Chapter 141 Nine Luo

----------------

Demon Lord Mingying awoke from his bed with a splitting headache. He found the room bathed in sunlight and, covering his eyes, roared in fury, "Who dares to be so audacious? Don't they know I despise the light?!"

A pair of warm hands pulled down his cold hands that were covering his eyes, and his body blocked the intense light.

Demon Lord Mingying squinted and saw Tu Longjian standing in front of him, shielding him from the sun, smiling and saying, "Your Excellency."

The sunlight bathed her in a radiant glow, making her appear like a goddess descending to earth. For a fleeting moment, Demon Lord Mingying almost felt his heart flutter, but then he sneered inwardly.

This heart was merely a substitute made of grass and wood; how could it truly beat? It must be clinging to those foolish and cowardly thoughts of the past. Light, it brings no warmth whatsoever; he had never bothered with it.

Demon Lord Mingying flicked his sleeve and closed all the curtains in the room, plunging the room into complete darkness. The gauze curtains hung down, ambiguously concealing the figures of the two.

Demon Lord Mingying flipped over and pinned Tu Longjian down, his hand gripping her neck as he sneered:

"It doesn't matter where you learned about my past. I despise the light, and I also despise demons who think they've found my weaknesses."

You disgust me to the core!

"I no longer wish to guess your intentions. Go to hell."

He tried to strangle her with his bare hands, but saw Tu Longjian chuckle, seemingly unmoved. Even in the darkness, Demon Lord Mingying could still see, clearly discerning the emotions flowing in her eyes.

Tu Longjian stared at the pitch blackness before him, his hands groping haphazardly before finally touching the chest of Demon Lord Mingying.

Demon Lord Mingying's breath hitched, and his hand unconsciously lost its strength. He gritted his teeth, his tone filled with endless threat: "Don't touch me."

Now that the covenant with the Netherworld Shadow can influence the Demon Lord Netherworld Shadow, Tu Longjian is not afraid at all. Instead, he continues to adhere to his demon persona, smiling wickedly yet innocently.

She traced a circle on his chest with her fingertip and said in a deliberately aggrieved tone, "Your Majesty, do you have no heart?"

Upon hearing Tu Longjian's sensitive words, Demon Lord Mingying tensed up, and his killing intent was released once again.

He knew this female demon had ulterior motives; she had even discovered his secret of not having a heart. Now, he couldn't afford to let her live.

"You suddenly fainted, and I took care of you all night. In the morning, you talked in your sleep, asking for light, so I opened the curtain."

"Alas, I only admire you and have never harbored the slightest thought of disloyalty; I only wish to fight for you. It's just that you keep me by your side during the day, and then at night..."

Her tone was ambiguous and suggestive, "That's bad enough, but now you're actively pinning your subordinate to the bed, making my heart flutter, yet you want to strangle me. I really don't understand what you're thinking."

Seeing the alluring light in her eyes, transforming her from a goddess into a seductive demon in the blink of an eye, Demon Lord Mingying was dazed and somewhat embarrassed, yet also found her appearance more pleasing to the eye.

They are demons, and demons should hide in darkness, harbor desires, and fall into the abyss of worldly depravity.

He did have a photophobia when he was injured in the past, and last night he must have been troubled by his inner demons again.

Normally, when his strength was reduced, he would hide as a demon and not be discovered by any other demon, but he was unintentionally discovered by this female demon whom he had some doubts about.

She seemed to genuinely admire him; she did nothing, and obediently didn't call any other demons over, but silently took care of him all night.

Demon Lord Mingying released his grip, lifted the disheveled curtain, and left, his thin lips parting slightly: "Don't do it again. Don't say what you shouldn't say."

His voice was somewhat light and airy, clearly indicating that he was in a good mood.

Tu Longjian sat up from the darkness, a cold smile playing on his lips. He had finally gained a portion of his trust.

Since Tu Longjian discovered her secret, Demon Lord Mingying has trusted her more and gradually entrusted her with some important matters.

Tu Longjian also did an excellent job, organizing things in an orderly manner, unlike those clumsy demons who gave him headaches.

Unbeknownst to many, Demon Lord Mingying was increasingly valuing Tu Longjian, even showing a tendency to surpass Ji Aosi in importance. The demons were abuzz with discussion, privately calling her their "new favorite," and some even believed she might become the Demon Queen, given the increasingly intense gaze the Demon Lord gave her.

In their eyes, Yi Xuan was not only powerful but also incredibly brave in battle. In every battle she participated in, she killed the enemy cultivators with a single blow. However, what was slightly strange was that some demon soldiers would always disappear after the battle.

However, they didn't bother to carefully count the corpses. They only noticed that the familiar demons around them were missing, and assumed they had been killed by the enemy on the battlefield, so they didn't take it seriously.

But what they didn't expect was that the Demon Lord's "new favorite," who was expected to become the Demon Queen, caught everyone off guard in an important battle, including the Demon Lord himself.

Two armies faced off in front of Jiuluo City.

Ji Aosi led 100,000 demon troops to gather in front of the city, intending to attack it, but unexpectedly suffered heavy losses and retreated while fighting.

"Report! There are more people on their way here."

Ji Aosi overturned the table in front of her, her red-tasseled spear slamming to the ground. Her face was ashen: "What's going on! Do they have an inside man? The attack on Jiuluo is a secret, so why are the human cultivators gathering at the top?!"

"The best course of action now is either to fight or to preserve our strength," Tu Longjian stepped forward and spoke.

Ji Aosi donned her armor and roared, "Fight! How can we surrender without the Lord's permission?!"

"All demons, heed my command! Fight to the death with me!"

"Kill them!"

"kill!"

The demon soldiers, their faces flushed, frantically followed their commander in the charge, only to be slain by the human cultivator as easily as cutting melons and vegetables.

Banners obscured the sky, and Ji Aosi stared bloodshot at the familiar figure of a man above Jiuluo City.

The male cultivator, aloof and defiant, hovered above the city gate on his sword, appearing as if he were Song Liqing's captive!

She suddenly turned her head to look for Yi Xuan's figure, only to find that the female demon was now standing side by side with Song Liqing.

Ji Aosi finally understood that the inside man was Yi Xuan.

"Lord Ji, it was a pleasure working with you." Tu Longjian smiled, sword in hand, but saw that Ji Aosi was not as furious as she had imagined; instead, her expression was somewhat strange.

"All demons, heed my command! Retreat!" Ji Aosi gave the order decisively, and the demon soldiers, who had been scattered and bloodthirsty, suddenly retreated in an orderly manner as if they had rehearsed in advance.

"A mayfly trying to shake a tree." As Song Liqing's deep voice rang out, countless cultivators surged out from behind him, unleashing a barrage of arrows that pierced the chests of countless demonic soldiers, their screams echoing endlessly.

Ji Aosi fled in a disheveled state, pulling out a small teleportation scroll to instantly teleport away. Before leaving, her sinister laughter echoed across the battlefield, burrowing into people's hearts like a venomous snake.

"You think you've won? The Demon Lord expected this. It's just a border city. You'd better look back at what's behind you, hahahahaha!"
