Chapter 205 A Familiar Face in the Portrait

Cheng Chunkui and her aunts and grandmas were in the yard, preparing fried chicken frames, various kebabs, and braised products to sell that evening.

After she finished arranging the work for the older women, she heard the sound of a car engine coming from outside the yard.

She hurriedly ran out of the yard and, unsurprisingly, saw Song Jingchuan get out of the jeep.

She greeted him with a smile, "Dr. Song! You've arrived!"

She smiled shyly, and as soon as she spoke, a blush involuntarily appeared on her face.

Song Jingchuan said, "I came to see you. I've already seen Xiao Kui."

Cheng Chun-kui looked up and asked, "You saw Xiao-kui? How is Xiao-kui? Is she alright?"

Song Jingchuan said, "She's fine. She's a good person, and her attitude is good too, it's just..."

Cheng Chun-kui hurriedly asked, "What is it? How is my sister?"

Song Jingchuan said, "It's because all she can think about is Si Muyang."

He hesitated for a moment, but decided not to tell Cheng Chunqiu the truth.

Should we tell Cheng Chunqiu that Cheng Xiaokui was being interrogated under duress? Cheng Chunqiu couldn't help at all and could only worry helplessly.

Rather than doing that, it's better to say nothing.

Cheng Chun-kui said, "That's for sure, she likes Si Mu-yang. They have a very good relationship. Dr. Song, please come in and have a seat!"

She raised her hand in a gesture of invitation and led Song Jingchuan into the room.

Hearing that Cheng Xiao Kui was alright, she felt relieved.

Song Jingchuan followed Cheng Chunkui into the room and sat down at one side of the square table.

Cheng Chun Kui hurriedly took out tea leaves and brewed a pot for Song Jing Chuan, using the finest tea leaves that she herself was reluctant to drink.

She said, "Dr. Song, why don't you try this tea? My sister says it's very fragrant. She usually doesn't even drink it herself."

Upon hearing that it was the tea that Cheng Xiaokui liked to drink, Song Jingchuan picked up the teacup and took a sip.

He said, "This is indeed good tea! The tea leaves are excellent."

As he spoke, he glanced out the window, making sure no one was watching him and Cheng Chunqiu before continuing, "What have you thought about? Have you remembered what that person looks like?"

Cheng Chun-kui said, "Wait a minute!"

She quickly returned to her bedroom, brought the draft she had drawn, and showed it to Song Jingchuan.

Song Jingchuan kept observing the situation outside the window. From inside the room, he could see the entire courtyard and the courtyard gate through the glass window.

There was no one spying on them, inside or outside.

With her hands in her pockets, Cheng Chun Kui returned to Song Jing Chuan's room, took out her painting, and handed it to him.

She said, "I can't draw, but I tried to draw what I had in mind. What do you think? Does it look alright?"

Song Jingchuan opened the white paper that Cheng Chunkui handed him; it was a drawing Cheng Chunkui had made in pencil.

It is clear that Cheng Chun-kui has never studied painting and drew it entirely based on her own imagination.

Song Jingchuan frowned and said, "This appearance..."

Cheng Chun-kui said, "I'm not good at drawing... it's not as lifelike as what professional artists draw."

Song Jingchuan said, "It's not a matter of whether it looks like the original or not... Um... keep this safe, I'll go find a professional artist. I'll be going now!"

After he finished speaking, he quickly got up and left the room, his mind full of questions.

Why does the portrait drawn by Cheng Chun-kui look so familiar...?

Did Cheng Chun Kui draw it wrong, or...?

He drove to the police station, went directly to the police chief to explain the situation, and requested that a sketch artist be assigned to assist them in their work.

Given the Song family's prestige and background in the capital, the police chief would definitely give Song Jingchuan's father some face.

Moreover, this matter is related to catching spies, and all departments will fully cooperate.

The police chief dispatched his best sketch artist to go to Cheng Xiaokui's house with Song Jingchuan.

Along the way, Song Jingchuan instructed the painter and the other two to pretend to be friends and not let anyone know that he had come here to paint on purpose.

The artists in the Public Security Bureau had seen all sorts of big scenes, so this kind of small matter was a piece of cake for them.

He followed Song Jingchuan to Cheng Xiaokui's home. The two exchanged pleasantries as they walked into the courtyard, looking like old friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time.

Song Jingchuan said to Cheng Chunqiu, "I'm treating my buddy to dinner today, and we want to have a quiet chat for a while!"

Cheng Chun-kui immediately said, "Why don't you eat in the room? It's quiet there!"

Song Jingchuan said with a smile, "Okay, then I'll trouble you!"

Cheng Chun-kui said, "What's so troublesome about this? Dr. Song, please come in!"

She walked ahead, opened the door to the room, and invited Song Jingchuan and the painter in to sit down.

She instructed the aunties and grandmas to bring out the best dishes in the shop.

To be honest, the artist has never eaten fried chicken frames and various kinds of grilled skewers.

The artist's face lit up with surprise; he hadn't expected that a business trip would lead to a free treat.

The key thing is this fried chicken frame. He had heard about it before, but unfortunately he lived far away from here, so he had never been able to buy one to try.

I can't believe I got to eat it today!

Cheng Chun-kui even opened two bottles of beer and placed them on the table. She turned and walked out of the room to greet the guests.

Song Jingchuan invited the painter to eat barbecue skewers and drink beer, and the two chatted idly.

Everything was so natural that no one could tell that something was wrong.

Cheng Chun-kui was busy outside for a while, and once all the tables were full and the guests were eating, she finished.

She then carried a large tray of grilled skewers to the room to deliver them to Song Jingchuan.
