Bonus Chapter 1: The Little Cubs Dominate the Kindergarten
After staying in Beijing for more than a month, Zhizhi and her family reluctantly embarked on their journey back to Suzhou.
Jiang Yan came by a few times, said a few words in a hurry, and then left.
The main purpose was to hand over some property-related procedures.
Jiang Anchao originally had nothing to say about this elder brother.
But he wasn't stupid. How could he not see that his older brother had given all his wealth to Zhizhi and didn't even intend to ask for custody? This was not a good thing.
In the end, Jiang Anchao didn't know how to comfort him.
So I could only advise him to look forward to the future.
Jiang Yan smiled but didn't say anything, telling him to go back home quickly and take care of his parents for him.
On the train, the family of three chatted happily. The woman in the opposite sleeper berth was from Northeast China. She was going south to look for business opportunities.
As soon as she got on the bus, her aunt stuffed a lot of delicious food into her hands.
The train journey of more than ten hours managed to fill Zhizhi's belly with food.
As dusk approached, the aunt began to tell the little boy some stories about her family.
At first, I found it quite interesting; it contained all sorts of content, bizarre and outlandish.
The more Zhizhi listened, the more frightened she became, so she pulled her father to listen with her.
She even called it a lie to her father; it's a little fairy tale from Northeast China.
Jiang Anchao listened to the audio until after 11 p.m., and he was completely unable to sleep, his mind filled with the strange things that happened in Northeast China.
When Jiang Anchao got off the train back in Suzhou, he had dark circles under his eyes. He went straight to sleep as soon as he got home.
Only Zhizhi was left to go out and visit various places and chat.
Since Han Yubin's incident, Sister Suisui and Xiaobao have been living with their mother back in the house near the textile factory.
However, this did not stop her older sister, Sui Sui, from frequently coming to visit her.
After discussing it, Zhizhi and Suisui still felt that selling vegetables was too slow, and that the adults would be busy with work after the spring, so the children simply couldn't handle such a large-scale task as setting up a stall.
So, Zhizhi suggested that Suisui come to the military dependents' home, since the factory is now encouraging its employees to do some small business.
Deng Qiu took his family's savings and, with a wave of his hand, rented a room at the entrance of the military dependents' compound and turned it into a small shop.
People used to buy things from the supply and marketing cooperative, but now they don't need coupons to buy vegetables and meat anymore.
Everyone simply trusted Deng Qiu and started buying from her.
There was even a telephone installed at the entrance, and on the day of the auspicious opening, many relatives and neighbors came to congratulate them.
Seeing that the quality and variety were both good, the business was booming.
Sui Sui helped with the accounting, and the money she earned each month supplemented the family income. After what happened to her husband, Feng Mei seemed like a completely different person.
Without her husband's oppression and extreme control, Fengmei became much more normal. She stopped throwing tantrums and started speaking more politely.
Even after she was among the first to be laid off, she took the initiative to go to Deng Qiu's door and beg her to work for her.
Sui Sui promised Deng Qiu that she would keep an eye on her mother and prevent her from causing trouble.
Deng Qiu originally didn't intend to agree, after all, she still didn't trust Feng Mei.
However, Zhizhi said that Suisui was pitiful and that it was really not easy for Fengmei to raise two children, so Deng Qiu had no choice but to give her a chance.
Unexpectedly, Fengmei actually managed to run the grocery store very well.
She tries to talk as little as possible and does as much work as she can.
As soon as Xiaobao is dropped off at kindergarten, she comes to the store to help out.
The family's life gradually improved.
Yuan Hui was sent to the senior class, and he always looked worried. No matter how Zhi Zhi asked him, he was unwilling to talk.
In the end, Zhizhi got impatient and simply asked him what he wanted to do.
Yuan Hui reluctantly told her that he was in the senior class and Zhizhi was in the junior class.
The two of them could never meet. He wanted to go to the junior class, but his dad wouldn't let him, and even asked him if it was too risky (wouldn't it be embarrassing?).
Upon hearing this, Zhizhi thought, "What's the big deal?"
Since she couldn't understand anything anywhere, she simply went to the senior class with Yuan Hui. After all, Yuan Hui was quick-witted, and many of the senior class children weren't as smart as him.
Before long, every day at dawn, you could see a string of little kids holding hands and running to the kindergarten on their own initiative.
Just a few days later, Deng Qiu was called in for a talk by the teacher.
The teacher said that Zhizhi, this little girl, looks very cute, but in fact, after a short time, all the children in the class started vying to call her "sister".
It seemed like Zhizhi was about to dominate the school, so the teacher asked her parents to discipline her properly.
Don't become a teenage reserve soldier later.
Enraged, Deng Qiu returned home, grabbed a broom, and wanted to beat Zhi Zhi.
Jiang Anchao came out to break up the fight, while Yuan Tengzhen and his wife sat on the sidelines, eating sunflower seeds and secretly amused.
There was no other way; Zhizhi's personality was just too lively now. Besides, Deng Qiu was only trying to scare the child; she couldn't bear to actually hit her.
Finally, Zhizhi pinched her earlobes with both hands and pitifully apologized to her mother.
The family then happily began their meal again.
"Well! We're still worried about Zhizhi. She's almost got the whole family under her thumb."
Yuan Tengzhen teased his wife.
Wen Qingqian disagreed, saying, "Zhizhi is so cute. She can win over many people; it just depends on whether she wants to or not."
As she spoke, she slung her small bag over her shoulder and walked out the door.
"Don't leave me any dinner tonight. I'm going with Cuiping to her prenatal checkup. The doctor wants her to have an ultrasound."
