Chapter 21 Going to school in half a month

"Sister, I won't go to school! I've made up my mind. I won't go to school anymore! Teacher Zheng, please leave!"

Jiang Yi had a cold face and his attitude was very tough.

Teacher Zheng's newly ignited hope was shattered again. She didn't expect that Jiang Li agreed, but Jiang Yi disagreed. The situation was even more difficult than before.

Jiang Li saw the disappointment in Teacher Zheng's eyes. She held the baby in one hand and hugged her brother's neck with the other.

"Teacher Zheng, wait a moment. Jiang Yi and I will go back to the room to talk alone for a while."

The brother and sister came into the room together. Teacher Zheng didn't know the result of their discussion, so he felt uneasy.

The door of the room is closed to block out the outside sounds.

Jiang Li bent down and put the baby on the bed. She tilted her head and asked casually, "Why don't you want to study? Do you hate studying or is it because your family's financial situation doesn't allow it?"

Jiang Yi pursed his lips and said nothing. He was already very sad about the decision he made against his conscience, and he couldn't bear to lie to his sister!

If he told his sister the truth, it would undoubtedly increase her psychological burden, so he could only use silence instead of his answer.

"Jiang Yi, I'm talking to you! No matter what you think in your heart, please say it out loud!"

Jiang Yi looked at her with red eyes, and it was heartbreaking to see him wanting to say something but not daring to.

"Sister, I, I..."

If he would be sold if he wanted to go to school, he would rather not go!

"My family needs me, and I don't want to go to school anymore! I want to stay and take care of you and the baby. It's good for us to be together as a family. I don't dare to think about anything else."

Jiang Yi's words were indeed what was in his heart, but they sounded a bit unwilling and helpless.

"If I asked you to go to school, would you not go?"

"I don't want to go to school. I don't want to be sold anymore!"

Jiang Yi's tears immediately flowed down. On the day he was sold, he was shocked and angry at first, but later he just wanted to leave.

After leaving, he didn't know where to go, and finally returned to his sister's house. He cried and begged his sister not to sell him again.

He thought his sister would not agree, but unexpectedly his sister softened her heart and kept him.

For someone like him who was almost abandoned, it was good enough for him to stay with his sister. How could he dare to have any extravagant hopes?

What about the future and tomorrow? Do these things matter to someone who almost died?

"I won't sell you even if you go to school! I said I'd keep you and we'd be together forever. Do you no longer believe what I said? Or do you even no longer believe me as a person?"

Some injuries may seem to have passed on the surface but they remain in the heart forever.

Jiang Yi usually appears lively and cheerful, but in fact he is still very concerned about being sold.

"I believe you, sister. I know the situation at home, and I just don't want you to work too hard. Sister, there's nothing good about going to school. You still have to work after graduation. Now that my family needs me, I might as well stay and do something!"

Jiang Yi thought he had figured it out, but Jiang Liyuan brought up the matter again, forcing him to face the huge gap between going to school and not going to school.

"After graduation, you can earn ten or even a hundred times more than you do now, and the work will be much easier. If you don't go to school now, you'll be a farmer all your life!"

"I do need you, but only during the confinement period. Once I'm done and have sorted out the things I have on hand, you must return to school!"

It has been a long time since his sister has been so mean to him. Jiang Yi used to be afraid of being scolded by his sister, but this time, for some reason, he was actually very happy to be scolded.

His sister is forcing him to go to school. It feels like a dream. It feels so good!

Jiang Yi looked at his sister with tears in his eyes, and he slapped himself hard.

He hit the face so hard that half of his face was swollen in an instant.

The severe pain reminded him that this was real and not a dream, his sister really let him go to school!

"Thank you, sister. I will repay you when I become successful in the future!"

If his sister really lets him go to school, Jiang Yi is willing to put aside the past grudges, and his sister will be everything to him from now on!

He is a man and he definitely does what he says!

"Silly boy, I won't lie to you. Let's forget about the unpleasant things in the past. From now on, I will be your best sister!"

"Sister, you have always been the best sister in my heart."

Jiang Yi held his sister's hand and put his face on the back of her hand.

Hot tears seeped in between my fingers and ran across my palms.

"Okay, stop crying. How can a boy of your age always cry? Let's go out. You can talk to Teacher Zheng later."

"Well, I said it myself."

Jiang Yi wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes and nodded heavily towards his sister.

The brother and sister walked into the main room hand in hand. Teacher Zheng saw Jiang Yi's red eyes at a glance, and she stood up from her chair excitedly.

"Jiang Yi, what do you say?"

"Teacher Zheng, I'm willing to go to school."

Jiang Yi, who had originally given up on going to school, did not expect that this time he was pushed into the school gate by his sister.

"That's great, that's really great! I'll go to school and apply for the special aid for outstanding students for you. Oh. No, the school is closed today, I'll apply tomorrow!"

Teacher Zheng was so happy that he was a little incoherent. After three visits, he finally saved an excellent seedling.

As an excellent people's teacher, Teacher Zheng feels very proud.

"Teacher Zheng, although I can go to school, it's not now. I have to wait for half a month."

Seeing Teacher Zheng so happy, Jiang Yi also smiled.

He didn't want to spoil her fun, but some facts were right in front of her and he had to tell them sooner or later.

"Why is that?"

As soon as Teacher Zheng asked this question, he quickly figured it out. It must be because Jiang Li had just given birth to a child half a month ago and still needed to stay in confinement for another half a month.

Their family's situation really requires someone to take care of them. Half a month is not difficult to wait, but what Teacher Zheng is afraid of is another half a month after that.

What if Jiang Yi's sister changes her mind halfway, who can she turn to for justice?

"Jiang Yi hasn't been to school for a few months, and he's fallen behind in his previous courses. If he delays for another half a month, the final exams will be almost here. I'm afraid he won't be able to keep up with the progress by then, right?"

"Teacher Zheng, if you have the textbooks for the first semester of the eighth grade, could you please send me a copy first? Although I'm taking care of my nephew at home, I can still study independently in my free time and strive to catch up as soon as possible so that I won't lag behind the class in the final exam."

As a former academic master, Jiang Yi still has some confidence.

"Sister Jiang Yi, are you sure you want Jiang Yi to continue going to school?"

"Of course, I mean what I say!"

"Okay, in that case, I'll go to school tomorrow to get a set of books and send them over. I'll also start applying for the outstanding student hardship allowance!"

Teacher Zheng is taking a gamble and is determined to wait for Jiang Yi to come no matter what.
