Chapter 223 Mysterious Treasure

The demon roared in pain, its body trembling violently, black blood oozing from the wound under its armpit. It swung its battle axe angrily and attacked Mo Xi and the other two frantically, trying to kill them.

Mo Xi and the other two didn't dare to take the demon's attack head-on, and they all used their physical skills to dodge. Wherever the battle axe passed, space seemed to be torn apart, leaving deep gullies on the stone walls of the passage.

"It seems that this attack has caused considerable damage to it, but it is not enough to defeat it." Mo Xi dodged while observing the movements of the demon.

The demon seemed to realize that Mo Xi and the other two had discovered its weakness, and it became more cautious in its attacks, trying to avoid exposing its underarms. It changed its attack pattern, no longer blindly attacking them. Instead, it circled around the three of them, launching surprise attacks from time to time, making it difficult for Mo Xi and the other two to find opportunities to attack its weaknesses again.

While dodging the attacks, Mu Li noticed that every time the demon exerted force, the heavy armor at the joints of its legs would slightly loosen. With a sudden thought, she called out to Mo Xi and Mu Yang, "Brother Mo Xi, Uncle, its leg joints might also be a weak point. Let's find a way to attack there!"

Mo Xi and Mu Yang immediately understood. The three of them began to consciously guide the demon's attack, approaching the joints of its legs. When the demon swung its battle axe at Mo Xi again, Mo Xi cleverly dodged sideways and deliberately moved towards the demon's legs, luring the demon to pursue.

The demon fell for the trick and strode towards Mo Xi, raising its massive foot to try and stomp him. At that moment, Mu Yang, seizing the perfect opportunity, unleashed an earth-based spell, sending several sharp stone pillars rising from the ground and piercing the demon's leg joints. The demon, sensing the attack from below, tried to retract its foot, but the stone pillars were too fast, and one of them still pierced its joint, leaving a small nick in its heavy armor.

The demon felt pain and turned to look at Mu Yang angrily. Meanwhile, Mu Li had already quietly circled behind the demon. She concentrated all her spiritual power and thrust her sword fiercely into the gap in the demon's leg joint, then twisted it vigorously.

"Ah!" The demon let out a deafening scream, its legs softened, and it fell to one knee. Mo Xi seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, flew up, and stabbed the demon's neck with his sword. Dark spiritual power flowed along the sword into the demon's body.

The demon struggled for a few times before finally collapsing to the ground, transforming into a cloud of black smoke and dissipating into the air. Mo Xi and the other two looked at the place where the demon disappeared and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Finally got rid of this big guy." Mu Yang said after wiping the sweat from his forehead.

"Well, but we can't let our guard down. We have to quickly find out the purpose of this treasure and stop the forces behind the man in black robes." Mo Xi said.

The three of them once again took out the mysterious key-shaped artifact and examined it carefully. Mu Li discovered that the runes on the artifact seemed to resonate with the energy flow in the surrounding space. She tried to follow the rhythm of the runes' flickering and inserted the artifact into a seemingly ordinary groove in the passage wall.

The moment the treasure was inserted into the groove, the passage began to vibrate violently, and a hidden door appeared in the wall. The door slowly opened, revealing a space filled with light. In the center of the space was a huge magic circle, engraved with runes similar to those on the treasure.

"It seems that this is the key." Mo Xi said.

The three of them walked into the space where the magic circle was located. As soon as they stepped in, the magic circle emitted a dazzling light, enveloping them. In the light, some ancient words and images emerged, as if conveying some kind of message.

Mu Li, fluent in many ancient scripts, carefully deciphered the information. "It says this treasure is the key to sealing the source of chaos in the Yin-Yang Realm. We need to place the treasure at the core of the magic circle and then activate the runes in a specific order to activate the seal. But this process must be completed before the Yin-Yang Realm is completely thrown into chaos, otherwise everything will be irreversible."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get started!" Mu Yang said.

Mo Xi and Mu Li nodded, and the three of them immediately began to act according to the method Mu Li had interpreted. Mo Xi was responsible for observing the energy changes around the magic circle, Mu Yang assisted Mu Li in adjusting the position of the treasure, and Mu Li was concentrating on activating the runes in order.

As the runes were activated one by one, the light of the magic circle grew stronger and stronger. But just as the last few runes were about to activate, a powerful dark force suddenly surged from the ground, trying to prevent them from completing the seal...

The dark force surged like a black tsunami, instantly swallowing up most of the light surrounding the magic circle. Mo Xi, Mu Li, and Mu Yang were almost shaken by the force.

"Where does this dark power come from?" Mu Yang shouted loudly while trying to steady his body.

Mo Xi's face was solemn as he quickly observed his surroundings. "The forces behind the black-robed man must have noticed that we were sabotaging their plans, so they're deliberately trying to stop us. We can't let them succeed. Everyone, hold on!"

Mu Li gritted her teeth and waved her hands repeatedly, speeding up the activation of the runes. However, the dark power kept attacking and interfering with her movements, and she almost interrupted the activation sequence several times.

Several dark figures emerged faintly from the darkness, their forms shifting and elusive, pounced upon the three like ghosts. Mo Xi drew his sword and charged at the shadows. Their speed was so great that Mo Xi could only rely on his keen senses and quick reflexes to wield his sword to parry. Every time the sword collided with the shadows, a burst of black sparks flew, and a powerful recoil was transmitted to Mo Xi's arms.
