Chapter 88 Endless Tests

A white-haired old man walked out of the house. He had deep eyes and a mysterious smile on his face.

"Since you are here, why are you in such a hurry to leave?" The old man's voice was steady and powerful.

Mo Xi and Mu Li stopped and looked at the old man warily.

Mo Xi bowed and said, "Senior, we have no intention of offending you. We just happened to be passing by."

The old man waved his hand gently: "Don't be nervous, I've been waiting here for a long time."

Mu Li asked in surprise: "Waiting for us? You know us?"

The old man smiled without saying anything, turned and walked into the house.

Mo Xi and Mu Li looked at each other, hesitated for a moment, and then followed him into the wooden house.

The interior of the house is simply decorated, but it exudes an ancient atmosphere.

The old man sat on the chair and said slowly: "The answer you are looking for may be here."

Mo Xi frowned: "Senior, what do you mean by this?"

The old man said slowly, "I know a little about that mysterious organization and that treasure."

Mu Li said anxiously, "Please explain clearly, Senior."

The old man was silent for a moment, then said, "That treasure is not as wonderful as the legend says. It may bring endless disasters. And that organization has long since fallen into madness."

Mo Xi asked, "Then how can we stop this?"

The old man stood up, walked to the window, and looked out at the forest. "You'll need to find the answer yourself, but first, you must pass a test."

Mo Xi and Mu Li asked in unison: "What test?"

The old man smiled slightly: "This test is in the cave behind this wooden house..."

"I give up, why is it a cave again???" Mu Li couldn't help but mutter.

Mo Xi gently pulled Mu Li's hand.

"Hahaha, this girl is pretty good!" the old man laughed out loud.

Mo Xi and Mu Li looked at each other, their eyes full of determination.

"Senior, no matter what the test is, we are willing to give it a try." Mo Xi said.

The old man nodded and took them to the cave behind the wooden house.

"This cave is full of dangers. You must rely on your own wisdom and courage to get through it. Remember, only by keeping your mind clear of distractions can you succeed." After the old man said this, he turned and left.

Mo Xi and Mu Li took a deep breath and walked into the cave. As soon as they entered, a damp and rotten smell hit them in the face. It was pitch black all around, and the only sound they could hear was the sound of dripping water.

"Brother Prince, this place is too eerie and scary, isn't it?" Mu Li tightly grasped the corner of Mo Xi's clothes.

Mo Xi comforted her, "Don't be afraid, Ali, I'm here."

They walked forward cautiously, when suddenly the ground beneath their feet began to shake and rocks began to fall from above their heads.

Mo Xi quickly pulled Mu Li to hide in a corner.

"This should be a mechanism." Mo Xi said as he looked around.

After the shaking stopped, they continued on their way. Not far away, they encountered a bottomless ravine with only a rickety wooden bridge across it.

Mo Xi stepped onto the single-plank bridge first and tried it out. "Ali, follow me and be careful."

Mu Li nodded and followed Mo Xi slowly across the single-plank bridge.

However, the test was far from over. Several forks in the road appeared ahead, each filled with a different kind of fog.

"How do I choose?" Mu Li was a little anxious.

Mo Xi thought calmly, "Let's observe the flow of the fog first."

After some observation, they chose one of the intersections. When they walked in, they found that it was full of dense spider webs and huge spiders were crawling on the webs.

Mu Li screamed in fear, and Mo Xi swung his sword, repelling the spiders one by one.

Just when they thought they were about to pass the test, a stone gate blocked their way.

"There must be a way to open this stone door." Mo Xi looked around for the mechanism.

Finally, on one side of the stone gate, Mo Xi found a groove, the shape of which was similar to a token they had obtained before.

Mu Li took out the token and placed it into the groove, and the stone door slowly rose.

"Finally passed!" Mu Li said excitedly.

But when they walked out of the cave, they found that the old man had disappeared, and in front of them, there appeared a yellowed ancient book...

Mo Xi walked forward, picked up the ancient book, and gently opened it. He saw some strange symbols and words densely written on it.

"What is this, Prince brother?" Mu Li came over and asked.

Mo Xi shook his head: "I'm not sure, but I feel like this might be the key to solving the mystery."

The two sat aside, studying the ancient book carefully. Just as they were thinking hard, a gust of wind blew, and the pages of the ancient book turned rapidly.

Mo Xi hurriedly pressed the page of the book, but found that a map appeared on the page where the turning stopped.

"Ali, look, this seems to be a map of this valley." Mo Xi said in surprise.

Mu Li looked at it carefully and said, "But there are many marks on this map that I can't understand."

Mo Xi frowned: "Anyway, let's follow the map first."

They followed the map and encountered all kinds of strange traps and obstacles along the way, but they overcame them one by one with their previous experience and mutual understanding.

As they walked, they came to the depths of a valley where there was an ancient tower.

"Could the answer be in this tower?" Mu Li said, looking up at the tower.

Mo Xi nodded: "It's possible, be careful, let's go in and take a look."

As soon as I entered the tower, I heard a sinister laugh from inside.
