The fleeting years reappeared, in yet another city, in a villa district of City C, in a two-story villa. She unlocked the key and went inside. There was no one in the living room, but there were still various children's toy cars that hadn't been put away yet.
She went upstairs and opened a room directly. The room was cozy and filled with the rich aroma of milk powder.
There was an adult and a child changing clothes in the room.
When Liu Nian came in, the woman who was changing the child's clothes saw her and smiled at her.
"Miss Liu Nian, you're back. Are you staying here tonight?"
Liu Nian shook his head, walked closer to them, and then said, "He didn't cause any trouble today, did he?"
The woman smiled and shook her head: "Guiyu is very well-behaved. He played with his toy cars in the living room all day. He didn't want to go out for a drive even when we wanted to!"
Liu Nian knew, so she just nodded. Looking at the child after he had changed his clothes, she thought for a moment, then hugged him and kissed him.
"Guiyu, do you miss your sister?"
"Yes." The little guy said sweetly, snuggling closer to Liu Nian as he spoke.
Liu Nian inhaled deeply the milky scent emanating from him; it smelled so good.
She couldn't resist giving him two more kisses on his chubby cheeks: "You're so good, I missed you too!"
No way! She's working herself to death every day. She just finished dealing with another baby today, and now she'll have to juggle three things at once.
Not only do I have to take care of their emotional well-being, but I also have to work hard to earn money to support them.
Baby formula, diapers, the nanny we hired—everything costs money!
Thinking about all this, Liu Nian felt like crying but had no tears left.
I carried the baby back to the living room and grabbed a toy car for him to play with.
well!
Time flies, and I sigh once again.
The thought that she had spent a whole hundred years in the book, had made almost enough money, and now she was going to start spending it all on her child made her feel depressed and upset.
She's already raised a child for two years, which has cost her a lot of money, and now she's added another one. Hmm, she's starting to think about the future.
She was really upset because the broken system that assigned her this task hadn't even turned on yet!
She has to rely on herself for everything. Although she has the ability, who wouldn't want to lie around like a couch potato every day?
But her life is tragic. Not only is she constantly busy with the kids, but when she's filming or rushing to events, if she finds out something is wrong with the three babies, she has to rush back immediately, otherwise it's hard to say whether she'll be able to live a good life in the future.
Thinking that she still had a chain of flower shops to run, she breathed a sigh of relief, feeling helpless that her thousand-year-old life was being wasted here.
Just as she was lamenting the unfairness of the system's task allocation, Aunt Xu, the nanny she had hired for the baby, came to her side and asked, "Miss Liu Nian, you haven't eaten yet, have you? I just cooked a few dishes, so you can eat now."
Liu Nian waved her hand to indicate that she had already eaten: "You go ahead and eat. I'll play with him for a while, then I'll leave."
Sister Xu didn't dawdle and finished her meal as quickly as possible before returning to the living room.
Seeing the two of them having so much fun, I couldn't help but feel a little wistful.
She felt that Liu Nian was so young, yet she had to shoulder the responsibility of supporting her younger brother, which was really not easy.
However, Liu Nian is indeed a star who makes money quickly and can command high monthly salaries; otherwise, he might not have been able to hire a good nanny.
“Miss Liu Nian, I’ve finished eating. If you have something urgent to attend to, please go ahead and do it. You can rest assured that Gui Yu is being taken care of by me. He’s very well-behaved.”
Thinking about the baby who was less than a month old, Liu Nian was really worried and didn't stay any longer.
But when she was about to leave, Xiao Guiyu, who was playing with toy cars, started to make a fuss and even got up to follow her.
The little guy looked at her with teary eyes, his big eyes brimming with tears that seemed about to fall, which really... struck her heart.
So cute!!
Liu Nian could tell from his expression that the little guy didn't want her to leave.
Helpless, Liu Nian picked him up and said to Sister Xu, "I'll wait until he falls asleep before I leave. Please tidy up the house first."
"Okay!" Sister Xu was happy to hear her say that. The two siblings rarely spent time together, and they would leave before even an hour had passed when they met. This time, Liu Nian was actually willing to wait until Xiao Guiyu was asleep before leaving, which was already quite good.
Liu Nian carried the baby back to the nursery, put the baby on the bed, and then skillfully opened the bedside table and took out an absurdly thick storybook.
The little baby seemed very happy to see her like this, so he crawled into the blankets and blinked his big eyes at Liu Nian, waiting for her to tell him a story.
Liu Nian also cooperated, leaning against the headboard, opening a storybook and beginning to tell a story.
Looking at the number of pages she's reading, she's already read one-third and one-fifth of it. It seems she intends to read this ridiculously thick storybook until he grows up.
After talking for almost an hour, the little baby finally started to doze off.
Seeing his sleepy look, Liu Nian patiently read for a while longer. After seeing that he had really fallen asleep, she closed the storybook, gently placed it on the cabinet, got up, tidied the baby's blanket, and couldn't help but kiss his cheek again before tiptoeing out.
Sister Xu has finished tidying up the house and is just waiting for Liu Nian to come out.
Since it was evening, Liu Nian only wore a mask and hat. She looked at Sister Xu and signaled that she was leaving. Sister Xu nodded, whispered to her to be careful on the way, and then watched Liu Nian enter the elevator before closing the door and going back to her room to see Xiao Guiyu.
Liu Nian checked the time; it was 8 PM, still early. This time, instead of using teleportation, she took a taxi to her flower shop.
