Xia Mingde and his wife stared at Xia Yuwei in disbelief. They simply couldn't believe that Xia Yuwei would do such a thing...
Although Xia Yuwei disliked Xia Qingdai, she couldn't possibly let her die, could she?
Madam Xia's lips trembled: "Yuwei, you...you wouldn't really...you did something?"
"What did you do?"
Xia Yuwei's face was extremely pale. At this point, she could no longer pretend.
"Of course I want to kill this bitch!"
She glared angrily at her parents. "It's all your fault! You could have had me, so why did you have to fawn over her just because she's powerful! Yesterday you even whipped me for her sake!"
Xia Yuwei turned to Bai Ying and roared at her, her voice hoarse, "You bastard! I'm clearly the daughter of this family! I've lived here for seventeen years! Why did you come back? Why did you tell Mom and Dad that you're their biological daughter?! You deserve to die! I've wanted to kill you for a long time! I should have killed you the very first day you came back!"
Everyone gasped, staring at her in disbelief.
"She clearly usurped the place, yet she turned around and accused others, even trying to kill them."
"I have never seen such a shameless person."
"She should be grateful that she has received so many years of life that did not belong to her."
Hearing these comments, Xia Yuwei's expression twisted even more: "What do you know! Everything in this house should have been mine!" She turned to Bai Ying, her eyes filled with resentment, "You should have died long ago... But why? You clearly drank that tea before... Why didn't that monster attack you again..."
Bai Ying looked at her ferocious appearance.
With a gentle lift of her hand, a cup of tea appeared out of thin air in her palm.
It was the same cup that Xia Yuwei had given her yesterday.
"Do you think you can use the same trick on me twice?"
Her voice was soft, yet it sent a chill down Xia Yuwei's spine. "You actually...you actually..."
Bai Ying then looked at Xia Mingde and Madam Xia:
"You don't know, do you? I fell off the cliff before because of Xia Yuwei! She used the same trick on me, sending those monsters to attack me."
Not succeeding the first time, she actually wanted to try a second time!
Xia Mingde's face turned deathly pale instantly, while Madam Xia staggered back two steps.
They never imagined that Xia Yuwei would do something like this once, and now she actually wants to do it again!
How could she do such a thing?
"So...you didn't lose your memory at all..." Xia Yuwei's voice trembled, "You didn't even drink that tea..."
"Yes!" A cold glint flashed in Bai Ying's eyes. "I also extracted some of the beast-attracting powder from inside and placed it on you. That's why those demonic beasts attacked you."
Xia Yuwei completely broke down. She frantically scratched at her sleeves, as if trying to remove the invisible beast-attracting powder from her body.
"You bitch!" she screamed hysterically, her voice filled with despair and resentment, "I'll kill you! I'll—"
She didn't finish her sentence. Bai Ying suddenly withdrew her aura, and the previously hesitant demonic beasts immediately became restless.
The demon-patterned leopard was the first to pounce, and Xia Yuwei hurriedly dodged, only to see more demonic beasts rush out of the forest.
"ah--!"
A heart-wrenching scream ripped through the sky. The demonic leopard's gleaming white fangs pierced deeply into Xia Yuwei's slender calf, and blood gushed out like a fountain, drawing a glaring crimson line in the air. Her skirt was instantly stained crimson.
The demon-patterned leopard dragged her backward.
"Help...help me..." Xia Yuwei trembled as she reached out to her parents inside the barrier, her bloodstained fingernails leaving ten gruesome bloody marks on the ground. Her fingers were stuffed with dirt and bits of grass, yet she still desperately pleaded for help.
"Father! Mother! Please..." Her voice was filled with unprecedented terror, and large tears streamed down her face. All traces of her previous arrogance had vanished.
Madam Xia looked at Xia Yuwei with heartache, pacing anxiously. She angrily scolded Bai Ying, "You wretched child! She's your sister! How could you be so disregardful of sisterly affection and do such a thing? Are you really going to just watch her die?"
Bai Ying looked at her coldly and felt extremely disgusted.
"Sisterly affection?" Her voice was like ice. "When she caused me to fall off the cliff, why didn't you talk about sisterly affection? All these years, when she's been targeting me at every turn, why didn't you talk about sisterly affection? You know perfectly well she's hurt me time and time again, yet you still have the nerve to ask me to forgive her?"
"Have you ever considered that if I hadn't seen through her scheme, I would be the one being torn apart by these monsters today!"
Bai Ying didn't say that the real Xia Qingdai was already dead, killed by her first scheme!
With that, Bai Ying removed the barrier.
"You can go save her yourself." She took out the teacup that Xia Yuwei had poisoned her yesterday. "Or, how about I use the same tricks she used on me on you? So you can go and join her!"
A few drops of liquid remained in the teacup, gleaming eerily in the sunlight.
Madam Xia immediately shut her mouth and staggered back a few steps. Compared to the daughter she had raised for seventeen years, she loved herself more.
Xia Mingde shouted, "Quickly put up the barrier! Don't take it down! That monster will attack us!"
