Chapter 211 Return to the Underworld

Everyone began to explore the Misty Forest. Mu Li, relying on her keen sense of spiritual energy, gradually approached the center of the formation.

Suddenly, an ancient stone tower appeared in front of them, filled with an evil aura. Mu Li concluded, "The center of the formation must be beneath that stone tower."

"What? Why is it here?" The beastmen were horrified.

"What's wrong? Is there something wrong here?" Mu Li asked in confusion.

"This is where the ancestors of my beast tribe have passed away. Every senior whose time is up will enter the stone tower on his own and rest here!" said an old man of the beast tribe.

Mu Li frowned and said after thinking for a moment: "I'm afraid that the person who set up the formation deliberately chose this place because he took advantage of your respect for the ancestral holy land. This way it will not be easily discovered, and no one will dare to get close to investigate." Everyone thought it made sense.

"If this is true, we will never let this person go!" The beastmen said indignantly.

"Everyone, please go in first. Don't worry, I will act carefully and try not to disturb the heroic spirits of our ancestors." Mu Li said, and walked towards the stone tower cautiously.

"Goddess, wait a minute! The entrance to this stone tower is forbidden. Only the blood of a dying beastman can open it." At this time, an old beastman with a lion's body and a human face stepped forward and said, "I feel that my time is up. Let me open this restriction!"

"Old Patriarch!"

"Old Chief!" The beastmen gathered around and shouted sadly.

"It's okay, this day will come eventually. If I can help the goddess break the evil formation today and let my beast tribe regain its vitality, then my death will be a worthy one." The old patriarch looked at his people lovingly.

Everyone nodded with tears in their eyes. The old patriarch walked to the entrance of the stone tower, cut his palm, and blood dripped on the door. The stone door slowly opened, and a stale and decayed smell hit them in the face.

Mu Li led the way into the stone tower, followed closely by the others. The interior was dark and eerie, its walls covered in reliefs of the orc ancestors. The further in, the thicker the darkness grew.

Suddenly, several dark shadows rushed out and rushed towards everyone.

"It's a puppet!" Zi Lan Xingjun shouted loudly.

"How could my beast tribe have such a thing?" the old patriarch asked in surprise.

"Goddess, be careful!" the guardian exclaimed.

Mu Li quickly took out the talisman paper and muttered something. The talisman paper turned into golden light and knocked down the black shadow.

When the black shadows landed on the ground, everyone discovered that these puppets were actually the half-human, half-beast predecessors who had passed away all those years ago.

“How could this happen? Who is so cruel to turn them into puppets?!” the old patriarch said with great sorrow.

"This stone tower is really magical! It actually goes downwards?!" Mu Yang couldn't help but exclaimed.

Finally, Mu Li and others arrived at the center of the bottom of the stone tower. A huge black magic circle was flashing with faint light. At the center of the circle, a man in a black robe was sitting with his head down under a black crystal ball. He was motionless, and only the crystal ball above his head was constantly absorbing the spiritual power on it.

"Who are you? How dare you set up an evil formation here?!" the old patriarch shouted loudly.

But the man didn't move at all and ignored it!

"Grandpa Chief, no matter who he is, he has caused our Beast Tribe to be in this situation today, and he has also turned several of our predecessors into puppets. He must pay the price today!" said a young half-orc in the Beast Tribe.

"right!"

"We can't let him go!" the other orcs echoed.

"Chief, there's no need to be angry. This person has no vital signs and must have died a long time ago!" Mu Li said after sensing it.

"What?" The old patriarch was surprised and went up to the man, brushing aside his hair. He was horrified and said, "How could it be him?!"

"Grandpa Chief, who is this person? Do you know him?" asked the young orc.

"I know him. He is the last person in our beast tribe who successfully transformed! He is also the previous chief of the beast tribe!" The old chief said tremblingly.

"What?! It's the previous clan leader?!"

"He was the last person in our Beast Tribe to successfully transform. I heard he was extremely talented. Back then, the Beast Tribe's spiritual power was gradually depleting, making cultivation difficult. He cultivated to the level of a Spiritual Transformation through his own strength. He also got some opportunity and transformed into a human form overnight. He became the most powerful person in the Beast Tribe in a thousand years and was even elected as the Beast Tribe's leader!"

"But didn't he say four hundred years ago that his time was up, passed the position of patriarch to the old patriarch, and then entered the stone tower, never to be seen again?"

"Yeah, why are you here?"

"Could it be that he set up this evil formation? Doesn't that mean he is the one who caused the crisis for our clan?"

The beastmen were talking among themselves and looking at the old chief in disbelief.

"Goddess." The old patriarch bowed respectfully to Mu Li, "Goddess, we want to know the truth!"

Mu Li stepped forward, summoned the Book of Life and Death from her body, and injected a trace of divine power into it. The Book of Life and Death then emitted a golden light that enveloped the deceased. In an instant, the scenes of the deceased's life were displayed before everyone.

It turned out that although the previous clan leader was gifted, it was difficult for him to transform without the Transformation Pill. So he made a deal with a man in black robes, letting the man in to secretly set up an evil formation at the bottom of the stone tower in exchange for the Transformation Pill!

Seeing the orcish land's spiritual energy dwindling and cultivation becoming increasingly difficult, he realized that his life would eventually end. So, he disguised himself as someone nearing death and hid in a stone tower, drawing spiritual energy from the black crystal to nourish himself and prolong his life! As his spiritual energy was drained, his body was gradually eroded by darkness, eventually faking his death. However, the formation continued to function, preserving his body from becoming mere bones.

"This is simply insane!" The orcs couldn't help but curse when they saw these scenes.

"He's already absorbing spiritual energy to extend his lifespan, so why did he still turn several seniors into puppets?!"
