't possessed profound cultivation and exposed the mother and daughter's scheme today, she would have been in real trouble.
Those around them looked at the Bai family members with displeasure on their faces, and unpleasant words kept coming out of their mouths.
But Zhou Ying didn't care about any of that; she really hated Bai Ying.
She kept having malicious thoughts in her mind, wishing she had never given birth to Bai Ying.
That damn guy, why didn't he die sooner!
If she had died, things wouldn't have turned out this way for her and Xiaodi!
Zhou Ying glared at Bai Ying with extreme malice, and roared at her with all her might:
"Bai Ying, you are the most deserving person to die in this world! Don't even think that I will have the slightest affection for you. In this life, I will never love you, I will only wish I could kill you with my own hands!"
I truly regret not ending your life immediately after giving birth to you! I went to great lengths to search for you back then; I was so blinded by greed to do such a stupid thing.
"I should have killed you... no, I should have dug out your spiritual root and given it to Xiaodi when you were a child. Your spirit was given to you by me; I can give it to whomever I want. Trash like you doesn't deserve such a spiritual root! You should be a mortal!"
Zhou Ying knew Bai Ying would come back because she was, after all, just a young girl, and she also longed for family affection.
She still remembered the hopeful look in Bai Ying's eyes when she first found her.
Therefore, she wanted to hurt her with the most vicious words.
She wanted to reopen Bai Ying's wounds! To make her feel the same pain as herself! She wanted Bai Ying to know that she would never love her again in this life, and would only want to kill her.
However, Bai Ying only looked at Zhou Ying with unusual indifference, without even the slightest hint of hurt on her face.
In the past, she might have indeed gotten injured.
But after witnessing their favoritism time and time again, Bai Ying's heart had long since become numb, and Zhou Ying's words could no longer hurt her in the slightest.
Bai Ying coldly said to her, "If I had a choice, I wouldn't choose someone like you as my mother."
Upon hearing this, Zhou Ying was struck dumb, her eyes widening in disbelief.
She never imagined that Bai Ying would dare to contradict her so boldly. Enraged, her lips trembled, and she was about to utter those vicious curses again when a loud shout interrupted her. "Enough! Stop talking!" Bai Ying roared, his face contorted with rage.
Zhou Ying turned her head sharply to look at Bai Ying, her eyes filled with shock. That damned Bai Ying had ruined her family so badly, yet Bai Ying was still standing on Bai Ying's side, speaking up for her.
"White Eagle, what exactly do you want to do? How could you..." Zhou Ying shouted angrily, but before she could finish speaking, a cold and piercing voice, as if it came from the deepest hell, suddenly rang out.
"Keep quiet, or I'll kill you."
It was the same giant hand that had made that sound. Zhou Ying trembled, her face drained of color, and the anger in her eyes was instantly replaced by fear. She instinctively shut her mouth, as if something was choking her throat, and she could no longer make a sound. She just stared at Bai Ying with eyes full of hatred.
Following the established rules, the giant hand slowly handed Bai Ying her reward. "This is the Cloud-Piercing Arrow, the reward for first place. I'm giving it to you."
Bai Ying remained calm, steadily catching the Cloud-Piercing Arrow. Her fingers lightly brushed the arrow's shaft, feeling its surging power. Those around her cast envious glances, while others whispered amongst themselves about Bai Ying's extraordinary abilities. The Bai family members, especially Zhou Ying and Bai Di, watched the Cloud-Piercing Arrow in Bai Ying's hand, their hatred growing stronger, yet they dared not make a further move.
After distributing the rewards, the giant hand scanned the scene and spoke again, "Alright, everything is done. Everyone, you can all leave now!"
