Chapter 563 Killing Xia Mingde

A mirror had appeared between Bai Ying's slender fingers, reflecting his distorted face.

"Who said..." Bai Ying stepped forward slowly, the Qiankun Mirror rotating gently in her palm, emitting a soft hum. "Father wouldn't slander his daughter?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she suddenly tossed the bronze mirror in her hand into the air. The Qiankun Mirror grew larger in the wind, instantly transforming into a huge mirror that hovered above everyone's heads.

Bai Ying formed her right hand into a claw, and an invisible suction force pulled Xia Mingde, who was slumped on the ground, into the air, her five fingers hooking around his crown.

"You think I can't prove you're lying just because there's no evidence?" Bai Ying's voice was as cold as ice. "My soul-searching technique will bring back all the most vivid scenes from your memories."

Ripples spread across the Qiankun Mirror like water, and images flashed by like a revolving lantern:

That day, what Xia Mingde said was completely the opposite.

Xia Qingdai deliberately lured a demonic beast to kill Xia Yuwei.

That's not the case at all.

It was clearly Xia Yuwei who deliberately lured the demonic beasts, intending for them to kill Xia Qingdai.

However, Xia Qingdai had already seen through her scheme, which is why Xia Yuwei suffered the consequences of her own actions and became the target of the demon beast.

Xia Mingde stared intently at the images flashing across the Qiankun Mirror, his cloudy eyes almost bulging out of their sockets. He trembled violently, his cracked lips moving incessantly: "No...this can't be..."

Suddenly, he roared like a mad beast, "No!" He frantically scratched his hair, trying to distort the image in the mirror with his imagination. He frantically constructed a picture in his mind of Xia Qingdai cruelly murdering his sister, imagining Xia Qingdai as an unforgivable demon.

However, the Qiankun Mirror still faithfully reflected the true memories—in the scene, Xia Yuwei had tried to kill Xia Qingdai more than once, and the last time Xia Qingdai fell off the cliff was actually caused by Xia Yuwei.

That's why Xia Qingdai kept Xia Yuwei outside the barrier she had set up this time, letting Xia Yuwei be bitten to death by the monster!

It seems that Xia Yuwei's death at the hands of the monster was entirely her own fault!

The people stared in disbelief at the scene displayed in the Qiankun Mirror.

They looked at Xia Mingde in disbelief. They trusted him so much, thinking that everything he said was true.

But little did he know that everything he said as Xia Qingdai's biological father was a lie!

"How could this be..." An elderly man with white hair pointed tremblingly at the mirror in the crowd. "Last time Xia Qingdai fell off the cliff, it was Xia Yuwei who caused it... Not only did she harm her once, but she even tried to kill her again. What wrong did Xia Qingdai do by not saving such a person!"

"That's right! Moreover, Xia Yuwei attracted that monster entirely on her own. Even if she dies, it can't be blamed on Xia Qingdai! I really don't understand why Lord Xia treats Xia Qingdai like this. Isn't Xia Qingdai his daughter?"

"Xia Yuwei is utterly heartless! She's a vicious woman. She deserved to die. Xia Mingde isn't a good person either; how could we have trusted him so much!"

The burly men who had been shouting the loudest earlier were now ashen-faced and unconsciously shrank back into the crowd. The butcher who had threatened to burn Xia Qingdai alive was now frantically wiping the cold sweat from his forehead with his greasy sleeve.

But even more disgusting scenes continued—

The mirror clearly reflected Xia Mingde's hypocritical face after Xia Yuwei's death. Far from showing any grief for his daughter, he fawned over Xia Qingdai with a forced smile: "Qingdai is our true flesh and blood, Yuwei... she's ultimately just an outsider. Qingdai, your father knows he was wrong... Now that you've joined the immortal sect, you must help our family..."

When Xia Qingdai coldly refused and announced the severance of their father-daughter relationship, Xia Mingde's expression instantly changed, becoming as ferocious as a demon. He secretly bribed local thugs to spread rumors, and even spent a large sum of money to hire Xuan Chengzi to plot against his own daughter.

"You beast!" a farmer carrying a hoe suddenly roared, "I, Old Li, have lived most of my life and have never seen such a shameless creature!"

The people who had previously spoken ill of Xia Qingdai because of the rumors were now so ashamed that they wished they could disappear into the ground.

Bai Ying coldly swept her gaze over the crowd, and with a light wave of her slender hand, the Qiankun Mirror that reflected the truth turned into a stream of light and disappeared into her palm.

She turned to look at Xia Mingde, who was slumped on the ground, her voice as cold as ice from the deepest hell: "Lord Xia, do you have anything to say now?"

Xia Mingde was covered in mud, and his usually dignified face was now twisted like a demon.

He suddenly threw his head back and let out a maniacal laugh, a laugh filled with chilling malice: "Hahaha...you monstrous beast! I should have strangled you, you bastard, with my own hands the moment your mother gave birth to you!"

Bai Ying's eyes flashed even colder. She had heard such vicious words more than once... These people would never reflect on their mistakes, and would always push the blame onto others.

In that split second, Xia Mingde suddenly launched an attack! He pulled out a dagger gleaming with a chilling blue light from somewhere, and lunged at Bai Ying with a ferocious expression: "Die!"

The onlookers screamed in terror; Wei Ji's sword had only been drawn half an inch from its sheath—

Bai Ying's expression remained unchanged; she simply raised her right hand casually and tapped lightly with her slender fingers.

A dazzling golden light shot out from her fingertips, like a shooting star streaking across the sky.

With a soft "poof" sound.

Xia Mingde's forward momentum suddenly froze, and a blood hole the size of a thumb appeared on his forehead.

His wide eyes still held a final madness and resentment, but his body had already fallen heavily to the ground like a rag doll.

A gentle breeze swept by, carrying a few withered leaves that drifted down onto Xia Mingde's gradually cooling body.

Bai Ying lowered her eyes and stared at the gradually stiffening corpse on the ground, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes.

Out of consideration for Xia Qingdai, she originally did not intend to take the couple's lives—perhaps a better punishment would be to let them live the rest of their lives in regret and pain.

But she never expected Xia Mingde to be even more vicious than she had imagined.

In retrospect, some people really would have been better off dead...
