Outside the Lingyin Temple gate, the sun shone brightly, and auspicious clouds swirled around.
The once quiet mountain path was now crowded with visiting cultivators.
The colorful robes shimmered in the sunlight, and the spiritual light of flying swords and magical treasures intertwined to form a dazzling galaxy.
"Have you heard? That Bai Ying, with only a Nascent Soul cultivation level, actually killed five Void Refinement experts all by herself!"
"Not only that! More than fifty Nascent Soul cultivators perished at her hands!"
"The heavens of the Lingchuan Continent are about to change..."
Discussions rose and fell, and everyone's eyes were fixed eagerly on the depths of the mountain gate.
Inside the main hall, Xuan Qingzi, the head of the Lingyin Sect, sat in the main seat, his usually serious face now beaming with a smile.
"Brother Xuanqing, your sect is truly blessed to have produced such a brilliant disciple!" The sect leader of the Heavenly Sword Sect stroked his beard and exclaimed in admiration, his eyes filled with envy.
"Yes, yes," the elder of Medicine King Valley quickly echoed, "Young friend Bai has achieved so much at such a young age; he is destined for greatness!"
Qi Haoyuan stood to the side, his mouth almost stretched to his ears in a wide grin. His storage bag at his waist was bulging, filled with congratulatory gifts from various factions.
"You flatter me," Xuan Qingzi waved his hand modestly, "Bai Ying was merely lucky..."
Even so, he couldn't hide the smugness in his eyes.
At the mountain gate, dozens of young cultivators crowded at the very front of the bluestone steps, their robes rustling as they rubbed against each other.
One of the young men, dressed in an indigo robe, stood on tiptoe, his Qiankun Mirror polished to a shine, its surface shimmering with a pale blue spiritual light.
"I've heard that not only is the White Cultivator's swordsmanship divine, but her beauty is also unparalleled." He whispered excitedly to his companion beside him, his fingers trembling slightly with nervousness. "If I could record her every smile and gesture, my junior sisters would be incredibly envious when I get back. I really want to befriend her!"
"Heh, with your meager cultivation?" The female cultivator carrying the guqin sneered, her fingertips unconsciously tracing the strings, producing a clear, resonant tremolo. "Even the chief disciple of the Heavenly Sound Pavilion is inquiring about how to befriend her, and you think you're worthy?"
"The White Cultivator is truly the pinnacle of our generation!" Another youth, dressed in an apricot-yellow Daoist robe, clasped his hands together, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism. "Tell me, who in this world can rival her? Single-handedly slaying the Nine-Headed Serpent in the Demon Abyss—such an astonishing feat, truly no one else in this world could accomplish it except her!"
"Yes!" someone immediately chimed in, their voice trembling slightly with excitement. "I used to admire Bai Di, but now it seems that compared to Bai Xiushi, Bai Di is worlds apart! Bai Xiushi is truly amazing; Bai Di isn't even worthy of carrying her shoes."
A murmur of discussion arose, with bursts of exclamations erupting from the crowd. Some began to straighten their clothes, others took out their Qiankun Mirrors to record the events, and still others took out sachets of spiritual fruit, hoping to find an opportunity to offer them.
Suddenly, the crowd stirred up like a tidal wave.
"Look! That's..."
A white figure slowly emerged from the sea of clouds. The morning light pierced through the thin mist, gilding her with a golden edge.
Her wide, white sleeves fluttered in the wind, and the jade pendant at her waist jingled. Every step she took seemed to be on cloud nine, untouched by the dust of the world. On that exquisitely beautiful face, a pair of phoenix eyes were as cold as frost, yet a breathtaking curve was drawn at the corner of each eye.
It was none other than Bai Ying, who was famous throughout the cultivation world!
Her appearance instantly silenced the previously noisy mountain gate. Everyone held their breath, and even the mountain breeze seemed to freeze.
The next moment, the crowd surged forward like a burst dam, with all the cultivators rushing toward the white figure.
A fervent flame burned in everyone's eyes, as if simply touching that hem of clothing would be an immense honor.
Behind the ancient tree in the shadows, Bai Di gripped the rough bark tightly, his fingernails digging deep into the trunk.
She stared at the figure surrounded by admirers, her eyes swirling with twisted hatred. The storage pouch at her waist trembled incessantly, from which came faint sobs.
"Be smug, be smug to your heart's content..."
She muttered through gritted teeth, her voice hoarse and incoherent, "Just wait until your secret is exposed, then let's see how arrogant you'll be!"
Her trembling fingers traced the storage bag, feeling the faint struggle within. "Don't worry, the show'll be good soon..."
A ferocious smile twisted Bai Di's lips, and the scars on her face stood out starkly in the shadows. The cheers from afar pierced her ears like knives; each praise for Bai Ying deepened her hatred.
Bai Di's eyes flashed with a frenzied hatred as she stared intently at Bai Ying, wishing she could tear her to pieces!
At that very moment—
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
In the distance, more than thirty streaks of light pierced through the sky, each radiating powerful spiritual energy!
A Nascent Soul stage cultivator!
Moreover, some of them even reached the late stage of the Nascent Soul realm!
Bai Di, lurking in the shadows, curled a sinister smile: "They've finally arrived..."
Within the Lingyin Sect, the situation has suddenly changed!
The once lively banquet fell silent instantly.
Those cultivators who had been flattering Bai Ying all changed their expressions now. Over thirty Nascent Soul stage experts stood in mid-air, completely surrounding the entire Lingyin Sect!
"Bai Ying!" the leading black-robed elder roared, "You killed my sect's Void Refinement Elder! Today, I will make your Lingyin Sect pay for this debt in blood!"
The disciples of Lingyin Sect were shocked, and Qi Haoyuan's face turned deathly pale: "What's going on? How dare they..."
Bai Ying's eyes darkened, and she secretly thought that something was wrong.
