Chapter 143: Treating Wu Pin

This cave should be where hunters or herbalists lived in the past. With such good facilities, Yan Baibai felt that it would be unreasonable not to place Wu Pin here.

With the system's help, Yan Baibai quickly moved Wu Pin to the bed inside the cave. The bed was covered with a thick layer of hay, which was not too hard to touch. After boiling water, Yan Baibai finally pulled out the annoying dagger from Wu Pin's chest.

When Yan Baibai heard the words "cliff" and "rescue" in the mission, he went to the clinic to buy some medicinal powder for treating external injuries while buying a means of transportation. The medicinal powder was very expensive, and of course, it was also very effective in stopping bleeding.

After treating Wu Pin's wound and feeding her some water, Yan Baibai washed the elixirs she had just picked and stewed them. After a while, the lingering fragrance of the herbs filled the entire cave.

As soon as the medicine cooled down, Yan Baibai was eager to feed it to Wu Pin, but her originally pale face suddenly turned red. A bad premonition came to her mind. Yan Baibai reached out and touched Wu Pin's forehead. Sure enough, Wu Pin had a fever.

Without time to give her medicine, Yan Baibai immediately went to fetch some cold stream water, cut off a section of Wu Pin's outer robe to use as a handkerchief, and began to cool her down physically. Yan Baibai frantically worked for a long time, and by the time Wu Pin's temperature stabilized, the medicine had already cooled completely.

"Oh~" Yan Baibai sighed helplessly, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and stretched her stiff waist. When she reached out to take the wet handkerchief from Wu Pin's forehead, her wrist was suddenly tightly grasped by a big hand.

"Ah!" Yan Baibai was startled. When she lowered her head, she saw a pair of extremely cold eyes. Before she could be shocked by Wu Pin's expression, the pain in her wrist brought her back to her senses: "Wu Pin, let go, it hurts!"

After shouting, Yan Baibai felt that the force pulling her wrist had weakened a lot, but Wu Pin's hand did not let go, and his eyes were fixed on her face.

"It's you..." Wu Pin's lips moved, his voice was very low and too low and hoarse: "Mianmian?"

"It's me, it's me, I'm white, plump, and healthy. You're not dazzled, and you're not dreaming."

Yan Baibai tried her best to speak cheerfully, but because the other person was a patient, her voice couldn't help but become gentle. She jokingly said, "Who on earth is so blind that dared to treat our Fairy Wu Pin like this? Tell me, and I'll pay someone to help you get revenge!"

Of course, patients need to keep themselves happy physically and mentally. Yan Baibai's words were certainly meant to make Wu Pin happy, and then, as expected, she saw the corners of his lips slightly raised.

Just when Yan Baibai thought her plan was successful, the other party's words immediately poured cold water on her.

"It's my mother."

"Uh..." Yan Baibai felt that he was not good at joking, and was simply bringing up things that were not related to the topic!

The corners of Wu Pin's lips, which had just been raised, were suddenly filled with self-mockery and sadness.

"I'm sorry." Yan Baibai took the other person's hand actively.

"Nothing." Feeling his hand being wrapped by a pair of small hands, and looking at the heartache and self-blame in the other's eyes, Wu Pin actually felt that the anger that had been pent up in his heart suddenly dissipated a lot.

"Mianmian." Wu Pin moved his hand, feeling the warmth of the other's hand. The meanness in his heart made him continue to act out his sadness: "This is not the first time my mother has done this. Anyway, I have been abandoned all my life. No one in the world likes someone like me."

"How could that be?" Yan Baibai tried to soften her voice, as if she was treating Wu Pin as a fragile child. "Aren't we friends? I like you very much. Besides, don't forget Zi Da and Zi Er."

"You...and them, do you like me?"

"Well, we all like Fairy Wu Pin." Yan Baibai said as he pulled his hand away, but it didn't move. He said helplessly, "So, please take the medicine well and get better soon, okay?"
