Memories he had forgotten at some point began to flood his mind in waves, some happy, some sad.
The images that flooded his mind at the end caused his face to turn pale, and his once vibrant red lips gradually lost their color.
In the scene, a woman of breathtaking beauty lies in a pool of blood. Before she breathes her last, she looks at him with eyes full of heartache and speaks to him word by word.
"Don't play with cars."
Then, as she looked at him with a face full of reluctance, she slowly lost all signs of illness.
In the video, he cried out in anguish, begging her to wake up, but no matter how much he called, the woman kept her eyes closed.
"Sister, I was wrong. I won't play with cars anymore. Please wake up, okay? Let's live a peaceful life together. You promised you'd always be there for me. How could you go back on your word!"
"Sister, you're asleep. I'll take you home. Let's go home."
"Don't you like my cooking? Let's go home, and I'll cook for you."
In the video, the woman's body was almost completely mangled from the car crash, except for her stunningly beautiful face, which was well preserved. The rest of her body was bleeding profusely.
Feng Guiyu carefully picked up the woman as if she were his beloved, afraid of hurting her.
My sister once said that she was most afraid of pain, and he said he would protect her and not let her get hurt.
But he was stopped shortly after he picked him up.
I don't know what those people said in the video, but he suddenly acted like a madman, wary of them. If even one of them took a step forward, he would roar like a wild beast to keep them away.
The scene remained frozen for a long time until he collapsed from exhaustion and the shock he had suffered. Even in his last moments, he couldn't bear to let go of the woman in his arms. He slowly sat down while holding her before finally giving up and passing out.
The scene flashes again, showing a cemetery.
He didn't know how long he cried, until he was exhausted and slowly fell silent. Then he just stood in front of the tombstone. When he got tired, he would lean against the tombstone without saying a word. From day to night, from night to dawn, from dawn to morning, he seemed to never get tired, leaning against it without blinking.
If it weren't for the cemetery staff who noticed something was wrong and called the police, he thought he might have stayed there until he died!
These images stimulated Feng Guiyu's brain and his nerves.
Staring blankly at the ceiling, tears silently slid down her cheeks.
Had he really been through so much? So it wasn't a problem with his sexual orientation after all? Was the woman he loved most no longer here?
It was him, it was his fault! Why did he play with the car? Why did he argue with his sister on the side of the road? Why didn't he listen to her and go home with her? Why did he jaywalk? If he hadn't jaywalked, his sister wouldn't have been hit by a car while chasing him, and she wouldn't have been hurt.
"Feng Guiyu, how could you..." A suppressed growl, on the verge of exploding, echoed in the quiet house.
He clutched his hair in remorse, a low, unspeakable sob escaping his lips. Had he finally... cried?
That evening, Feng Guiyu drove directly to the cemetery he remembered, found the tombstone where he had buried his ashes a few years ago, and looked at the photo on it that had been blurred by the rain.
He was overcome with grief, his eyes filled with a mixture of longing and regret.
"Sister..." He had so much to say, but in the end, he could only utter these two words.
He stood there for a long time. A light drizzle began to fall, and he stood in the rain, staring intently at the woman in the photograph.
The rain gradually intensified, and he was soaked to the bone.
If the cemetery staff hadn't come to find him just before closing time, he probably wouldn't have planned to leave.
"Sister, in the next life, wait for me, and let me wait for you to grow up, okay? I will treat you well, just like you treated me, no, I will treat you even better. Let's not be siblings anymore, let's be childhood sweethearts. I will accompany you as you grow up, and when we grow up, we will get married and have a lovely son. No, we don't want a son, we want a daughter, a daughter who looks like you, or you can have a son if you want. We can have a son and a daughter, and our family will always be together, okay?"
His words ultimately received no response, only the soft patter of raindrops falling continuously.
After returning home, Feng Guiyu developed a high fever that very night. If his friend Wang Yizhi hadn't been unable to reach him by phone and instead asked the community security guard to check the surveillance footage and find out that he hadn't left the house since returning home the previous night, Feng Guiyu thought he would probably have burned himself to death.
It's better if he's burned to death, so he can see his sister sooner.
"Look at you, so young, why are you trying to torture yourself like others? You got a fever and didn't even call an ambulance?" Wang Yizhi said, cursing as he poured the medicine.
"I heard about what happened on the overpass yesterday. Are you alright?"
Feng Guiyu stared at the scenery outside the window and replied calmly, "What could possibly happen to me?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Yi thought, "Wow! This ancestor is incredibly lucky." However, when he himself learned of this, his heart nearly gave out on the spot.
"Don't worry, I've already had people investigate those people. Take your medicine." He said, holding the medicine to his lips. "Look at your pitiful state, I'll feed you this. This is your only chance. If it weren't for your half-dead state, you wouldn't have had the chance to lower yourself and serve you."
Feng Guiyu frowned upon smelling the bittersweet aroma: "I don't care, take it away, I won't drink it."
